U Brazilu je 641 beba oboljela od mikrocefalije, a od te je bolesti umrlo 139 beba,  zabilježeno je od početka epidemije zika u toj zemlji u listopadu 2015., objavilo je tamošnje ministarstvo zdravlja.

Vlada još istražuje oko 4222 slučaja oboljelih od mikrocefalije koji se dodaju odbačenim slučajevima, njih 1046.

Broj bolesnih 9,9 posto je viši od broja koji je prošlog tjedna iznijelo brazilsko ministarstvo.

Početkom veljače Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) procijenila je da treba razmotriti moguću vezu između zike i eksplozije slučajeva urođenih malformacija i da takva mogućnost zahtijeva  "hitno istraživanje javnog zdravstva međunarodnih razmjera".

Brazil sad ima 1,5 milijuna slučajeva, a u listopadu je 2015. je zazvonio na uzbunu kada se na sjeveroistoku zemlje pojavio neuobičajeno visok broj slučajeva mikrocefalije.

Znanstvenici su također utvrditi da virus zika može izazvati težak neurobiološki poremećaj, Guillain-Barreov sindrom.

Guillain-Barreov sindrom rijetka je bolest koja se razvija nekoliko dana nakon izloženosti virusu, bakteriji ili parazitu.

U Brazilu je 641 beba oboljela od mikrocefalije, a od te je bolesti umrlo 139 beba,  zabilježeno je od početka epidemije zika u toj zemlji u listopadu 2015., objavilo je tamošnje ministarstvo zdravlja.

Vlada još istražuje oko 4222 slučaja oboljelih od mikrocefalije koji se dodaju odbačenim slučajevima, njih 1046.

Broj bolesnih 9,9 posto je viši od broja koji je prošlog tjedna iznijelo brazilsko ministarstvo.

Početkom veljače Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) procijenila je da treba razmotriti moguću vezu između zike i eksplozije slučajeva urođenih malformacija i da takva mogućnost zahtijeva  "hitno istraživanje javnog zdravstva međunarodnih razmjera".

Brazil sad ima 1,5 milijuna slučajeva, a u listopadu je 2015. je zazvonio na uzbunu kada se na sjeveroistoku zemlje pojavio neuobičajeno visok broj slučajeva mikrocefalije.

Znanstvenici su također utvrditi da virus zika može izazvati težak neurobiološki poremećaj, Guillain-Barreov sindrom.

Guillain-Barreov sindrom rijetka je bolest koja se razvija nekoliko dana nakon izloženosti virusu, bakteriji ili parazitu.
