Turska želi modernizirati svoje zračne snage, kako vlastitim oružanim sustavima, tako i mogućim kupnjama. Nakon što je sporazum o avionima F-35 propao zbog sukoba s Washingtonom zbog turske kupnje ruskog S-400 sustava, sada je Ankara zatražila kupnju 40 borbenih zrakoplova F-16 proizvedenih u Lockheedu Martinu i modernizaciju njih 80 za već postojeće F-16 u turskim zračnim snagama, piše Reuters, a prenosi Geopolitika.news.

Dogovor, vrijedan milijarde, još uvijek treba proći kroz proces odobrenja Državnog tajništva SAD-a. Ta institucija, ali i Kongres, imaju mogućnost blokirati prodaju.

"Zbog unutarnjih pravila, naš odjel ne potvrđuje niti komentira predložene prodaje ili transfere sve dok ih nije službeno potvrdio Kongres”, rekao je glasnogovornik Državnog tajništva.

Ankara je već naručila više od 100 zrakoplova F-35, koje je također izradio Lockheed Martin Corp., ali je SAD 2019. uklonio Tursku iz tog projekta pod obrazloženjem da Turska, kao NATO članica, ne bi trebala kupovati ruski sustav proturaketne obrane. Ankara je američku odluku o izbacivanju Turske iz F-35 projekta nazvala "jednostranom i nezakonitom”.

Washington tvrdi da bi zračne raketne sustave S-400 koje je Turska kupila, mogla Rusija koristiti za tajno dobivanje povjerljivih podataka o avionima Lockheed Martin F-35 i da su nekompatibilni s oružanima sustavima NATO-a. Turska, međutim, inzistira na tome da S-400 ne bi bio integriran u sustave NATO-a i ne bi bio prijetnja savezu.

Zahtjev za kupovinu F-16 aviona vjerojatno će imati poteškoća pri odobrenju Kongresa jer su se posljednjih godina odnosi s Turskom dodatno pogoršali. U prosincu 2020. Washington je stavio na crnu listu sankcija turskog predsjednika obrambene industrije Ismaila Demira i još troje zaposlenih. U SAD-u postoji dvostranačka podrška da Bidenov ured izvrši daljnji pritisak na Ankaru.

F-16 Fighting Falcon je američki višenamjenski borbeni zrakoplov četvrte generacije. Njegova iznimna prilagodljivost smatra se jednim od glavnih razloga što je uspješno izvezen u 24 zemlje. Također se smatra jednim od najsigurnijih lovaca na svijetu. F-16 je i najuspješniji izvozni lovac Zapada, s preko 4600 proizvedenih zrakoplova. Proizvodi se od davne 1976. Iako američke zračne snage više ne kupuju F-16, modernizirane verzije proizvode se za izvoz, piše Geopolitika.news.

Turska želi modernizirati svoje zračne snage, kako vlastitim oružanim sustavima, tako i mogućim kupnjama. Nakon što je sporazum o avionima F-35 propao zbog sukoba s Washingtonom zbog turske kupnje ruskog S-400 sustava, sada je Ankara zatražila kupnju 40 borbenih zrakoplova F-16 proizvedenih u Lockheedu Martinu i modernizaciju njih 80 za već postojeće F-16 u turskim zračnim snagama, piše Reuters, a prenosi Geopolitika.news.

Dogovor, vrijedan milijarde, još uvijek treba proći kroz proces odobrenja Državnog tajništva SAD-a. Ta institucija, ali i Kongres, imaju mogućnost blokirati prodaju.

"Zbog unutarnjih pravila, naš odjel ne potvrđuje niti komentira predložene prodaje ili transfere sve dok ih nije službeno potvrdio Kongres”, rekao je glasnogovornik Državnog tajništva.

Ankara je već naručila više od 100 zrakoplova F-35, koje je također izradio Lockheed Martin Corp., ali je SAD 2019. uklonio Tursku iz tog projekta pod obrazloženjem da Turska, kao NATO članica, ne bi trebala kupovati ruski sustav proturaketne obrane. Ankara je američku odluku o izbacivanju Turske iz F-35 projekta nazvala "jednostranom i nezakonitom”.

Washington tvrdi da bi zračne raketne sustave S-400 koje je Turska kupila, mogla Rusija koristiti za tajno dobivanje povjerljivih podataka o avionima Lockheed Martin F-35 i da su nekompatibilni s oružanima sustavima NATO-a. Turska, međutim, inzistira na tome da S-400 ne bi bio integriran u sustave NATO-a i ne bi bio prijetnja savezu.

Zahtjev za kupovinu F-16 aviona vjerojatno će imati poteškoća pri odobrenju Kongresa jer su se posljednjih godina odnosi s Turskom dodatno pogoršali. U prosincu 2020. Washington je stavio na crnu listu sankcija turskog predsjednika obrambene industrije Ismaila Demira i još troje zaposlenih. U SAD-u postoji dvostranačka podrška da Bidenov ured izvrši daljnji pritisak na Ankaru.

F-16 Fighting Falcon je američki višenamjenski borbeni zrakoplov četvrte generacije. Njegova iznimna prilagodljivost smatra se jednim od glavnih razloga što je uspješno izvezen u 24 zemlje. Također se smatra jednim od najsigurnijih lovaca na svijetu. F-16 je i najuspješniji izvozni lovac Zapada, s preko 4600 proizvedenih zrakoplova. Proizvodi se od davne 1976. Iako američke zračne snage više ne kupuju F-16, modernizirane verzije proizvode se za izvoz, piše Geopolitika.news.
