Somalijski gusari oteli su brod pod panamskom zastavom, što je prva uspješna otmica od 2017. godine, rekli su regionalni dužnosnici u četvrtak.

Brod je prometovao od Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata u luku Mogadishu kad je iskusio tehničke probleme, rekao je Musse Salah, guverner regije Gardafu koja je dio poluautomne sjeverne regije Puntland.

Napalo ga je šest pirata u srijedu navečer, rekao je. Broj i nacionalnost posade nisu poznati, no pregovori o njihovom oslobođenju su u tijeku, rekao je. 

Na vrhuncu svoje moći u 2011., somalijski gusari izveli su 237 napada na somalijskoj obali, rekao je Međunarodni pomorski ured, te su držali stotine talaca. 

Napadi su kasnije naglo prestali, uglavnom zato što su brodarske kompanije ugradile bolje sigurnosne protokole, uključujući i stražu, plovljenje dalje od Somalije i zapošljavanje privatnih zaštitarskih tvrtki. Međunarodni ratni brodovi koji djeluju kao dio koalicije također su pomogli da se smanji broj napada.

Somalijski gusari oteli su brod pod panamskom zastavom, što je prva uspješna otmica od 2017. godine, rekli su regionalni dužnosnici u četvrtak.

Brod je prometovao od Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata u luku Mogadishu kad je iskusio tehničke probleme, rekao je Musse Salah, guverner regije Gardafu koja je dio poluautomne sjeverne regije Puntland.

Napalo ga je šest pirata u srijedu navečer, rekao je. Broj i nacionalnost posade nisu poznati, no pregovori o njihovom oslobođenju su u tijeku, rekao je. 

Na vrhuncu svoje moći u 2011., somalijski gusari izveli su 237 napada na somalijskoj obali, rekao je Međunarodni pomorski ured, te su držali stotine talaca. 

Napadi su kasnije naglo prestali, uglavnom zato što su brodarske kompanije ugradile bolje sigurnosne protokole, uključujući i stražu, plovljenje dalje od Somalije i zapošljavanje privatnih zaštitarskih tvrtki. Međunarodni ratni brodovi koji djeluju kao dio koalicije također su pomogli da se smanji broj napada.

Somalijski gusari oteli su brod pod panamskom zastavom, što je prva uspješna otmica od 2017. godine, rekli su regionalni dužnosnici u četvrtak.

Brod je prometovao od Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata u luku Mogadishu kad je iskusio tehničke probleme, rekao je Musse Salah, guverner regije Gardafu koja je dio poluautomne sjeverne regije Puntland.

Napalo ga je šest pirata u srijedu navečer, rekao je. Broj i nacionalnost posade nisu poznati, no pregovori o njihovom oslobođenju su u tijeku, rekao je. 

Na vrhuncu svoje moći u 2011., somalijski gusari izveli su 237 napada na somalijskoj obali, rekao je Međunarodni pomorski ured, te su držali stotine talaca.
