Europski gradovi bili su ”igrališta” za ruske oligarhe. Ali, zapadne sankcije su zatvorile velik dio svijeta za ove superbogataše.

Prije invazije na Ukrajinu privatni zrakoplovi koji su polijetali iz Moskve letjeli su u Pariz, Milano i Ženevu češće nego bilo gdje drugdje.

No, nakon 24. veljače, kada je Europa počela zatvarati svoj zračni prostor za ruske zrakoplove, bogati Rusi počeli su letjeti negdje drugdje, a ponajviše u središnju Aziju i na Bliski istok.

Do svibnja se tako oblikovala nova geografija ruske elite, pokazuju podaci o gotovo 2000 letova koje je analizirao New York Times. A središte tog svijeta očito je – Dubai. Zovu ga "Dubajsk".

Nakon ruske invazije, zatvaranje granica, međunarodne sankcije i strah od zatvora natjerala je desetke tisuća ljudi da pobjegnu iz Rusije. Novinari, aktivisti i IT stručnjaci pohrlili su najprije u Armeniju, Gruziju i Tursku – relativno pristupačne, obližnje zemlje koje Rusima dopuštaju ulazak bez viza.

U Europi su zemlje poput Njemačke i Latvije primale Ruse koji su bježali u strahu od progona kod kuće. Ali, druga skupina Rusa — uključujući poslovne magnate i razne slavne osobe — odabrala je Dubai, najveći grad u Perzijskom zaljevu, kao svoje glavne odredište.

Prije invazije, samo tri posto privatnih letova koji su polazili iz Rusije letjelo je u Ujedinjene Arapske Emirate, prvenstveno u Dubai, zaključio je New York Times analizirajući tisuća zapisa RadarBoxa, tvrtke za praćenje letova. Taj je broj porastao na 6 posto u tjednima nakon početka invazije, a do svibnja na čak 14 posto. Dakle, gotovo pet puta.

Zapisi RadarBoxa pružaju upečatljive dokaze da su zapadne sankcije zbog rata u Ukrajini uspjele drastično promijeniti živote i navike ruske elite. Analiza obuhvaća i zrakoplove u privatnom vlasništvu i mlaznjake koje su unajmile komercijalne tvrtke, iako obrasci letova sugeriraju da je većina tih zrakoplova u privatnom vlasništvu.

'Mnogi ljudi nemaju izbora'

Prije invazije 24. veljače, čak i usred dubokog zamrzavanja odnosa između Rusije i Zapada, luksuzna europska odredišta u Velikoj Britaniji, Francuskoj i Švicarskoj nudila su utočište za superbogate Ruse. Ali sada, kad je europski zračni prostor zatvoren za ruske zrakoplove, čini se da su dani letenja u Ženevu na shopping izlet za vikend prošli.

S druge strane, Kazahstan i Turska, zemlje koje se nisu pridružile sankcijama protiv Rusije i koje su pružile dom ruskim tvrtkama koje napuštaju vlastitu zemlju, postale su vodeća odredišta. Azerbajdžan, bivša sovjetska republika koja još uvijek njeguje bliske veze s Rusijom i Ukrajinom, također je imala koristi od povećanog broja putovanja privatnim avionima.

Nakon ruske invazije, zatvaranje granica, međunarodne sankcije i strah od zatvora natjerala je desetke tisuća ljudi da pobjegnu iz Rusije. Novinari, aktivisti i IT stručnjaci pohrlili su najprije u Armeniju, Gruziju i Tursku – relativno pristupačne, obližnje zemlje koje Rusima dopuštaju ulazak bez viza.

U Europi su zemlje poput Njemačke i Latvije primale Ruse koji su bježali u strahu od progona kod kuće. Ali, druga skupina Rusa — uključujući poslovne magnate i razne slavne osobe — odabrala je Dubai, najveći grad u Perzijskom zaljevu, kao svoje glavne odredište.

Prije invazije, samo tri posto privatnih letova koji su polazili iz Rusije letjelo je u Ujedinjene Arapske Emirate, prvenstveno u Dubai, zaključio je New York Times analizirajući tisuća zapisa RadarBoxa, tvrtke za praćenje letova. Taj je broj porastao na 6 posto u tjednima nakon početka invazije, a do svibnja na čak 14 posto. Dakle, gotovo pet puta.

Zapisi RadarBoxa pružaju upečatljive dokaze da su zapadne sankcije zbog rata u Ukrajini uspjele drastično promijeniti živote i navike ruske elite. Analiza obuhvaća i zrakoplove u privatnom vlasništvu i mlaznjake koje su unajmile komercijalne tvrtke, iako obrasci letova sugeriraju da je većina tih zrakoplova u privatnom vlasništvu.

'Mnogi ljudi nemaju izbora'

Prije invazije 24. veljače, čak i usred dubokog zamrzavanja odnosa između Rusije i Zapada, luksuzna europska odredišta u Velikoj Britaniji, Francuskoj i Švicarskoj nudila su utočište za superbogate Ruse. Ali sada, kad je europski zračni prostor zatvoren za ruske zrakoplove, čini se da su dani letenja u Ženevu na shopping izlet za vikend prošli.

S druge strane, Kazahstan i Turska, zemlje koje se nisu pridružile sankcijama protiv Rusije i koje su pružile dom ruskim tvrtkama koje napuštaju vlastitu zemlju, postale su vodeća odredišta. Azerbajdžan, bivša sovjetska republika koja još uvijek njeguje bliske veze s Rusijom i Ukrajinom, također je imala koristi od povećanog broja putovanja privatnim avionima.

Ali, nijedna zemlja nije doživjela tako veliki rast dolazaka bogatih ruskih putnika kao Ujedinjeni Arapski Emirati, gdje je turističko i financijsko središte Dubai postalo centar koji povezuje Moskvu s luksuzom i poslovnim prilikama koje se još uvijek nude iz ostatka svijeta .

“Mnogi ljudi nemaju izbora”, rekla je Darija Poligajeva, ruska novinarka koja se prije nekoliko godina preselila u Dubai i sada vidi val sunarodnjaka koji pristiže. "To je jedno od rijetkih mjesta na koje sada možete prenijeti svoj biznis, gdje postoji tržište, gdje možete razviti poslovanje i još uvijek imate pristup tržištu međunarodnih korporacija", dodala je.

Prije invazije na Ukrajinu privatni zrakoplovi koji su polijetali iz Moskve letjeli su u Pariz, Milano i Ženevu češće nego bilo gdje drugdje.
