Papa Franjo stigao je u četvrtak u Peru u trodnevni posjet tijekom kojeg bi trebao posjetiti amazonsku prašumu, nakon prve čileanske etape obilježene polemikama oko pedofilskih skandala.

Po slijetanju njegova zrakoplova u zračnu luku Lime, dočekao ga je predsjednik Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.
Tijekom svojeg trodnevnog putovanja po Peruu, Papa će prvi put posjetiti amazonsku prašumu, na jugoistoku zemlje, što je središnji događaj njegova putovanja.

U malom gradu Puerto Maldonadu dočekat će ga 3500 urođenika među kojima neki iz Bolivije i Brazila. Kao dokaz zanimanja za opasnosti po okoliš koje prijete tim zelenim plućima i njihovim stanovnicima, ponekad pretvorenim u robove krijumčara, Papa je sazvao za 2019. sinodu posvećenu narodima Amazone.

Papa posjećuje Peru, zemlju zahvaćenu dubokom krizom nakon pomilovanja za Božić bivšeg peruanskog predsjednika Alberta Fujimorija, osuđena za korupciju i zločine protiv čovječnosti. Snažno kritiziran zbog te odluke, šef države Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, nekadašnji bankar s Wall Streeta, i sam je jedva izbjegao svrgavanje zbog povezanost s korupcijskim skandalom s brazilskom tvrtkom Odebrecht.

Došavši u Čile većinom kako bi zaliječio rane čileanske crkve diskreditirane zbog šutnje spram pedofilskih skandala, Papa je nanizao izjave kajanja ali je na kraju stao u obranu biskupa Juana Barrosa kojega čileanski mediji proganjaju od dolaska jer je optužen da je štitio svećenika pedofila.

Papa Franjo stigao je u četvrtak u Peru u trodnevni posjet tijekom kojeg bi trebao posjetiti amazonsku prašumu, nakon prve čileanske etape obilježene polemikama oko pedofilskih skandala.

Po slijetanju njegova zrakoplova u zračnu luku Lime, dočekao ga je predsjednik Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.
Tijekom svojeg trodnevnog putovanja po Peruu, Papa će prvi put posjetiti amazonsku prašumu, na jugoistoku zemlje, što je središnji događaj njegova putovanja.

U malom gradu Puerto Maldonadu dočekat će ga 3500 urođenika među kojima neki iz Bolivije i Brazila. Kao dokaz zanimanja za opasnosti po okoliš koje prijete tim zelenim plućima i njihovim stanovnicima, ponekad pretvorenim u robove krijumčara, Papa je sazvao za 2019. sinodu posvećenu narodima Amazone.

Papa posjećuje Peru, zemlju zahvaćenu dubokom krizom nakon pomilovanja za Božić bivšeg peruanskog predsjednika Alberta Fujimorija, osuđena za korupciju i zločine protiv čovječnosti. Snažno kritiziran zbog te odluke, šef države Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, nekadašnji bankar s Wall Streeta, i sam je jedva izbjegao svrgavanje zbog povezanost s korupcijskim skandalom s brazilskom tvrtkom Odebrecht.

Došavši u Čile većinom kako bi zaliječio rane čileanske crkve diskreditirane zbog šutnje spram pedofilskih skandala, Papa je nanizao izjave kajanja ali je na kraju stao u obranu biskupa Juana Barrosa kojega čileanski mediji proganjaju od dolaska jer je optužen da je štitio svećenika pedofila.
