Kyriakos Mitsotakis aktualni je premijer Grčke u svom drugom mandatu koji je počeo u lipnju prošle godine. Na poziciju predsjednika Vlade prvi je put bio izabran 2019. godine.

Mitsotakis je šef stranke Nea Demokratia (Nova demokracija), a prije pobjede na izborima 2019. bio je lider grčke opozicije od 2016. do 2019. godine, a prije toga i ministar za reformu administracije od 2013. do 2015. Rođen je 1968. godine kao sin pokojnog Konstantinosa Mitsotakisa, također premijera Grčke od 1990. do 1993. godine.

Nakon parlamentarnih izbora u svibnju 2023. godine, na kojima nijedna stranka nije osvojila dovoljan broj ruku i nitko nije uspio složiti koalicijsku vladu, Mitsotakis je zatražio ponavljanje izbora. Mjesec dana kasnije Mitsotakis i njegova stranka uspjeli su dobiti potrebnu većinu glasova i dobio je mandat za sastavljanje vlade.

Kao čelni čovjek države Mitsotakis je obasipan i pohvalama i kritikama. Među zasluge mu se pripisuje uspješna digitalna transformacija grčke javne administracije, zatim promicanje prava LGBT populacije kroz legalizaciju istospolnih brakova te posvajanje djece za istospolne parove. Nadalje, velike pohvale dobio je za upravljanje grčkom ekonomijom.

S druge strane, kritiziran je zbog načina upravljanja zdravstvenim sustavom u vrijeme koronakrize te zbog načina na koji (ne) rješava problem ilegalnih migracija (na teret mu se stavlja prevelik broj "pushbackova", što njegova vlada negira. Kao najveći njegov grijesi ističu se porast korupcije pod njegovom paskom te urušavanje slobode medija u zemlji.

Njegove mandate negativno su obiježili i skandal s prisluškivanjem 2022. godine te katastrofalni požari 2021. i 2023. godine. Inače je vrlo utjecajan u Europskoj pučkoj stranci (EPP).

Roberta Metsola, rođena kao Tedesco Tricas 1979. godine, političarka je s Malte i trenutačna predsjednica Europskog parlamenta. Na toj je poziciji od 2022. godine kao pripadnica malteške Stranke nacionalista (Partit Nazzjonalista, PN) te Europske pučke stranke (EPP).

Karijeru u Bruxellesu počela je 2013., kada je prvi put izabrana u Europski parlament (EP). Prva potporedsjednica EP-a postala je 2020. godine, a nakon smrti tadašnjeg šefa Parlamenta Davida Sassolija, Metsola je izabrana za tu funkciju u siječnju 2022. godine. Time je postala najmlađa predsjednica EP-a u povijesti, prva Maltežanka te prva žena na toj funkciji od 2002. godine.

Skupa sa svojim mužem, Fincem Ukkom Metsolom - s kojim se vjenčala 2005. godine i ima četiri sina - kandidirala se na listi EPP-a za Europski parlament 2009. godine. Tada su postali prvi bračni par iz dvije različite države koji se natječe na istim izborima za EP.

Njezina Stranka nacionalista je demokršćanska, konzervativna stranka koja podržava malteško članstvo u Europskoj uniji i sada je u oporbi. Ono što se Metsoli predbacuje jest konzistentno glasanje za sve odluke koje umanjuju pravo na pobačaj.

Od samog početka svog mandata na čelu EP-a suočava se s pitanjima o protivljenju pobačaju, koji je legalan u svim članicama EU - osim u Poljskoj i na Malti. Godine 2015. skupa s drugim članovima EP s Malte potpisala je priopćenje za medije u kojemu navodi da je "kategorički protiv pobačaja". Po izboru za šeficu Parlamenta ustvrdila je da će "predstavljati poziciju Europskog parlamenta", a to bi bilo da je siguran pristup pobačaju ljudsko pravo, piše Jutarnji.hr.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis aktualni je premijer Grčke u svom drugom mandatu koji je počeo u lipnju prošle godine. Na poziciju predsjednika Vlade prvi je put bio izabran 2019. godine.

Mitsotakis je šef stranke Nea Demokratia (Nova demokracija), a prije pobjede na izborima 2019. bio je lider grčke opozicije od 2016. do 2019. godine, a prije toga i ministar za reformu administracije od 2013. do 2015. Rođen je 1968. godine kao sin pokojnog Konstantinosa Mitsotakisa, također premijera Grčke od 1990. do 1993. godine.

Nakon parlamentarnih izbora u svibnju 2023. godine, na kojima nijedna stranka nije osvojila dovoljan broj ruku i nitko nije uspio složiti koalicijsku vladu, Mitsotakis je zatražio ponavljanje izbora. Mjesec dana kasnije Mitsotakis i njegova stranka uspjeli su dobiti potrebnu većinu glasova i dobio je mandat za sastavljanje vlade.

Kao čelni čovjek države Mitsotakis je obasipan i pohvalama i kritikama. Među zasluge mu se pripisuje uspješna digitalna transformacija grčke javne administracije, zatim promicanje prava LGBT populacije kroz legalizaciju istospolnih brakova te posvajanje djece za istospolne parove. Nadalje, velike pohvale dobio je za upravljanje grčkom ekonomijom.

S druge strane, kritiziran je zbog načina upravljanja zdravstvenim sustavom u vrijeme koronakrize te zbog načina na koji (ne) rješava problem ilegalnih migracija (na teret mu se stavlja prevelik broj "pushbackova", što njegova vlada negira. Kao najveći njegov grijesi ističu se porast korupcije pod njegovom paskom te urušavanje slobode medija u zemlji.

Njegove mandate negativno su obiježili i skandal s prisluškivanjem 2022. godine te katastrofalni požari 2021. i 2023. godine. Inače je vrlo utjecajan u Europskoj pučkoj stranci (EPP).

Roberta Metsola, rođena kao Tedesco Tricas 1979. godine, političarka je s Malte i trenutačna predsjednica Europskog parlamenta. Na toj je poziciji od 2022. godine kao pripadnica malteške Stranke nacionalista (Partit Nazzjonalista, PN) te Europske pučke stranke (EPP).

Karijeru u Bruxellesu počela je 2013., kada je prvi put izabrana u Europski parlament (EP). Prva potporedsjednica EP-a postala je 2020. godine, a nakon smrti tadašnjeg šefa Parlamenta Davida Sassolija, Metsola je izabrana za tu funkciju u siječnju 2022. godine. Time je postala najmlađa predsjednica EP-a u povijesti, prva Maltežanka te prva žena na toj funkciji od 2002. godine.

Skupa sa svojim mužem, Fincem Ukkom Metsolom - s kojim se vjenčala 2005. godine i ima četiri sina - kandidirala se na listi EPP-a za Europski parlament 2009. godine. Tada su postali prvi bračni par iz dvije različite države koji se natječe na istim izborima za EP.

Njezina Stranka nacionalista je demokršćanska, konzervativna stranka koja podržava malteško članstvo u Europskoj uniji i sada je u oporbi. Ono što se Metsoli predbacuje jest konzistentno glasanje za sve odluke koje umanjuju pravo na pobačaj.

Od samog početka svog mandata na čelu EP-a suočava se s pitanjima o protivljenju pobačaju, koji je legalan u svim članicama EU - osim u Poljskoj i na Malti. Godine 2015. skupa s drugim članovima EP s Malte potpisala je priopćenje za medije u kojemu navodi da je "kategorički protiv pobačaja". Po izboru za šeficu Parlamenta ustvrdila je da će "predstavljati poziciju Europskog parlamenta", a to bi bilo da je siguran pristup pobačaju ljudsko pravo, piše Jutarnji.hr.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis aktualni je premijer Grčke u svom drugom mandatu koji je počeo u lipnju prošle godine. Na poziciju predsjednika Vlade prvi je put bio izabran 2019. godine.

Mitsotakis je šef stranke Nea Demokratia (Nova demokracija), a prije pobjede na izborima 2019. bio je lider grčke opozicije od 2016. do 2019. godine, a prije toga i ministar za reformu administracije od 2013. do 2015. Rođen je 1968. godine kao sin pokojnog Konstantinosa Mitsotakisa, također premijera Grčke od 1990. do 1993. godine.

Nakon parlamentarnih izbora u svibnju 2023. godine, na kojima nijedna stranka nije osvojila dovoljan broj ruku i nitko nije uspio složiti koalicijsku vladu, Mitsotakis je zatražio ponavljanje izbora. Mjesec dana kasnije Mitsotakis i njegova stranka uspjeli su dobiti potrebnu većinu glasova i dobio je mandat za sastavljanje vlade.
