Vijeće sigurnosti UN-a održava izvanrednu sjednicu, posvećenu pojačavanju napetosti između Sjeverne i Južne Koreje. Sastanak je sazvan na zahtjev Rusije. Diplomati su rekli kako se nadaju da će dogovoriti izjavu koja bi mogla pridonijeti smirivanju napetosti.

Naime, jučer je zbog nepovoljnih vremenskih uvjeta odgođena vojna vježba Južne Koreje s bojnim streljivom, zbog koje Sjeverna Koreja kaže da će opet napasti.

Guverner američke savezne države Novi Meksiko Bill Richardson, bivši američki diplomat koji se nalazi u neslužbenom četverodnevnom posjetu Pjongjangu, gdje se sastao s visokim sjevernokorejskim dužnosnicima, pozdravio je sazivanje Vijeća sigurnosti, rekavši kako to može pomoći da se spriječi daljnja vojna eskalacija.

Richardson se sastao s generalom Pak Rim Suom, koji zapovijeda snagama Sj. Koreje u demilitariziranoj zoni duž granice s Južnom Korejom.

Richardson je rekao za CNN da je general Pak pokazao sklonost prihvaćanju njegova prijedloga o uspostavi vruće linije između vojski Sjeverne i Južne Koreje kako bi se rješavala pitanja koja mogu izazvati incidente.

Također je pozdravio prijedlog o osnivanju zajedničke vojne komisije dviju Koreja i SAD-a, za nadzor spornog pograničnog područja u Južnom kineskom moru. To je vrlo, vrlo napeta, krizna situacija. Vijeće sigurnosti UN-a tu može biti najučinkovitije, kazao je Richardson.

Vijeće sigurnosti UN-a održava izvanrednu sjednicu, posvećenu pojačavanju napetosti između Sjeverne i Južne Koreje. Sastanak je sazvan na zahtjev Rusije. Diplomati su rekli kako se nadaju da će dogovoriti izjavu koja bi mogla pridonijeti smirivanju napetosti.

Naime, jučer je zbog nepovoljnih vremenskih uvjeta odgođena vojna vježba Južne Koreje s bojnim streljivom, zbog koje Sjeverna Koreja kaže da će opet napasti.

Guverner američke savezne države Novi Meksiko Bill Richardson, bivši američki diplomat koji se nalazi u neslužbenom četverodnevnom posjetu Pjongjangu, gdje se sastao s visokim sjevernokorejskim dužnosnicima, pozdravio je sazivanje Vijeća sigurnosti, rekavši kako to može pomoći da se spriječi daljnja vojna eskalacija.

Richardson se sastao s generalom Pak Rim Suom, koji zapovijeda snagama Sj. Koreje u demilitariziranoj zoni duž granice s Južnom Korejom.

Richardson je rekao za CNN da je general Pak pokazao sklonost prihvaćanju njegova prijedloga o uspostavi vruće linije između vojski Sjeverne i Južne Koreje kako bi se rješavala pitanja koja mogu izazvati incidente.

Također je pozdravio prijedlog o osnivanju zajedničke vojne komisije dviju Koreja i SAD-a, za nadzor spornog pograničnog područja u Južnom kineskom moru. To je vrlo, vrlo napeta, krizna situacija. Vijeće sigurnosti UN-a tu može biti najučinkovitije, kazao je Richardson.
