Isporuka cjepiva protiv koronavirusa diljem svijeta bit će "najveći prijevozni izazov ikad", navela je udruga zračnih prijevoznika, a prenosi u četvrtak BBC.
Oko 8000 Boeinga 747 bit će potrebno za distribuciju cjepiva, objavila je Međunarodna udruga za zračni prijevoz (IATA).
Iako nema još odobrenog cjepiva, IATA već radi na planu distribucije sa zračnim lukama, globalnim zdravstvenim organizacijama i farmaceutskim tvrtkama.
Program isporuke predviđa jednu dozu cjepiva po osobi.
"Sigurna isporuka cjepiva protiv covida-19 bit će misija stoljeća za globalnu zračnu industriju teretnog prijevoza. No neće se ostvariti bez pažljivog planiranja unaprijed. Vrijeme za to je sada", rekao je izvršni direktor IATA-e Alexandre de Juniac.
Zračne kompanije usmjerile su se na isporuku robe zbog ozbiljnog pada putničkog prijevoza u pandemiji koronavirusa. No isporuka cjepiva je puno kompliciranija.
Nisu svi zrakoplovi prikladni za prijevoz cjepiva. Lijekovi se trebaju prevoziti na temperaturi između dva i osam Celzijevih stupnjeva, što bi trebalo isključiti iz igre više zrakoplova.
"Dobro poznajemo procedure. Trebamo ih prilagoditi razmjerima koji će biti potrebni", doda je šef teretnog prijevoza u IATA-i Glyn Hughes.
Letovi u neke dijelove svijeta, uključujući jugoistočnu Aziju, bit će kritični jer im manjka kapaciteta za proizvodnju cjepiva, rekao je Hughes.
Distribucija cjepiva u Afriku mogla bi biti "nemoguća" zbog nedovoljno skladišta za teret, veličine regije i složenosti graničnih prijelaza.
Prijevoz cjepiva u Afriku zahtijevat će "gotovo vojnu preciznost" i hlađene prostore za čuvanje cjepiva.
Oko 140 cjepiva je u ranoj fazi razvoja, a dvadesetak ih se trenutačno testira na ljudima. Cjepivo s Oxforda je u odmakloj fazi testiranja.
IATA je pozvala vlade da počnu pomno planirati kako bi bili potpuno spremni jednom kad se cjepiva odobre i budu spremna za distribuciju.
Osim prijevoza cjepiva na kontroliranim temperaturama, drugi problem bit će sigurnost.
"Cjepiva će biti vrlo vrijedna roba. Moraju se uspostaviti aranžmani kako bi se zajamčila sigurnost pošiljki od neovlaštenog ponašanje i pljačke", dodala je IATA.

Isporuka cjepiva protiv koronavirusa diljem svijeta bit će "najveći prijevozni izazov ikad", navela je udruga zračnih prijevoznika, a prenosi u četvrtak BBC.
Oko 8000 Boeinga 747 bit će potrebno za distribuciju cjepiva, objavila je Međunarodna udruga za zračni prijevoz (IATA).
Iako nema još odobrenog cjepiva, IATA već radi na planu distribucije sa zračnim lukama, globalnim zdravstvenim organizacijama i farmaceutskim tvrtkama.
Program isporuke predviđa jednu dozu cjepiva po osobi.
"Sigurna isporuka cjepiva protiv covida-19 bit će misija stoljeća za globalnu zračnu industriju teretnog prijevoza. No neće se ostvariti bez pažljivog planiranja unaprijed. Vrijeme za to je sada", rekao je izvršni direktor IATA-e Alexandre de Juniac.
Zračne kompanije usmjerile su se na isporuku robe zbog ozbiljnog pada putničkog prijevoza u pandemiji koronavirusa. No isporuka cjepiva je puno kompliciranija.
Nisu svi zrakoplovi prikladni za prijevoz cjepiva. Lijekovi se trebaju prevoziti na temperaturi između dva i osam Celzijevih stupnjeva, što bi trebalo isključiti iz igre više zrakoplova.
"Dobro poznajemo procedure. Trebamo ih prilagoditi razmjerima koji će biti potrebni", doda je šef teretnog prijevoza u IATA-i Glyn Hughes.
Letovi u neke dijelove svijeta, uključujući jugoistočnu Aziju, bit će kritični jer im manjka kapaciteta za proizvodnju cjepiva, rekao je Hughes.
Distribucija cjepiva u Afriku mogla bi biti "nemoguća" zbog nedovoljno skladišta za teret, veličine regije i složenosti graničnih prijelaza.
Prijevoz cjepiva u Afriku zahtijevat će "gotovo vojnu preciznost" i hlađene prostore za čuvanje cjepiva.
Oko 140 cjepiva je u ranoj fazi razvoja, a dvadesetak ih se trenutačno testira na ljudima. Cjepivo s Oxforda je u odmakloj fazi testiranja.
IATA je pozvala vlade da počnu pomno planirati kako bi bili potpuno spremni jednom kad se cjepiva odobre i budu spremna za distribuciju.
Osim prijevoza cjepiva na kontroliranim temperaturama, drugi problem bit će sigurnost.
"Cjepiva će biti vrlo vrijedna roba. Moraju se uspostaviti aranžmani kako bi se zajamčila sigurnost pošiljki od neovlaštenog ponašanje i pljačke", dodala je IATA.
