Dvojica zatvorenika iz Guantanama, od kojih je jedan Tadžikistanac, a drugi Jemenac, prebačeni su u Srbiju, objavili su u ponedjeljak Pentagon i State Department.
Sjedinjene Države zahvaljuju Republici Srbiji što je predložila taj humanitarni prihvat, naveo je State Department u priopćenju.
Istaknuo je da se Srbija tako pridružuje 30 drugih zemalja koje su od 2009. primile zatvorenike iz Guantanama
Jemenskog zatvorenika Amerikanci optužuju da je bio član terorističke mreže al-Kaide i da je bio upoznat s planovima atentata 11. rujna 2001., prema bazi podataka New York Timesa o zatvorenicima tog zatvora.
Tadžikistanskog zatvorenika Amerikanci optužuju da je bio član radikalnog islamističkog pokreta u Tadžikistanu i da ga je uvježbala al-Kaida, prema istom izvoru.
Nakon prebacivanja te dvojice zatvorenika u Srbiju u Guantanamu preostaje 76 zatvorenika od kojih su 26 proglašeni spremnima za prebacivanje i čekaju zemlju koja će im osigurati zatvor.
Američki predsjednik Barack Obama obećao je zatvoriti taj zatvor u američkoj bazi na kubanskom otoku, ali ispujenje tog obećanja sada se čini nemogućim prije završetka njegova mandata u siječnju. Bez sporazuma s Kongresom u kojem republikanci imaju većinu, administracija demokratskog predsjednika nije pronašla novo mjesto na američkom tlu za zatočenje 50 zatvorenika, čije prebacivanje nije moguće.
A tko su ljudi koje je Amerika ispratila u Srbiju? Nijedan od njih nema veze sa Srbijom i ovo je prvi put da naša susjedna zemlja prima pritvorenike iz Guantanama. Za razliku od Bosne i Hercegovine i Crne Gore, javlja Jutarnji list.
Jedan od njih je Jemenac Abdul Rahman Ahmed, koji je 2001. godine uhićen u Afganistanu. Iako su 2009. godine Amerikanci zaključili kako bi bilo pametno da Ahmed ostane u pritvoru, šest godina poslije utvrdilo se da od njega 'nema opasnosti' i da zatvor više nije potrban.
U izvještaju se navodi da je Ahmed nekad bio 'nižerazredni borac Al Qaede', ali da je zapravo - nebitan. Također, navodi se da se u pritvoru promijenio, da je položio sve srednjoškolske ispite, savršeno naučio engleski, te da s njim nije bilo nikakvih problema u zadnje četiri godine.
- Radna skupina je zaključila da kod njega nema više ekstremističkih ideja i da se bez problema može adaptirati u zapadnjačkoj kulturi.
Drugi čovjek koji stiže u Srbiju je Omar Hamzajavič Abdulajev (37) iz Tadžikistana. On je na listi za puštanje još od 2009. nakon što su Amerikanci zaključili da od njega nema nikakve prijetnje.
Na kraju se postavlja pitanje zašto ih prebacuju u Srbiju? Odgovor je dao državni tajnik John Kerry.

Dvojica zatvorenika iz Guantanama, od kojih je jedan Tadžikistanac, a drugi Jemenac, prebačeni su u Srbiju, objavili su u ponedjeljak Pentagon i State Department.
Sjedinjene Države zahvaljuju Republici Srbiji što je predložila taj humanitarni prihvat, naveo je State Department u priopćenju.
Istaknuo je da se Srbija tako pridružuje 30 drugih zemalja koje su od 2009. primile zatvorenike iz Guantanama
Jemenskog zatvorenika Amerikanci optužuju da je bio član terorističke mreže al-Kaide i da je bio upoznat s planovima atentata 11. rujna 2001., prema bazi podataka New York Timesa o zatvorenicima tog zatvora.
Tadžikistanskog zatvorenika Amerikanci optužuju da je bio član radikalnog islamističkog pokreta u Tadžikistanu i da ga je uvježbala al-Kaida, prema istom izvoru.
Nakon prebacivanja te dvojice zatvorenika u Srbiju u Guantanamu preostaje 76 zatvorenika od kojih su 26 proglašeni spremnima za prebacivanje i čekaju zemlju koja će im osigurati zatvor.
Američki predsjednik Barack Obama obećao je zatvoriti taj zatvor u američkoj bazi na kubanskom otoku, ali ispujenje tog obećanja sada se čini nemogućim prije završetka njegova mandata u siječnju. Bez sporazuma s Kongresom u kojem republikanci imaju većinu, administracija demokratskog predsjednika nije pronašla novo mjesto na američkom tlu za zatočenje 50 zatvorenika, čije prebacivanje nije moguće.
A tko su ljudi koje je Amerika ispratila u Srbiju? Nijedan od njih nema veze sa Srbijom i ovo je prvi put da naša susjedna zemlja prima pritvorenike iz Guantanama. Za razliku od Bosne i Hercegovine i Crne Gore, javlja Jutarnji list.
Jedan od njih je Jemenac Abdul Rahman Ahmed, koji je 2001. godine uhićen u Afganistanu. Iako su 2009. godine Amerikanci zaključili kako bi bilo pametno da Ahmed ostane u pritvoru, šest godina poslije utvrdilo se da od njega 'nema opasnosti' i da zatvor više nije potrban.
U izvještaju se navodi da je Ahmed nekad bio 'nižerazredni borac Al Qaede', ali da je zapravo - nebitan. Također, navodi se da se u pritvoru promijenio, da je položio sve srednjoškolske ispite, savršeno naučio engleski, te da s njim nije bilo nikakvih problema u zadnje četiri godine.
- Radna skupina je zaključila da kod njega nema više ekstremističkih ideja i da se bez problema može adaptirati u zapadnjačkoj kulturi.
Drugi čovjek koji stiže u Srbiju je Omar Hamzajavič Abdulajev (37) iz Tadžikistana. On je na listi za puštanje još od 2009. nakon što su Amerikanci zaključili da od njega nema nikakve prijetnje.
Na kraju se postavlja pitanje zašto ih prebacuju u Srbiju? Odgovor je dao državni tajnik John Kerry.
