Britanski laburisti u nedjelju su poručili da žele nove opće izbore u slučaju da britanska premijerka Theresa May u parlamentu ne dobije potporu za dogovor o brexitu.

Vodstvo laburista nije do sada poduprlo ideju održavanja drugog referenduma o konačnom dogovoru, kazala je glasnogovornica stranke Rebecca Long-Bailey, no poštivat će svaku odluku članova stranke izraženu na godišnjem kongresu.

"Naše je stajalište da želimo opće izbore ako Theresa May ne bude imala potporu čak ni vlastite stranke za bilo kakav dogovor", kazala je ona za Sky News.

"Iako nije naše stajalište, ako članovi na kongresu odluče da žele glas naroda ili drugi referendum naravno da ćemo to poštivati".

Laburistička stranka okupila se u nedjelju na četverodnevnom kongresu u Liverpoolu prvenstveno radi brexita s obzirom na to da aktivisti i sindikati zahtijevaju da se prekine dvosmislenost i službeno podrži drugi nacionalni referendum o izlasku zemlje iz Europske unije. 

Dosad je šef glavne britanske oporbene stranke Jeremy Corbyn, kojemu EU nije posebno prirastao srcu te je mlako odradio kampanju za ostanak na referendumu u lipnju 2016., izbjegao tu osjetljivu temu na kojoj bi volio vidjeti konzervativnu premijerku Theresu May kako lomi zube.

No, šest mjeseci prije izlaska V. Britanije iz EU-a, sindikalna konfederacija TUC i važni igrači stranke poput londonskog gradonačelnika Sadiqa Khana bore se u korist drugog referenduma kako bi britansko stanovništvo imalo posljednju riječ oko konačnog sporazuma između Londona i Bruxellesa.

Više od stotinu lokalnih podružnica stranke zatražilo je da izglasa prijedlog u tom smislu na godišnjem okupljanju stranke. "Brexit će biti velika tema kongresa", rekao je Steven Fielding, profesor političke povijesti na sveučilištu Nottingham, i jedna od "najosjetljivijih".

Britanski laburisti u nedjelju su poručili da žele nove opće izbore u slučaju da britanska premijerka Theresa May u parlamentu ne dobije potporu za dogovor o brexitu.

Vodstvo laburista nije do sada poduprlo ideju održavanja drugog referenduma o konačnom dogovoru, kazala je glasnogovornica stranke Rebecca Long-Bailey, no poštivat će svaku odluku članova stranke izraženu na godišnjem kongresu.

"Naše je stajalište da želimo opće izbore ako Theresa May ne bude imala potporu čak ni vlastite stranke za bilo kakav dogovor", kazala je ona za Sky News.

"Iako nije naše stajalište, ako članovi na kongresu odluče da žele glas naroda ili drugi referendum naravno da ćemo to poštivati".

Laburistička stranka okupila se u nedjelju na četverodnevnom kongresu u Liverpoolu prvenstveno radi brexita s obzirom na to da aktivisti i sindikati zahtijevaju da se prekine dvosmislenost i službeno podrži drugi nacionalni referendum o izlasku zemlje iz Europske unije. 

Dosad je šef glavne britanske oporbene stranke Jeremy Corbyn, kojemu EU nije posebno prirastao srcu te je mlako odradio kampanju za ostanak na referendumu u lipnju 2016., izbjegao tu osjetljivu temu na kojoj bi volio vidjeti konzervativnu premijerku Theresu May kako lomi zube.

No, šest mjeseci prije izlaska V. Britanije iz EU-a, sindikalna konfederacija TUC i važni igrači stranke poput londonskog gradonačelnika Sadiqa Khana bore se u korist drugog referenduma kako bi britansko stanovništvo imalo posljednju riječ oko konačnog sporazuma između Londona i Bruxellesa.

Više od stotinu lokalnih podružnica stranke zatražilo je da izglasa prijedlog u tom smislu na godišnjem okupljanju stranke. "Brexit će biti velika tema kongresa", rekao je Steven Fielding, profesor političke povijesti na sveučilištu Nottingham, i jedna od "najosjetljivijih".
