Britanska kraljica Elizabeta II. izbjegla je 1970. u Australiji pokušaj ubojstva kad su nepoznate osobe pokušale skrenuti s tračnica vlak u kojem je putovala sa suprugom, princom Philipom, izjavio je u srijedu za novine umirovljeni policajac.

Golem balvan postavljen je na željezničku prugu kojom se kretao vlak 29. travnja 1970. s kraljicom prema gradu Orangeu, u državi Novi Južni Wales, ispričao je nekadašnji policijski istražitelj Cliff McHardy u lokalnim novinama Lithgow Mercury.

Vlak koji se polako kretao udario je u balvan kod grada Bowenfelsa, 150 km sjeverozapadno od Sydneyja, ali nije iskočio iz tračnica.

Među osumnjičenima su tijekom istrage bili simpatizeri IRA-e, tada u borbi protiv britanske dominacije u Sjevernoj Irskoj, kazao je McHardy.

Danas 81-godišnji policajac otkriva zavjeru protiv britanske kraljice gotovo 40 godina nakon događaja jer žali što krivci nikada nisu privedeni.

"Nikada nismo identificirali prave krivce jer kad smo ispitivali ljude, nismo mogli otkriti o čemu vodimo istragu, naša su pitanja ostala zagonetna", objasnio je on.

Po njemu, nije se moglo raditi o jednostavnoj nesreći ili činu vandalizma, jer je zapreka postavljena nakon prolaza druge lokomotive koja je prije toga pregledavala kolosijek.

Britanska kraljica Elizabeta II. izbjegla je 1970. u Australiji pokušaj ubojstva kad su nepoznate osobe pokušale skrenuti s tračnica vlak u kojem je putovala sa suprugom, princom Philipom, izjavio je u srijedu za novine umirovljeni policajac.

Golem balvan postavljen je na željezničku prugu kojom se kretao vlak 29. travnja 1970. s kraljicom prema gradu Orangeu, u državi Novi Južni Wales, ispričao je nekadašnji policijski istražitelj Cliff McHardy u lokalnim novinama Lithgow Mercury.

Vlak koji se polako kretao udario je u balvan kod grada Bowenfelsa, 150 km sjeverozapadno od Sydneyja, ali nije iskočio iz tračnica.

Među osumnjičenima su tijekom istrage bili simpatizeri IRA-e, tada u borbi protiv britanske dominacije u Sjevernoj Irskoj, kazao je McHardy.

Danas 81-godišnji policajac otkriva zavjeru protiv britanske kraljice gotovo 40 godina nakon događaja jer žali što krivci nikada nisu privedeni.

"Nikada nismo identificirali prave krivce jer kad smo ispitivali ljude, nismo mogli otkriti o čemu vodimo istragu, naša su pitanja ostala zagonetna", objasnio je on.

Po njemu, nije se moglo raditi o jednostavnoj nesreći ili činu vandalizma, jer je zapreka postavljena nakon prolaza druge lokomotive koja je prije toga pregledavala kolosijek.
