Kako se povećavaju šanse da se usvoji dogovor o velikim, bitnim promjenama u Europskoj uniji, odnosno Lisabonski ugovor, tako počinje utrka za najvažnije pozicije. Najveće bitke vodit će se za mjesto predsjednika EU-a i ministra vanjskih poslova EU-a.

Predsjednik EU-a bit će osoba koja će koordinirati 27 šefova država i vlada. Premda EU nije država, nego zajednica država, po Lisabonskom će ugovoru imati elemente državnosti, pa će i mjesto predsjednika EU-a biti onakvo kakvim će ga kreirati čovjek koji će ga voditi. Ako će to biti netko slab i beskrvan, onda će takvo biti i mjesto, a ako bude netko tko ima karizmu, temperament i zna se nametnuti, onda će i to mjesto biti važnije.

Službeno, ta će se osoba zvati predsjednik Europskoga vijeća, a to je naziv za summit šefova država i vlada 27 članica EU-a, kad se lideri sastaju u stalnom sastavu.

Bivši britanski premijer Tony Blair dao je na znanje da se uključuje u ovu utrku time što je Laburistička stranka priopćila da će ga podržati ako se kandidira. Blair i laburisti ovom izjavom opipavaju šanse svojeg bivšeg lidera, koje nisu malene. Blair se kardinalno okliznuo na Iraku i slijepoj podršci Bushu, ali je i “platio” time što su ga i javnost i stranka istjerale kao premijera.

Međutim, on je izvanserijski talentiran političar u punoj snazi i vrlo velike karizme, pa vlada osjećaj da EU sebi ne može dopustiti luksuz da ga ne iskoristi. No, britanska opozicijska Konzervativna stranka, koja će najvjerojatnije pobijediti na britanskim izborima 2010. godine, protivi se tom imenovanju.

Blair je veliki pristaša proširenja Unije i tzv. “europejac”, što u bruxelleskom žargonu označava osobu koja razumije smisao postojanja europske zajednice i zauzima se za nju.

Kako se povećavaju šanse da se usvoji dogovor o velikim, bitnim promjenama u Europskoj uniji, odnosno Lisabonski ugovor, tako počinje utrka za najvažnije pozicije. Najveće bitke vodit će se za mjesto predsjednika EU-a i ministra vanjskih poslova EU-a.

Predsjednik EU-a bit će osoba koja će koordinirati 27 šefova država i vlada. Premda EU nije država, nego zajednica država, po Lisabonskom će ugovoru imati elemente državnosti, pa će i mjesto predsjednika EU-a biti onakvo kakvim će ga kreirati čovjek koji će ga voditi. Ako će to biti netko slab i beskrvan, onda će takvo biti i mjesto, a ako bude netko tko ima karizmu, temperament i zna se nametnuti, onda će i to mjesto biti važnije.

Službeno, ta će se osoba zvati predsjednik Europskoga vijeća, a to je naziv za summit šefova država i vlada 27 članica EU-a, kad se lideri sastaju u stalnom sastavu.

Bivši britanski premijer Tony Blair dao je na znanje da se uključuje u ovu utrku time što je Laburistička stranka priopćila da će ga podržati ako se kandidira. Blair i laburisti ovom izjavom opipavaju šanse svojeg bivšeg lidera, koje nisu malene. Blair se kardinalno okliznuo na Iraku i slijepoj podršci Bushu, ali je i “platio” time što su ga i javnost i stranka istjerale kao premijera.

Međutim, on je izvanserijski talentiran političar u punoj snazi i vrlo velike karizme, pa vlada osjećaj da EU sebi ne može dopustiti luksuz da ga ne iskoristi. No, britanska opozicijska Konzervativna stranka, koja će najvjerojatnije pobijediti na britanskim izborima 2010. godine, protivi se tom imenovanju.

Blair je veliki pristaša proširenja Unije i tzv. “europejac”, što u bruxelleskom žargonu označava osobu koja razumije smisao postojanja europske zajednice i zauzima se za nju.
