Brazil je zabilježio najviše požara u Amazonskoj prašumi za mjesec lipanj u 14 godina, pokazuju vladini podaci u četvrtak, a strahuje se da bi ekstremna suša u mnogim dijelovima regije mogla izazvati još više požara idućih mjeseci.

Nacionalna svemirska istraživačka agencija Inpe zabilježila je 2308 žarišta u Amazoniji u lipnju, 2,7 posto više nego u lipnju prošle godine kada su požari dosegnuli najvišu razinu u 13 godina. 

Broj požara u lipnju tek je djelić onoga što se može vidjeti na vrhuncu sezone suše u kolovozu i rujnu pa klimatski aktivisti strahuju da će biti još gore.

"S velikim brojem požara već na početku ljeta, kada pada manje kiša u Amazoniji, taj broj će vjerojatno rasti", priopćio je Greenpeace Brasil. 

Znanstvenici upozoravaju da bi suša duž amazonskog takozvanog "luka krčenja šume" i u močvarama Pantanala mogla izazvati još goru sezonu požara. Hidroelektrane u cijeloj zemlji imaju najmanji dotok vode u više od devet desetljeća zbog velikih suša, navelo je Ministarstvo energetike.

Požare u Amazoniji većinom su izazvali ljudi, a prirodni požari vrlo su rijetki. Protuzakonito se sjeklo vrijedno drveće i palila vatra kako bi se očistio prostor za stoku. 

Suša povećava izglede da požari izmaknu kontroli. 

Predsjednik Jair Bolsonaro zabranio je na 120 dana paljenje vatre na otvorenom iz mjere opreza i rasporedio vojsku da zaštiti regiju od požara i krčenja šuma. 

Isti potezi povučeni su 2019. i 2020. godine i bili su neuspješni. U cijeloj 2020. godini, požari u Amazoniji dosegli su najveću razinu u četiri godine, dok je krčenje šuma doseglo najveću razinu u 12 godina, navodi Inpe.

Brazil je zabilježio najviše požara u Amazonskoj prašumi za mjesec lipanj u 14 godina, pokazuju vladini podaci u četvrtak, a strahuje se da bi ekstremna suša u mnogim dijelovima regije mogla izazvati još više požara idućih mjeseci.

Nacionalna svemirska istraživačka agencija Inpe zabilježila je 2308 žarišta u Amazoniji u lipnju, 2,7 posto više nego u lipnju prošle godine kada su požari dosegnuli najvišu razinu u 13 godina. 

Broj požara u lipnju tek je djelić onoga što se može vidjeti na vrhuncu sezone suše u kolovozu i rujnu pa klimatski aktivisti strahuju da će biti još gore.

"S velikim brojem požara već na početku ljeta, kada pada manje kiša u Amazoniji, taj broj će vjerojatno rasti", priopćio je Greenpeace Brasil. 

Znanstvenici upozoravaju da bi suša duž amazonskog takozvanog "luka krčenja šume" i u močvarama Pantanala mogla izazvati još goru sezonu požara. Hidroelektrane u cijeloj zemlji imaju najmanji dotok vode u više od devet desetljeća zbog velikih suša, navelo je Ministarstvo energetike.

Požare u Amazoniji većinom su izazvali ljudi, a prirodni požari vrlo su rijetki. Protuzakonito se sjeklo vrijedno drveće i palila vatra kako bi se očistio prostor za stoku. 

Suša povećava izglede da požari izmaknu kontroli. 

Predsjednik Jair Bolsonaro zabranio je na 120 dana paljenje vatre na otvorenom iz mjere opreza i rasporedio vojsku da zaštiti regiju od požara i krčenja šuma. 

Isti potezi povučeni su 2019. i 2020. godine i bili su neuspješni. U cijeloj 2020. godini, požari u Amazoniji dosegli su najveću razinu u četiri godine, dok je krčenje šuma doseglo najveću razinu u 12 godina, navodi Inpe.

Brazil je zabilježio najviše požara u Amazonskoj prašumi za mjesec lipanj u 14 godina, pokazuju vladini podaci u četvrtak, a strahuje se da bi ekstremna suša u mnogim dijelovima regije mogla izazvati još više požara idućih mjeseci.

Nacionalna svemirska istraživačka agencija Inpe zabilježila je 2308 žarišta u Amazoniji u lipnju, 2,7 posto više nego u lipnju prošle godine kada su požari dosegnuli najvišu razinu u 13 godina. 

Broj požara u lipnju tek je djelić onoga što se može vidjeti na vrhuncu sezone suše u kolovozu i rujnu pa klimatski aktivisti strahuju da će biti još gore.
