Ali Agca, Turčin koji je pucao na papu Ivana Pavla II. i ranio ga, zatražio je poljsko državljanstvo jer želi živjeti u zemlji pokojnog poglavara katoličke crkve kojeg zove svojim "duhovnim bratom".

Poljsko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova, međutim, kaže da su izgledi Mehmeta Ali Agce da dobije državljanstvo "minimalni" jer nije napravio ništa za većinski katoličku domovinu Ivana Pavla II.

Agca također želi biti premješten u zatvor u Poljskoj kako bi tamo služio ostatak svoje kazne za jedno drugo djelo, rekao je njegov odvjetnik Haci Ali Ozhan agenciji Associated Press.

- Izabrao je Poljsku jer je to Papina zemlja. Zato što mu je Papa oprostio i blisko ga pratio, vjerujemo da će molba biti prihvaćena - rekao je Ozhan.

Agca je pucao i teško ranio Ivana Pavla II. na Trgu Svetoga Petra u Vatikanu 13. svibnja 1981. godine. Dvije godine poslije Papa se u talijanskom zatvoru sastao s Agcom i oprostio mu napad.

Agca je za napad odslužio 19 godina u talijanskom zatvoru. Trenutno služi zatvorsku kaznu u Turskoj zbog ubojstva istaknutog novinara Abdija Ipekcija u Turskoj 1979. godine i trebao bi biti pušten 2010. godine.

Što je motiv njegovih zločina i dalje je tajna no poznato je da je pripadao ekstremno desnoj turskoj organizaciji Sivi vukovi koja je tijekom sedamdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća bila upletena u politički motivirana ubojstva.

- Bio bih ponosan kada bih postao član plemenite poljske nacije, ako se moj zahtjev za dobivanje poljskog državljanstva prihvati - napisao je Agca u molbi upućenoj poljskom predsjedniku Lechu Kaczynskom koji ima ovlasti dati ili uskratiti poljsko državljanstvo.

Agcin je odvjetnik Agcinu molbu predao u četvrtak poljskom veleposlanstvu u Ankari.

Ali Agca, Turčin koji je pucao na papu Ivana Pavla II. i ranio ga, zatražio je poljsko državljanstvo jer želi živjeti u zemlji pokojnog poglavara katoličke crkve kojeg zove svojim "duhovnim bratom".

Poljsko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova, međutim, kaže da su izgledi Mehmeta Ali Agce da dobije državljanstvo "minimalni" jer nije napravio ništa za većinski katoličku domovinu Ivana Pavla II.

Agca također želi biti premješten u zatvor u Poljskoj kako bi tamo služio ostatak svoje kazne za jedno drugo djelo, rekao je njegov odvjetnik Haci Ali Ozhan agenciji Associated Press.

- Izabrao je Poljsku jer je to Papina zemlja. Zato što mu je Papa oprostio i blisko ga pratio, vjerujemo da će molba biti prihvaćena - rekao je Ozhan.

Agca je pucao i teško ranio Ivana Pavla II. na Trgu Svetoga Petra u Vatikanu 13. svibnja 1981. godine. Dvije godine poslije Papa se u talijanskom zatvoru sastao s Agcom i oprostio mu napad.

Agca je za napad odslužio 19 godina u talijanskom zatvoru. Trenutno služi zatvorsku kaznu u Turskoj zbog ubojstva istaknutog novinara Abdija Ipekcija u Turskoj 1979. godine i trebao bi biti pušten 2010. godine.

Što je motiv njegovih zločina i dalje je tajna no poznato je da je pripadao ekstremno desnoj turskoj organizaciji Sivi vukovi koja je tijekom sedamdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća bila upletena u politički motivirana ubojstva.

- Bio bih ponosan kada bih postao član plemenite poljske nacije, ako se moj zahtjev za dobivanje poljskog državljanstva prihvati - napisao je Agca u molbi upućenoj poljskom predsjedniku Lechu Kaczynskom koji ima ovlasti dati ili uskratiti poljsko državljanstvo.

Agcin je odvjetnik Agcinu molbu predao u četvrtak poljskom veleposlanstvu u Ankari.
