Ovih se dana na Kosovu rijetki preživjeli prisjećaju davne srbijanske akcije istrebljenja u selu Donji Prekaz u općini Srbica.
Besarta je imala samo 10 godina kad su joj snage srpske policije pobile čitavu obitelj. Jedina je preživjela akciju specijalnih jedinica Miloševićevog MUP-a od 5. do 7. ožujka 1998. U ovome napadu je ubijeno više od 50 ljudi, od čega je bilo čak 18 žena i desetero djece mlađe od deset godina. Smaknuti su svi članovi uže i šire obitelji Jašari, među kojima i Besartin stric Adem Jašari, zapovjednik tada još gerilske OVK, Oslobodilačke vojske Kosova.
Desetogodišnja Besarta prisjećala se kasnije za BBC kako ih je majka u planinskoj seoskoj kući grlila da se ne bi plašili pucnjeva i bombi, te kako im je prije upada sijača smrti davala kruh i vodu. Netom prije ulaska egzekutora u kuću sakrila se ispod kreveta: svi ostali ubrzo su bili mrtvi. U istoj prostoriji ostao je ležati i ubijeni Adem Jašari sa suprugom, simbol otpora zločinačkom režimu Slobodana Miloševića. Danas njegovo ime nosi prištinski aerdorom i nogometni stadion u Mitrovici.
Za Srbiju je Jašari bio vođa „terorističke grupe", a njegova pobijena obitelj kolateralna žrtva koju je svjesno zloupotrijebio ‘koristeći je kao živi štit u središtu albanskih separatista‘. Usprkos glavnini pobijenih civila, žena i djece akcija kod Srbice do danas je za beogradske vlasti službeno ostala ‘legitimna antiteroristička akcija‘.

„Znam da su, kad je završena ta akcija, i mnogi Albanci u mahalama Geca i Gornje Prekaze slavili, jer je Jašari ulazio u njihove kuće i silovao im žene i ćerke, jer je bio kriminalac par ekselans", kaže Goran Radosavljević Guri, srpski policijski general u penziji koji je sudjelovao u hrabroj akciji protiv žena i djece za BBC na srpskom.
Izmišljotinama o silovanjima danas pravda vlastiti zločin.
Usprkos njegovim lažima, povijest i tragedija obitelji Jašari ostala je duboko ugrađena u projekt slobode i osamostaljenja Kosova, a posebno je bitna u ujedinjenju vojne i političke komponente u kosovskom otporu srbijanskom režimu. Poslije akcije u Drenici, oružani sukob sigurnosnih snaga pod komandom Slobodana Miloševića i OVK postali su doslovno svakodnevni, a iduće godine NATO je započeo i bombardiranje tadašnje Savezne Republike Jugoslavije, ponajviše radi srbijanske okrutnosti na Kosovu.
Na mjestu stradanja obitelji Jašari danas je podignut Memorijalni kompleks koji svake godine obilaze najviši kosovski dužnosnici, a gotovo da nema ni većeg mjesta na Kosovu da u njemu Ademu Jašariju nije podignut spomenik.
„Adem Jašari je heroj našeg djetinjstva", rekla je predsjednica Kosova Vjosa Osmani, odajući počast ispred grobova obitelji Jašari u Prekazu.

Adem Jašari je rođen 1955. godine, te je završio srednju tehničku školu. Njegov otac Šaban Jašari bio je prvi učitelj u Drenici poslije Drugog svjetskog rata, te je kao školovan čovjek također život posvetio borbi za slobodu Albanaca, zbog čega je bio gonjen i zatvaran.
Očevim stopama krenuli su nakon odrastanja i sinovi, Hamza i Adem, koji su bili među prvim organizatorima demonstracija Albanaca na Kosovu protiv oduzimanja autonomije ovoj pokrajini 1989. godine. Adem Jašari prethodno je bio na vojnoj obuci u Albaniji 1991. godine, zbog čega im je policija prvi put opkolila i napala obiteljsku kuću još u prosincu 1991. Sve od tada je s puškom u ruci širio svoju grupu otpora i širom Kosova mobilizirao Albance. Bio je osuđen u odsutnosti 1997. u Prištini.
Na srbijanski državni teror Albanci su odgovorili primjerenim nasiljem, te su pripadnici OVK-a sve češće 1997. i 1998. napadali policijske stanice. Kad su Adem i dio boraca u siječnju 1998. pred racijom pobjegli u šumu, srbijanski policajci silovali su dvije maloljetne djevojke iz obitelji Jašari. To je bila velika sramota za albansku čast i Adem Jašari je odlučio da neće bježati, makar se svi žrtvovali. Jašari je umro kao čovjek koji je branio vlastito ognjište i vlastitu familiju, te prava na život svog naroda. Nije išao nikoga napadati u Kragujevac ili Valjevo, poginuo je u vlastitoj kući od srpskog metka. Samo po srbijanskim (ili možda ruskim) kriterijima on može biti i danas smatran ‘teroristom‘.

„Adem Jašari svakako je bio konzervativan čovjek, pomalo i militantan, ali je daleko od pojma terorizma onoliko koliko mu je bilo strano svako nasilje prema nenaoružanim i bespomoćnim civilima. Jašariji prema svim validnim saznanjima nisu napadali bespomoćne civile ili nenaoružane druge osobe srpske, albanske ili bilo koje druge nacionalnosti, premda su povremeno koristili prekomjernu silu protiv zarobljenih srpskih policajaca ili vojnika”, reći će danas nizozemski analitičar sukoba Caspar ten Dam za BBC na srpskom.
Srbijanski dužnosnici i dalje, 25 godina kasnije, svejedno ustrajavaju na priči kako je Jašari svjesno žrtvovao cijelu obitelj i cijelo selo, pucajući uporno iz mitraljeskih gnijezda po srbijanskim snagama reda i koristeći djecu kao živi štit. Za albansku čast kakvu je njegovao Jašari takvo je što nezamislivo i nad tuđom, a kamoli svojom djecom, no za Gorana Radosavljevića, tadašnjega pomoćnika komandanta policijskog štaba Srbije za Kosovo i Metohiju, ‘sve su žrtve legitimne, pa i dječje, jer su svi stradali u borbi‘.

Jedan od časnijih i istinoljubljivijih srbijanskih reportera Dejan Anastasijević bio je u Prekazu baš u ožujku 1998. U tekstu „Mrtvački ples" objavljenom u tadašnjem Vremenu Anastasijević je opisao da je na kilometar od centra Srbice, uz put prema Glogovcu, ispod nadstrešnice jednog skladišta zatekao „morbidne eksponate" - 49 leševa stradalih kod Donjih Prekaza, među kojima je bilo 12 žena, 13 dece i pet staraca.
„Neki su očigledno stradali od metaka, neki od šrapnela, neki od noža, a troje ih je bilo sasvim izgorjelih. Jedan desetogodišnji dječak imao je rupu od metka posred čela i nikakvu drugu vidljivu povredu", zapisao je Anastasijević, a kolumna je objavljena i u njegovoj knjizi „Ko mi je stavio bombe na prozor".

Ovih se dana na Kosovu rijetki preživjeli prisjećaju davne srbijanske akcije istrebljenja u selu Donji Prekaz u općini Srbica.
Besarta je imala samo 10 godina kad su joj snage srpske policije pobile čitavu obitelj. Jedina je preživjela akciju specijalnih jedinica Miloševićevog MUP-a od 5. do 7. ožujka 1998. U ovome napadu je ubijeno više od 50 ljudi, od čega je bilo čak 18 žena i desetero djece mlađe od deset godina. Smaknuti su svi članovi uže i šire obitelji Jašari, među kojima i Besartin stric Adem Jašari, zapovjednik tada još gerilske OVK, Oslobodilačke vojske Kosova.
Desetogodišnja Besarta prisjećala se kasnije za BBC kako ih je majka u planinskoj seoskoj kući grlila da se ne bi plašili pucnjeva i bombi, te kako im je prije upada sijača smrti davala kruh i vodu. Netom prije ulaska egzekutora u kuću sakrila se ispod kreveta: svi ostali ubrzo su bili mrtvi. U istoj prostoriji ostao je ležati i ubijeni Adem Jašari sa suprugom, simbol otpora zločinačkom režimu Slobodana Miloševića. Danas njegovo ime nosi prištinski aerdorom i nogometni stadion u Mitrovici.
Za Srbiju je Jašari bio vođa „terorističke grupe", a njegova pobijena obitelj kolateralna žrtva koju je svjesno zloupotrijebio ‘koristeći je kao živi štit u središtu albanskih separatista‘. Usprkos glavnini pobijenih civila, žena i djece akcija kod Srbice do danas je za beogradske vlasti službeno ostala ‘legitimna antiteroristička akcija‘.

„Znam da su, kad je završena ta akcija, i mnogi Albanci u mahalama Geca i Gornje Prekaze slavili, jer je Jašari ulazio u njihove kuće i silovao im žene i ćerke, jer je bio kriminalac par ekselans", kaže Goran Radosavljević Guri, srpski policijski general u penziji koji je sudjelovao u hrabroj akciji protiv žena i djece za BBC na srpskom.
Izmišljotinama o silovanjima danas pravda vlastiti zločin.
Usprkos njegovim lažima, povijest i tragedija obitelji Jašari ostala je duboko ugrađena u projekt slobode i osamostaljenja Kosova, a posebno je bitna u ujedinjenju vojne i političke komponente u kosovskom otporu srbijanskom režimu. Poslije akcije u Drenici, oružani sukob sigurnosnih snaga pod komandom Slobodana Miloševića i OVK postali su doslovno svakodnevni, a iduće godine NATO je započeo i bombardiranje tadašnje Savezne Republike Jugoslavije, ponajviše radi srbijanske okrutnosti na Kosovu.
Na mjestu stradanja obitelji Jašari danas je podignut Memorijalni kompleks koji svake godine obilaze najviši kosovski dužnosnici, a gotovo da nema ni većeg mjesta na Kosovu da u njemu Ademu Jašariju nije podignut spomenik.
„Adem Jašari je heroj našeg djetinjstva", rekla je predsjednica Kosova Vjosa Osmani, odajući počast ispred grobova obitelji Jašari u Prekazu.

Adem Jašari je rođen 1955. godine, te je završio srednju tehničku školu. Njegov otac Šaban Jašari bio je prvi učitelj u Drenici poslije Drugog svjetskog rata, te je kao školovan čovjek također život posvetio borbi za slobodu Albanaca, zbog čega je bio gonjen i zatvaran.
Očevim stopama krenuli su nakon odrastanja i sinovi, Hamza i Adem, koji su bili među prvim organizatorima demonstracija Albanaca na Kosovu protiv oduzimanja autonomije ovoj pokrajini 1989. godine. Adem Jašari prethodno je bio na vojnoj obuci u Albaniji 1991. godine, zbog čega im je policija prvi put opkolila i napala obiteljsku kuću još u prosincu 1991. Sve od tada je s puškom u ruci širio svoju grupu otpora i širom Kosova mobilizirao Albance. Bio je osuđen u odsutnosti 1997. u Prištini.
Na srbijanski državni teror Albanci su odgovorili primjerenim nasiljem, te su pripadnici OVK-a sve češće 1997. i 1998. napadali policijske stanice. Kad su Adem i dio boraca u siječnju 1998. pred racijom pobjegli u šumu, srbijanski policajci silovali su dvije maloljetne djevojke iz obitelji Jašari. To je bila velika sramota za albansku čast i Adem Jašari je odlučio da neće bježati, makar se svi žrtvovali. Jašari je umro kao čovjek koji je branio vlastito ognjište i vlastitu familiju, te prava na život svog naroda. Nije išao nikoga napadati u Kragujevac ili Valjevo, poginuo je u vlastitoj kući od srpskog metka. Samo po srbijanskim (ili možda ruskim) kriterijima on može biti i danas smatran ‘teroristom‘.

„Adem Jašari svakako je bio konzervativan čovjek, pomalo i militantan, ali je daleko od pojma terorizma onoliko koliko mu je bilo strano svako nasilje prema nenaoružanim i bespomoćnim civilima. Jašariji prema svim validnim saznanjima nisu napadali bespomoćne civile ili nenaoružane druge osobe srpske, albanske ili bilo koje druge nacionalnosti, premda su povremeno koristili prekomjernu silu protiv zarobljenih srpskih policajaca ili vojnika”, reći će danas nizozemski analitičar sukoba Caspar ten Dam za BBC na srpskom.
Srbijanski dužnosnici i dalje, 25 godina kasnije, svejedno ustrajavaju na priči kako je Jašari svjesno žrtvovao cijelu obitelj i cijelo selo, pucajući uporno iz mitraljeskih gnijezda po srbijanskim snagama reda i koristeći djecu kao živi štit. Za albansku čast kakvu je njegovao Jašari takvo je što nezamislivo i nad tuđom, a kamoli svojom djecom, no za Gorana Radosavljevića, tadašnjega pomoćnika komandanta policijskog štaba Srbije za Kosovo i Metohiju, ‘sve su žrtve legitimne, pa i dječje, jer su svi stradali u borbi‘.

Jedan od časnijih i istinoljubljivijih srbijanskih reportera Dejan Anastasijević bio je u Prekazu baš u ožujku 1998. U tekstu „Mrtvački ples" objavljenom u tadašnjem Vremenu Anastasijević je opisao da je na kilometar od centra Srbice, uz put prema Glogovcu, ispod nadstrešnice jednog skladišta zatekao „morbidne eksponate" - 49 leševa stradalih kod Donjih Prekaza, među kojima je bilo 12 žena, 13 dece i pet staraca.
„Neki su očigledno stradali od metaka, neki od šrapnela, neki od noža, a troje ih je bilo sasvim izgorjelih. Jedan desetogodišnji dječak imao je rupu od metka posred čela i nikakvu drugu vidljivu povredu", zapisao je Anastasijević, a kolumna je objavljena i u njegovoj knjizi „Ko mi je stavio bombe na prozor".
