Koronavirus je opasno zavolio naše zemlje. Kad bi se smrtnost u odnosu na milijun stanovnika gledala po svjetskim regijama, prema podacima sa stranice Worldometer, mrtvu utrku – u doslovnom smislu – vodili bi srednja Europa i Balkan.

Iako srednja Europa u tom srazu ima prvoplasiranu Mađarsku (2857 mrtvih na milijun ljudi) i drugoplasiranu Češku (2729), kao i sedmoplasiranu Slovačku (2139), i Balkan ima konje za utrku.

Preciznije, u neslavnom "top 10" Balkan ima čak pet svojih konja: od trećeg do šestog mjesta poredali su se Bosna i Hercegovina (2608), Crna Gora (2375), Bugarska (2370) i Sjeverna Makedonija (2313), a Slovenija je deveta (2044).

Među prvih 10 država samo dvije ne spadaju ni u srednju Europu ni na Balkan: osma Belgija (2079) i deseta Italija (1996).

Ako s ovog popisa smrti maknemo Bugarsku, dobijemo da Balkan čine zemlje bivše Jugoslavije. Vidimo da od šest bivših republika čak četiri ulaze među deset zemalja s najvećom relativnom smrtnošću: BiH (3.), Crna Gora (4.), Makedonija (6.) i Slovenija (9.). Od Vardara do Triglava svjetlom smrti obasjana.

Ni Hrvatska nije daleko – s 1734 mrtva na milijun stanovnika mi smo na 16. mjestu, iza SAD-a (1771), a ispred Španjolske i Portugala (po 1669). Tek je Srbija nešto bolja od ostatka bivše države – sa 728 mrtvih na milijun ljudi nalazi se oko 50. mjesta.

Neslavni šampion - Crna Gora

Napomenimo da takva situacija traje već neko vrijeme. Kad smo sličnu komparativnu analizu radili prije mjesec dana, plasman i redoslijed bivših jugoslavenskih republika u tablici relativne smrtnosti bili su gotovo identični.

I tada je BiH bila treća, a Crna Gora četvrta, jedino su Slovenija i Makedonija u međuvremenu zamijenile mjesta: Slovenija je sa šestog pala na deveto mjesto, a Makedonija s devetog skočila na šesto.

Hrvatska se, pak, u proteklih mjesec dana s 23. popela na 16. mjesto, a čak je i Srbija donekle pokvarila rezultat, skočivši sa 60. na 50. mjesto.

(U ovoj kalkulaciji ne računamo države s vrlo malom populacijom, poput Gibraltara, San Marina, Andore ili Luksemburga.)

Slične podatke nalazimo i u rubrici koja se odnosi na broj slučajeva zaraze na milijun stanovnika. Dapače, te su brojke još poraznije za zemlje bivše Jugoslavije. Tako najveći broj zaraženih na milijun stanovnika u čitavom svijetu ima Crna Gora (154.835). Ukupno su dosad samo tri države "probile" psihološku granicu od 100.000 zaraženih na milijun ljudi, a među njima je, osim neslavnog šampiona Crne Gore, još i Slovenija, koja je zauzela treće mjesto (115.571).

Između njih, na drugom mjestu ukotvila se Češka (152.046), a sve četiri preostale bivše republike SFRJ nalaze se među prvih dvadeset zemalja s najvećim relativnim udjelom zaraženih: Hrvatska je deseta (81.332), Srbija dvanaesta (79.000), Makedonija petnaesta (72.962), a BiH dvadeseta (60.623).

Balkanska nonšalancija

Tako se pokazalo da je treći pandemijski val pokosio prostor bivše Jugoslavije, koji se na početku pandemije pokazao otpornijim od drugih dijelova Europe i svijeta. Podsjetimo, prošlog proljeća pandemija je harala velikim i bogatim državama zapadne Europe, s vrhuncem kataklizme u Italiji, u sjevernoj pokrajini Lombardiji i gradu Bergamu. Činilo se tada da koronavirus zaobilazi Balkan, pa su se razmatrale i teorije o zaštitnom djelovanju BCG cjepiva protiv tuberkuloze – kojim je populacija Jugoslavije bila procijepljena u socijalizmu – pa čak i one o nekakvom posebnom "balkanskom genu". No pokazalo se, ipak, da je koronavirus intenzivno stigao i na Balkan, gdje već mjesecima ostavlja teške posljedice: sada čak četiri bivše jugoslavenske države imaju veću relativnu smrtnost od Italije.

Teško je u ovom trenutku pouzdano notirati uzroke malignog preokreta situacije na prostoru bivše Jugoslavije. Vjerojatno je pogoršanju stanja kumovao i novi britanski soj virusa, a nezanemariv udio u širenju zaraze i povećanom broju mrtvih očito imaju i balkanska nonšalancija i ovdašnja raširena sumnjičavost prema znanosti. A ni stožeri se nisu proslavili.

Koronavirus je opasno zavolio naše zemlje. Kad bi se smrtnost u odnosu na milijun stanovnika gledala po svjetskim regijama, prema podacima sa stranice Worldometer, mrtvu utrku – u doslovnom smislu – vodili bi srednja Europa i Balkan.

Iako srednja Europa u tom srazu ima prvoplasiranu Mađarsku (2857 mrtvih na milijun ljudi) i drugoplasiranu Češku (2729), kao i sedmoplasiranu Slovačku (2139), i Balkan ima konje za utrku.

Preciznije, u neslavnom "top 10" Balkan ima čak pet svojih konja: od trećeg do šestog mjesta poredali su se Bosna i Hercegovina (2608), Crna Gora (2375), Bugarska (2370) i Sjeverna Makedonija (2313), a Slovenija je deveta (2044).

Među prvih 10 država samo dvije ne spadaju ni u srednju Europu ni na Balkan: osma Belgija (2079) i deseta Italija (1996).

Ako s ovog popisa smrti maknemo Bugarsku, dobijemo da Balkan čine zemlje bivše Jugoslavije. Vidimo da od šest bivših republika čak četiri ulaze među deset zemalja s najvećom relativnom smrtnošću: BiH (3.), Crna Gora (4.), Makedonija (6.) i Slovenija (9.). Od Vardara do Triglava svjetlom smrti obasjana.

Ni Hrvatska nije daleko – s 1734 mrtva na milijun stanovnika mi smo na 16. mjestu, iza SAD-a (1771), a ispred Španjolske i Portugala (po 1669). Tek je Srbija nešto bolja od ostatka bivše države – sa 728 mrtvih na milijun ljudi nalazi se oko 50. mjesta.

Neslavni šampion - Crna Gora

Napomenimo da takva situacija traje već neko vrijeme. Kad smo sličnu komparativnu analizu radili prije mjesec dana, plasman i redoslijed bivših jugoslavenskih republika u tablici relativne smrtnosti bili su gotovo identični.

I tada je BiH bila treća, a Crna Gora četvrta, jedino su Slovenija i Makedonija u međuvremenu zamijenile mjesta: Slovenija je sa šestog pala na deveto mjesto, a Makedonija s devetog skočila na šesto.

Hrvatska se, pak, u proteklih mjesec dana s 23. popela na 16. mjesto, a čak je i Srbija donekle pokvarila rezultat, skočivši sa 60. na 50. mjesto.

(U ovoj kalkulaciji ne računamo države s vrlo malom populacijom, poput Gibraltara, San Marina, Andore ili Luksemburga.)

Slične podatke nalazimo i u rubrici koja se odnosi na broj slučajeva zaraze na milijun stanovnika. Dapače, te su brojke još poraznije za zemlje bivše Jugoslavije. Tako najveći broj zaraženih na milijun stanovnika u čitavom svijetu ima Crna Gora (154.835). Ukupno su dosad samo tri države "probile" psihološku granicu od 100.000 zaraženih na milijun ljudi, a među njima je, osim neslavnog šampiona Crne Gore, još i Slovenija, koja je zauzela treće mjesto (115.571).

Između njih, na drugom mjestu ukotvila se Češka (152.046), a sve četiri preostale bivše republike SFRJ nalaze se među prvih dvadeset zemalja s najvećim relativnim udjelom zaraženih: Hrvatska je deseta (81.332), Srbija dvanaesta (79.000), Makedonija petnaesta (72.962), a BiH dvadeseta (60.623).

Balkanska nonšalancija

Tako se pokazalo da je treći pandemijski val pokosio prostor bivše Jugoslavije, koji se na početku pandemije pokazao otpornijim od drugih dijelova Europe i svijeta. Podsjetimo, prošlog proljeća pandemija je harala velikim i bogatim državama zapadne Europe, s vrhuncem kataklizme u Italiji, u sjevernoj pokrajini Lombardiji i gradu Bergamu. Činilo se tada da koronavirus zaobilazi Balkan, pa su se razmatrale i teorije o zaštitnom djelovanju BCG cjepiva protiv tuberkuloze – kojim je populacija Jugoslavije bila procijepljena u socijalizmu – pa čak i one o nekakvom posebnom "balkanskom genu". No pokazalo se, ipak, da je koronavirus intenzivno stigao i na Balkan, gdje već mjesecima ostavlja teške posljedice: sada čak četiri bivše jugoslavenske države imaju veću relativnu smrtnost od Italije.

Teško je u ovom trenutku pouzdano notirati uzroke malignog preokreta situacije na prostoru bivše Jugoslavije. Vjerojatno je pogoršanju stanja kumovao i novi britanski soj virusa, a nezanemariv udio u širenju zaraze i povećanom broju mrtvih očito imaju i balkanska nonšalancija i ovdašnja raširena sumnjičavost prema znanosti. A ni stožeri se nisu proslavili.
