Cijeli niz manifestacija održava se ovih dana u Splitu u čast svetog Jeronima, zaštitnika Dalmacije, jednog od četiri najveća zapadna crkvena naučitelja, kojem je u cijeloj Katoličkoj crkvi posvećena ova godina, jer se obilježava 1600. obljetnica njegove smrti u Betlehemu, 30. rujna 420. Papa Frane je u Jeronimov spomen Treću nedjelju kroz godinu proglasio Nedjeljom Božje Riječi i ona će se toga dana svake godine slaviti u cijeloj Crkvi.

Razlog za to više je nego opravdan, budući da je sveti Jere za svoga života preveo cijelu Bibliju s hebrejskog i grčkog jezika na tada sveprisutni latinski jezik, popularnu Vulgatu, koja je pomogla standardizaciji narodnih jezika u Europi, pa tako i našeg hrvatskog jezika. U tome je za nas značajnu ulogu imao i otac hrvatske književnosti Marko Marulić, koji je prije pet stotina godina, 1521., objavio prvo djelo na narodnome jeziku pod naslovom "Libar Marka Marula Splićanina", u kojem se uzdrži istorija svete udovice Judit, u versi harvacki složena. Osim toga, Marulića je privlačio i Jeronimov monaški život pa je znao boraviti s pustinjacima koji su obitavali na južnim marjanskim padinama, gdje su i danas njihove ćelije u brdovitim stijenama, te crkva posvećena upravo svetom Jeri.

Dani svetoga Jeronima počeli su dvodnevnim Međunarodnim znanstvenim skupom "Sanctus Hieronymus Dalmatiae vir illustris", odnosno na hrvatskom "Sveti Jeronim znameniti Dalmatinski muž". Potom je u dvorištu Nadbiskupskog ordinarijata predstavljena prigodna izložba uz kip svetog Jeronima, autorski rad akademskog kipara Vene Jerkovića, koji će na inicijativu konventualca fra Tomislava Glavnika uskoro biti podignut u bazilici Marijina usnuća na Sionu u Jeruzalemu.

Dani se nastavljaju medijskom promocijom knjige "Svetom Jeronimu posvećeno" u utorak 29. rujna ujutro, u 9.30, u samostanu sv. Frane na Obali u Splitu, koju je objavio mjesečnik "Veritas".

Istoga dana, u 18 sati, na Medicinskom fakultetu u Splitu bit će priređena svečana akademija u povodu jubileja 1600 godina smrti svetog Jeronima. Na njoj će predavanje održati kardinal José Tolentino Calaça de Mendonça, arhivist i bibliotekar svete Rimske crkve, koji će ekskluzivno objaviti novosti o svetom Jeronimu do kojih je došao istražujući u vatikanskim bibliotekama.

Na sam blagdan svetog Jere, što je ujedno i Dan Splitsko-dalmatinske županije – jer, kako je rekao župan Blaženko Boban, na čiju je inicijativu prije dvije godine 30. rujna proglašen Danom županije, Jeronim je čeznuo za svojim rodnim dalmatinskim krajem – spomenuti Jeronimov kip trebao bi blagosloviti kardinal Tolentin. Šteta je samo što ga nije blagoslovio Papin državni tajnik, kardinal Pietro Parolin, koji je prije nekoliko dana bio u Splitu i Solinu.

Nakon blagoslova kipa u 10 sati bit će upriličeno otvaranje Riznice splitske katedrale, čiji je novi stalni postav smješten preko puta prvostolnice svetog Dujma, u palači Skočibučić-Lukaris. Navečer u 18 sati euharistijsko slavlje na kraju Dana svetog Jeronima, u novoj solinskoj crkvi Svete Obitelji, predvodi kardinal José Tolentino Calaça de Mendonça.

Akademik Nenad Cambi na znanstvenom je skupu istaknuo da se Dalmacija ponosi svetim Jeronimom. "On nije Hrvat, nego je Rimljanin i materinji jezik mu je latinski, ali rođen je u Dalmaciji i naš je zemljak. On je čovjek iz ovih krajeva, izrastao iz ovog podneblja te se posvetio širenju kršćanstva", zaključio je Cambi.

Uistinu, sveti je Jere na ponos Dalmacije i cijele Hrvatske – in honorem et gloriam Dalmatiae totiusque Croatiae – jer gdje god je bio njegov rodni Stridon, sigurno je na teritoriju današnje Republike Hrvatske. Međutim, nažalost, osim Crkve i znanstvenika, malo tko od državnih struktura znade istaknuti činjenicu da je Jeronim naš zemljak, na kojoj nam zacijelo zavide mnogo veći narodi.

Cijeli niz manifestacija održava se ovih dana u Splitu u čast svetog Jeronima, zaštitnika Dalmacije, jednog od četiri najveća zapadna crkvena naučitelja, kojem je u cijeloj Katoličkoj crkvi posvećena ova godina, jer se obilježava 1600. obljetnica njegove smrti u Betlehemu, 30. rujna 420. Papa Frane je u Jeronimov spomen Treću nedjelju kroz godinu proglasio Nedjeljom Božje Riječi i ona će se toga dana svake godine slaviti u cijeloj Crkvi.

Razlog za to više je nego opravdan, budući da je sveti Jere za svoga života preveo cijelu Bibliju s hebrejskog i grčkog jezika na tada sveprisutni latinski jezik, popularnu Vulgatu, koja je pomogla standardizaciji narodnih jezika u Europi, pa tako i našeg hrvatskog jezika. U tome je za nas značajnu ulogu imao i otac hrvatske književnosti Marko Marulić, koji je prije pet stotina godina, 1521., objavio prvo djelo na narodnome jeziku pod naslovom "Libar Marka Marula Splićanina", u kojem se uzdrži istorija svete udovice Judit, u versi harvacki složena. Osim toga, Marulića je privlačio i Jeronimov monaški život pa je znao boraviti s pustinjacima koji su obitavali na južnim marjanskim padinama, gdje su i danas njihove ćelije u brdovitim stijenama, te crkva posvećena upravo svetom Jeri.

Dani svetoga Jeronima počeli su dvodnevnim Međunarodnim znanstvenim skupom "Sanctus Hieronymus Dalmatiae vir illustris", odnosno na hrvatskom "Sveti Jeronim znameniti Dalmatinski muž". Potom je u dvorištu Nadbiskupskog ordinarijata predstavljena prigodna izložba uz kip svetog Jeronima, autorski rad akademskog kipara Vene Jerkovića, koji će na inicijativu konventualca fra Tomislava Glavnika uskoro biti podignut u bazilici Marijina usnuća na Sionu u Jeruzalemu.

Dani se nastavljaju medijskom promocijom knjige "Svetom Jeronimu posvećeno" u utorak 29. rujna ujutro, u 9.30, u samostanu sv. Frane na Obali u Splitu, koju je objavio mjesečnik "Veritas".

Istoga dana, u 18 sati, na Medicinskom fakultetu u Splitu bit će priređena svečana akademija u povodu jubileja 1600 godina smrti svetog Jeronima. Na njoj će predavanje održati kardinal José Tolentino Calaça de Mendonça, arhivist i bibliotekar svete Rimske crkve, koji će ekskluzivno objaviti novosti o svetom Jeronimu do kojih je došao istražujući u vatikanskim bibliotekama.

Na sam blagdan svetog Jere, što je ujedno i Dan Splitsko-dalmatinske županije – jer, kako je rekao župan Blaženko Boban, na čiju je inicijativu prije dvije godine 30. rujna proglašen Danom županije, Jeronim je čeznuo za svojim rodnim dalmatinskim krajem – spomenuti Jeronimov kip trebao bi blagosloviti kardinal Tolentin. Šteta je samo što ga nije blagoslovio Papin državni tajnik, kardinal Pietro Parolin, koji je prije nekoliko dana bio u Splitu i Solinu.

Nakon blagoslova kipa u 10 sati bit će upriličeno otvaranje Riznice splitske katedrale, čiji je novi stalni postav smješten preko puta prvostolnice svetog Dujma, u palači Skočibučić-Lukaris. Navečer u 18 sati euharistijsko slavlje na kraju Dana svetog Jeronima, u novoj solinskoj crkvi Svete Obitelji, predvodi kardinal José Tolentino Calaça de Mendonça.

Akademik Nenad Cambi na znanstvenom je skupu istaknuo da se Dalmacija ponosi svetim Jeronimom. "On nije Hrvat, nego je Rimljanin i materinji jezik mu je latinski, ali rođen je u Dalmaciji i naš je zemljak. On je čovjek iz ovih krajeva, izrastao iz ovog podneblja te se posvetio širenju kršćanstva", zaključio je Cambi.

Uistinu, sveti je Jere na ponos Dalmacije i cijele Hrvatske – in honorem et gloriam Dalmatiae totiusque Croatiae – jer gdje god je bio njegov rodni Stridon, sigurno je na teritoriju današnje Republike Hrvatske. Međutim, nažalost, osim Crkve i znanstvenika, malo tko od državnih struktura znade istaknuti činjenicu da je Jeronim naš zemljak, na kojoj nam zacijelo zavide mnogo veći narodi.

Sveti je Jeronim ponos Dalmacije i cijele Hrvatske

Cijeli niz manifestacija održava se ovih dana u Splitu u čast svetog Jeronima, zaštitnika Dalmacije, jednog od četiri najveća zapadna crkvena naučitelja, kojem je u cijeloj Katoličkoj crkvi posvećena ova godina, jer se obilježava 1600. obljetnica njegove smrti u Betlehemu, 30. rujna 420. Papa Frane je u Jeronimov spomen Treću nedjelju kroz godinu proglasio Nedjeljom Božje Riječi i ona će se toga dana svake godine slaviti u cijeloj Crkvi.

Razlog za to više je nego opravdan, budući da je sveti Jere za svoga života preveo cijelu Bibliju s hebrejskog i grčkog jezika na tada sveprisutni latinski jezik, popularnu Vulgatu, koja je pomogla standardizaciji narodnih jezika u Europi, pa tako i našeg hrvatskog jezika. U tome je za nas značajnu ulogu imao i otac hrvatske književnosti Mar...
