Hrvatski predsjednik Stjepan Mesić u četvrtak je završio posjet Izraelu gdje je sudjelovao na međunarodnoj konferenciji u Jeruzalemu organiziranoj u povodu 60. obljetnice osnutka Izraela.

Desetak predsjednika država, visoki sadašnji i bivši dužnosnici iz mnogih zemalja, poznate ličnosti iz svijeta znanosti, gospodarstva, umjetnosti poručili su da na bliskom Istoku što prije treba uspostaviti trajan mir, okončati mirovne pregovore koji će uroditi kompromisnim rješenjem a to znači da se Izraelu jamči sigurnost a Palestincima država.

Dio konferencije bio je posvećen 60. obljetnici američko-izraelskog prijateljstva i tada su američki predsjednik Georg Bush izraelski predsjednik Shimon Peres i premijer Ehud Olmert naglasili da su SAD i Izrael "najveći i najpouzdaniji prijatelji u svijetu".

Izraelski dužnosnici su zahvalili Americi na velikoj moralnoj i političkoj potpori te financijskoj pomoći bez koje, kako su rekli, vjerojatno ne bi ni bilo izraelske države.

Unatoč najavama da bi se mirovni sporazum mogao postići do kraja ove godine, na konferenciji i izvan nje već se govori da to nije realno. Premijer Olmert je izjavio da je postignut značajan napredak u pregovorima no njegov je najnoviji prijedlog da se rješenje statusa Izraela ostavi za kasnije, I premijer i drugi govornici na konferenciji nekoliko puta su istaknuli da je Jeruzalem "vječni glavni grad Izraela".

Uz status Jeruzalema i određivanje granica, za Palestince je otvoreno pitanje povratka nekoliko milijuna izbjeglica. U četvrtak Palestinci na zapadnoj obali i u pojasu Gaze obilježavaju dan osnutka Izraela kao dan katastrofe. Održavaju se masovni prosvjedi, a najveći u Ramallahu.

Prosvjed se organizira i na libanonsko-izraelskoj granici i u njemu sudjeluju izbjeglice u Libanonu, prenose mediji u Jeruzalemu. U nekoliko gradova na zapadnoj obali i u Jeruzalemu Palestinci će kako, najavljuju, pustiti 22 tisuće crnih balona u znak "bola zbog osnutka Izraela".

Slavlje 60. obljetnice izraelske Države zasjenili su raketni napadi na grad Ashkelon u srijedu. Iranski predsjednik Mahmud Ahmaninedžad je poručio da proslave obljetnice "neće spasiti Izrael od uništenja", prenosi u četvrtak Jerusalem Post. Iran je i američko-izraelskim razgovorima na vrhu kao i na međunarodnoj konferenciji označen kao najveća opasnost za mir u regiji i šire.

Međunarodna konferencija završava u petak sa sudionicima pretežito istaknutim predstavnicima židovske zajednice iz cijelog svijeta.

Jeruzalemski tisak već iznosi kritike dometa konferencije ocjenjujući da su rasprave bile akademske i da je pitanje hoće li imati odjeka od onih koji donose političke odluke.

Jerusalem Post piše da i dalje nema strategije razvoja izraelske države i očuvanja židovskog identiteta diljem svijeta u modernim uvjetima.

Hrvatski predsjednik Stjepan Mesić u četvrtak je završio posjet Izraelu gdje je sudjelovao na međunarodnoj konferenciji u Jeruzalemu organiziranoj u povodu 60. obljetnice osnutka Izraela.

Desetak predsjednika država, visoki sadašnji i bivši dužnosnici iz mnogih zemalja, poznate ličnosti iz svijeta znanosti, gospodarstva, umjetnosti poručili su da na bliskom Istoku što prije treba uspostaviti trajan mir, okončati mirovne pregovore koji će uroditi kompromisnim rješenjem a to znači da se Izraelu jamči sigurnost a Palestincima država.

Dio konferencije bio je posvećen 60. obljetnici američko-izraelskog prijateljstva i tada su američki predsjednik Georg Bush izraelski predsjednik Shimon Peres i premijer Ehud Olmert naglasili da su SAD i Izrael "najveći i najpouzdaniji prijatelji u svijetu".

Izraelski dužnosnici su zahvalili Americi na velikoj moralnoj i političkoj potpori te financijskoj pomoći bez koje, kako su rekli, vjerojatno ne bi ni bilo izraelske države.

Unatoč najavama da bi se mirovni sporazum mogao postići do kraja ove godine, na konferenciji i izvan nje već se govori da to nije realno. Premijer Olmert je izjavio da je postignut značajan napredak u pregovorima no njegov je najnoviji prijedlog da se rješenje statusa Izraela ostavi za kasnije, I premijer i drugi govornici na konferenciji nekoliko puta su istaknuli da je Jeruzalem "vječni glavni grad Izraela".

Uz status Jeruzalema i određivanje granica, za Palestince je otvoreno pitanje povratka nekoliko milijuna izbjeglica. U četvrtak Palestinci na zapadnoj obali i u pojasu Gaze obilježavaju dan osnutka Izraela kao dan katastrofe. Održavaju se masovni prosvjedi, a najveći u Ramallahu.

Prosvjed se organizira i na libanonsko-izraelskoj granici i u njemu sudjeluju izbjeglice u Libanonu, prenose mediji u Jeruzalemu. U nekoliko gradova na zapadnoj obali i u Jeruzalemu Palestinci će kako, najavljuju, pustiti 22 tisuće crnih balona u znak "bola zbog osnutka Izraela".

Slavlje 60. obljetnice izraelske Države zasjenili su raketni napadi na grad Ashkelon u srijedu. Iranski predsjednik Mahmud Ahmaninedžad je poručio da proslave obljetnice "neće spasiti Izrael od uništenja", prenosi u četvrtak Jerusalem Post. Iran je i američko-izraelskim razgovorima na vrhu kao i na međunarodnoj konferenciji označen kao najveća opasnost za mir u regiji i šire.

Međunarodna konferencija završava u petak sa sudionicima pretežito istaknutim predstavnicima židovske zajednice iz cijelog svijeta.

Jeruzalemski tisak već iznosi kritike dometa konferencije ocjenjujući da su rasprave bile akademske i da je pitanje hoće li imati odjeka od onih koji donose političke odluke.

Jerusalem Post piše da i dalje nema strategije razvoja izraelske države i očuvanja židovskog identiteta diljem svijeta u modernim uvjetima.
