Predsjednik Republike Zoran Milanović razgovarao je s predstavnicima braniteljskih udruga, Udruge specijalne policije iz Domovinskog rata Republike Hrvatske i Zbora udruge veterana hrvatskih gardijskih postrojbi. U ime Udruge specijalne policije iz Domovinskog rata Republike Hrvatske na sastanku s predsjednikom Milanović sudjelovao je Zoran Maras, a ispred Zbora udruge veterana hrvatskih gardijskih postrojbi bili su Željko Dragašević i Ilija Vučemilović Šimunović, prenosi Jutarnji list.
Glavne teme razgovora bile su rješavanje sudbine nestalih hrvatskih branitelja i civila, tužbe hrvatskih logoraša protiv Republike Srbije, moguća ratna odšteta od strane Republike Srbije zbog agresije na Republiku Hrvatske te obilježavanje obljetnica iz Domovinskog rata. Predstavnici braniteljskih udruga stava su kako se ta pitanja mogu riješiti jedino uz angažman najviših državnih institucija, dakle Predsjednika Republike, Vlade RH i Hrvatskog sabora, te su zbog toga zatražili i pomoć predsjednika Milanovića, stoji u priopćenju Ureda predsjednika.

- Predsjednik Milanović i predstavnici braniteljskih udruga u cijelosti su se pri tome složili kako je najvažnije riješiti sudbinu nestalih hrvatskih branitelja i civila jer je to prije svega pitanje humanosti. Za taj zahtjev dobili su čvrstu potporu Predsjednika Republike koji smatra kako Republika Srbija, prije ulaska u Europsku uniju, mora otkriti gdje se nalaze posmrtni ostaci nestalih branitelja i civila, stoji u priopćenju.
- Pitanje nestalih mora se riješiti prije ulaska Srbije u EU. Znamo da naši susjedi znaju, i moraju znati, puno više o nestalima nego što čine i pokazuju. To pitanje je ljudsko, simbolično i državno, rekao je predsjednik Milanović.

Vezano uz pitanje ratne odštete i tužbi hrvatskih logoraša, predsjednik Milanović izrazio je razumijevanje za takva razmišljanja braniteljskih udruga, ali je u argumentiranoj raspravi tijekom sastanka ukazao na realne pravne prepreke koje postoje.
Predstavnici braniteljskih udruga, nadalje, upoznali su predsjednika Milanovića sa svojom inicijativom da se jasno uredi obilježavanje važnih obljetnica iz Domovinskog rata. Prema njihovom prijedlogu koji je već ranije predstavljen i vladinim institucijama, važne obljetnice trebale bi se obilježavati uz zajedničko sudjelovanje državnog vrha i obitelji žrtava.
Predsjednik Milanović podsjetio je kako je u više navrata i sam predlagao takav način obilježavanja.

- Smatram kako državni vrh mora zajednički sudjelovati na obilježavanjima, rekao je predsjednik Milanović.

Predsjednik Republike Zoran Milanović razgovarao je s predstavnicima braniteljskih udruga, Udruge specijalne policije iz Domovinskog rata Republike Hrvatske i Zbora udruge veterana hrvatskih gardijskih postrojbi. U ime Udruge specijalne policije iz Domovinskog rata Republike Hrvatske na sastanku s predsjednikom Milanović sudjelovao je Zoran Maras, a ispred Zbora udruge veterana hrvatskih gardijskih postrojbi bili su Željko Dragašević i Ilija Vučemilović Šimunović, prenosi Jutarnji list.
Glavne teme razgovora bile su rješavanje sudbine nestalih hrvatskih branitelja i civila, tužbe hrvatskih logoraša protiv Republike Srbije, moguća ratna odšteta od strane Republike Srbije zbog agresije na Republiku Hrvatske te obilježavanje obljetnica iz Domovinskog rata. Predstavnici braniteljskih udruga stava su kako se ta pitanja mogu riješiti jedino uz angažman najviših državnih institucija, dakle Predsjednika Republike, Vlade RH i Hrvatskog sabora, te su zbog toga zatražili i pomoć predsjednika Milanovića, stoji u priopćenju Ureda predsjednika.

- Predsjednik Milanović i predstavnici braniteljskih udruga u cijelosti su se pri tome složili kako je najvažnije riješiti sudbinu nestalih hrvatskih branitelja i civila jer je to prije svega pitanje humanosti. Za taj zahtjev dobili su čvrstu potporu Predsjednika Republike koji smatra kako Republika Srbija, prije ulaska u Europsku uniju, mora otkriti gdje se nalaze posmrtni ostaci nestalih branitelja i civila, stoji u priopćenju.
- Pitanje nestalih mora se riješiti prije ulaska Srbije u EU. Znamo da naši susjedi znaju, i moraju znati, puno više o nestalima nego što čine i pokazuju. To pitanje je ljudsko, simbolično i državno, rekao je predsjednik Milanović.

Vezano uz pitanje ratne odštete i tužbi hrvatskih logoraša, predsjednik Milanović izrazio je razumijevanje za takva razmišljanja braniteljskih udruga, ali je u argumentiranoj raspravi tijekom sastanka ukazao na realne pravne prepreke koje postoje.
Predstavnici braniteljskih udruga, nadalje, upoznali su predsjednika Milanovića sa svojom inicijativom da se jasno uredi obilježavanje važnih obljetnica iz Domovinskog rata. Prema njihovom prijedlogu koji je već ranije predstavljen i vladinim institucijama, važne obljetnice trebale bi se obilježavati uz zajedničko sudjelovanje državnog vrha i obitelji žrtava.
Predsjednik Milanović podsjetio je kako je u više navrata i sam predlagao takav način obilježavanja.

- Smatram kako državni vrh mora zajednički sudjelovati na obilježavanjima, rekao je predsjednik Milanović.
