Stipe Mesić je u tom razgovoru izjavio kako se nije osjećao početkom devedesetih siguran u Beogradu iako su ga čuvali pripadnici ondašnje savezne policije i hrvatski policajci. Niti jednom, kaže Mesić, njegovi pratitelji i osiguranje nisu se kretali istim putem po Beogradu, već su stalno birali nove pravce kretanja kako bi izbjegli da ih eventualni atentatori dočekaju i likvidiraju.

O atentatu kod Županje, koji se navodno dogodio 1990. ili početkom 1991., Mesić kaže:

- Na sjednicu Predsjedništava bivše Jugoslavije iz Zagreba je zrakoplovom došao Josip Manolić umjesto Franje Tuđmana. Planirao sam poslije sjednice ići službenim automobilom do Županje, a potom u Zagreb. Manolić me uvjerio da krenem s njim u Zagreb zrakoplovom, kako bih mu pravio društvo i da se ispričamo za vrijeme leta. Pristao sam na tu njegovu ponudu.

Moj službeni automobil krenuo je bez mene i izrešetan je u neposrednoj blizini Županje. Znači da su me čekali! Automobil je bio blindiran, ali su se jasno vidjeli tragovi sedam, osam metaka velikog kalibra. Netko je sve to isplanirao, ali nije znao da ja neću biti u automobilu - kaže Stipe Mesić u razgovoru s Jeremićem.

Na upit Jeremića zašto je o ovome do sada šutio, kazao je kako ne zna, ali zna da se u ono vrijeme mnogima zamjerio te da cijeli ovaj slučaj nikada nije istražen te da se nikada nije saznalo tko je pucao.

razgovoru s autorom knjige “Sačekuša” Predragom Pecom Jeremićem.

Stipe Mesić je u tom razgovoru izjavio kako se nije osjećao početkom devedesetih siguran u Beogradu iako su ga čuvali pripadnici ondašnje savezne policije i hrvatski policajci. Niti jednom, kaže Mesić, njegovi pratitelji i osiguranje nisu se kretali istim putem po Beogradu, već su stalno birali nove pravce kretanja kako bi izbjegli da ih eventualni atentatori dočekaju i likvidiraju.

O atentatu kod Županje, koji se navodno dogodio 1990. ili početkom 1991., Mesić kaže:

- Na sjednicu Predsjedništava bivše Jugoslavije iz Zagreba je zrakoplovom došao Josip Manolić umjesto Franje Tuđmana. Planirao sam poslije sjednice ići službenim automobilom do Županje, a potom u Zagreb. Manolić me uvjerio da krenem s njim u Zagreb zrakoplovom, kako bih mu pravio društvo i da se ispričamo za vrijeme leta. Pristao sam na tu njegovu ponudu.

Moj službeni automobil krenuo je bez mene i izrešetan je u neposrednoj blizini Županje. Znači da su me čekali! Automobil je bio blindiran, ali su se jasno vidjeli tragovi sedam, osam metaka velikog kalibra. Netko je sve to isplanirao, ali nije znao da ja neću biti u automobilu - kaže Stipe Mesić u razgovoru s Jeremićem.

Na upit Jeremića zašto je o ovome do sada šutio, kazao je kako ne zna, ali zna da se u ono vrijeme mnogima zamjerio te da cijeli ovaj slučaj nikada nije istražen te da se nikada nije saznalo tko je pucao.

Mesić: Izrešetali su mi auto kod Županje

Htjeli su me likvidirati i izrešetali su moj službeni automobil u blizini Županje u kojemu, na sreću, tada nisam bio - izjavio je bivši hrvatski predsjednik Stipe Mesić, posljednji predsjednik bivše Jugoslavije, u razgovoru s autorom knjige “Sačekuša” Predragom Pecom Jeremićem.
