Iz Instituta za jezik i jezikoslovlje okončali su dilemu kako pisati oznaku nove valute i pojasnili je li pravilno reći "pet centi" ili "pet centa", a s obzirom na oprečna tumačenja jezikoslovaca, kao i brojne upite koje je posljednjih mjeseci Institut primio od javnih institucija, među kojima - kad je riječ o kratici za euro - i Ministarstva znanosti i obrazovanja.

U cilju da ujednače nova izdanja školskih udžbenika, upit su postavili i pojedini nakladnici jer im je jedan dio stručnjaka tumačio da je ispravno reći pet (i više) centi, a drugi centa. Uz opis eurokovanice na službenim stranicama euro.hr stoji, pak, pet centa.

Prema mišljenju profesora s Odsjeka za kroatistiku Filozofskog fakulteta u Zagrebu Marka Alerića, bilo bi dobro rješenje razlikovati tzv. dvojinu od množine, odnosno pisati i izgovarati jedan cent; dva, tri, četiri centa, ali pet i više centi. I kod 11 do 20 su centi, a centi su i desetice, stotice i tisućice. Ako je pak zadnji broj jedinica, onda je centa, objašnjava Alerić, spominjući kako je imenicu muškog roda euro malo nezgodno izgovoriti jer sadrži puno samoglasnika, što dovodi do glasovne primjene koja se zove zijev - prevelik otvor usta.

- No, tako glasi naziv valute i nema zapreke da se izgovara euro. U jednini kažemo jedan euro, a u množini eura. Treba, naravno, paziti kod, primjerice, brojke 121, kada je opet - euro, kaže Alerić.

Centi su, priznaje, malo veći problem. Imenica je isto muškog roda, a završava neobično, nastavkom ‘nt‘. Naime, pojašnjava Alerić, u hrvatskom jeziku nema ni jedne hrvatske riječi koja završava tom suglasničkom skupinom, no imamo tuđice. Normalno je da se takva riječ mora na neki način uklopiti u sustav hrvatskoga jezika. Analogije su riječi poput student, docent ili parlament.

U dvojini one glase, primjerice, dva docenta ili u množini pet docenata. Oblik koji bi mogao biti u genitivu množine je i cenata, ali kod većeg broja suglasničkih skupina u množini se dodaje i nastavak ‘i‘. Primjerice, postrojbi, majki, lopti, kaže Marko Alerić. I od tuda, smatra, i pet centi, piše Jutarnji list. 

Da treba pisati "5 centi" slaže se i akademik Josip Bratulić.

- U tradiciji hrvatskog jezika, koja i nije nešto duga, jest pet centi, deset centi. Ako uvažimo i pet centi i pet centa time ćemo zbunjivati ljude. Pet centi je ispravno - kaže.

Iz Instituta za hrvatski jezik i jezikoslovlje potvrđuju nam da preporučuju jednu varijantu (centa), ali dopuštaju i drugu (centi), a kad je riječ o kraticama za euro, nude tri načina pisanja.

Oznaka za euro

- Službena oznaka za euro je EUR, kao što je za kunu oznaka HRK. Kao i ostale oznake novčanih jedinica, oznaka EUR se ne sklanja, odnosno nema padežne nastavke: 5 EUR, 50 EUR. Osim toga, za euro se upotrebljava i simbol €. Kad se na nekom proizvodu ističe cijena, ona se, dakle, može istaknuti na tri načina: 5 EUR, 5 eura i 5 € - objašnjava ravnatelj Instituta Željko Jozić.

Kad je riječ o genitivu množine imenice "cent", uz brojeve od pet naviše, Institut preporučuje uporabu oblika "centa", dakle, 5, 6, 7 centa. No, zbog potvrđenosti u uporabi nije pogrešno služiti se i oblikom "centi": 5, 6, 7 centi. Dakle, preporuka je Instituta uporaba oblika "5 centa", a dopušteno je u hrvatskome jeziku govoriti i pisati i "5 centi".

"Bijeg" prof. Markovića

Od ideje da o deklinaciji centa ponudi svoje stručno mišljenje pobjegao je kroatist sa zagrebačkog Filozofskog fakulteta Ivan Marković. Doslovno nas je pitao: - Jeste li ikada vidjeli da sam dao izjavu za televiziju ili novine? Treba napomenuti da je Marković predstojnik Katedre za hrvatski standardni jezik, a od 2022. član suradnik HAZU za filološke znanosti.

Iz Instituta za jezik i jezikoslovlje okončali su dilemu kako pisati oznaku nove valute i pojasnili je li pravilno reći "pet centi" ili "pet centa", a s obzirom na oprečna tumačenja jezikoslovaca, kao i brojne upite koje je posljednjih mjeseci Institut primio od javnih institucija, među kojima - kad je riječ o kratici za euro - i Ministarstva znanosti i obrazovanja.

U cilju da ujednače nova izdanja školskih udžbenika, upit su postavili i pojedini nakladnici jer im je jedan dio stručnjaka tumačio da je ispravno reći pet (i više) centi, a drugi centa. Uz opis eurokovanice na službenim stranicama euro.hr stoji, pak, pet centa.

Prema mišljenju profesora s Odsjeka za kroatistiku Filozofskog fakulteta u Zagrebu Marka Alerića, bilo bi dobro rješenje razlikovati tzv. dvojinu od množine, odnosno pisati i izgovarati jedan cent; dva, tri, četiri centa, ali pet i više centi. I kod 11 do 20 su centi, a centi su i desetice, stotice i tisućice. Ako je pak zadnji broj jedinica, onda je centa, objašnjava Alerić, spominjući kako je imenicu muškog roda euro malo nezgodno izgovoriti jer sadrži puno samoglasnika, što dovodi do glasovne primjene koja se zove zijev - prevelik otvor usta.

- No, tako glasi naziv valute i nema zapreke da se izgovara euro. U jednini kažemo jedan euro, a u množini eura. Treba, naravno, paziti kod, primjerice, brojke 121, kada je opet - euro, kaže Alerić.

Centi su, priznaje, malo veći problem. Imenica je isto muškog roda, a završava neobično, nastavkom ‘nt‘. Naime, pojašnjava Alerić, u hrvatskom jeziku nema ni jedne hrvatske riječi koja završava tom suglasničkom skupinom, no imamo tuđice. Normalno je da se takva riječ mora na neki način uklopiti u sustav hrvatskoga jezika. Analogije su riječi poput student, docent ili parlament.

U dvojini one glase, primjerice, dva docenta ili u množini pet docenata. Oblik koji bi mogao biti u genitivu množine je i cenata, ali kod većeg broja suglasničkih skupina u množini se dodaje i nastavak ‘i‘. Primjerice, postrojbi, majki, lopti, kaže Marko Alerić. I od tuda, smatra, i pet centi, piše Jutarnji list. 

Da treba pisati "5 centi" slaže se i akademik Josip Bratulić.

- U tradiciji hrvatskog jezika, koja i nije nešto duga, jest pet centi, deset centi. Ako uvažimo i pet centi i pet centa time ćemo zbunjivati ljude. Pet centi je ispravno - kaže.

Iz Instituta za hrvatski jezik i jezikoslovlje potvrđuju nam da preporučuju jednu varijantu (centa), ali dopuštaju i drugu (centi), a kad je riječ o kraticama za euro, nude tri načina pisanja.

Oznaka za euro

- Službena oznaka za euro je EUR, kao što je za kunu oznaka HRK. Kao i ostale oznake novčanih jedinica, oznaka EUR se ne sklanja, odnosno nema padežne nastavke: 5 EUR, 50 EUR. Osim toga, za euro se upotrebljava i simbol €. Kad se na nekom proizvodu ističe cijena, ona se, dakle, može istaknuti na tri načina: 5 EUR, 5 eura i 5 € - objašnjava ravnatelj Instituta Željko Jozić.

Kad je riječ o genitivu množine imenice "cent", uz brojeve od pet naviše, Institut preporučuje uporabu oblika "centa", dakle, 5, 6, 7 centa. No, zbog potvrđenosti u uporabi nije pogrešno služiti se i oblikom "centi": 5, 6, 7 centi. Dakle, preporuka je Instituta uporaba oblika "5 centa", a dopušteno je u hrvatskome jeziku govoriti i pisati i "5 centi".

"Bijeg" prof. Markovića

Od ideje da o deklinaciji centa ponudi svoje stručno mišljenje pobjegao je kroatist sa zagrebačkog Filozofskog fakulteta Ivan Marković. Doslovno nas je pitao: - Jeste li ikada vidjeli da sam dao izjavu za televiziju ili novine? Treba napomenuti da je Marković predstojnik Katedre za hrvatski standardni jezik, a od 2022. član suradnik HAZU za filološke znanosti.

Kaže li se pet centi ili pet centa? Iz Instituta za jezik i jezikoslovlje napokon su okončali dilemu

Iz Instituta za jezik i jezikoslovlje okončali su dilemu kako pisati oznaku nove valute i pojasnili je li pravilno reći "pet centi" ili "pet centa", a s obzirom na oprečna tumačenja jezikoslovaca, kao i brojne upite koje je posljednjih mjeseci Institut primio od javnih institucija, među kojima - kad je riječ o kratici za euro - i Ministarstva znanosti i obrazovanja.

U cilju da ujednače nova izdanja školskih udžbenika, upit su postavili i pojedini nakladnici jer im je jedan dio stručnjaka tumačio da je ispravno reći pet (i više) centi, a drugi centa. Uz opis eurokovanice na službenim stranicama euro.hr stoji, pak, pet centa.
