Euro je u posljednja tri mjeseca oslabio prema dolaru gotovo za 15 posto. No, iza toga izgleda ne stoji samo kriza prezaduženosti Grčke. Američko Ministarstvo pravde istražuje, kako tvrdi Wall Street Journal, je li ovako duboki pad zajedničke europske valute rezultat nedozvoljeneg kartelskog dogovora nekoliko hedge fondova, među kojima je i fond poznatog američkog financijskog magnata mađarskog porijekla Georgea Sorosa (Soros Fund Management), u korist jačanja dolara.
Sumnju je naročito izazvala večera 8. veljače na kojoj su bili šefovi i vlasnici nekoliko velikih hedge fondova, među kojima i Soros, a na kojoj se najviše razgovaralo o euru i problemima europskih ekonomija.
Tom prilikom Soros je, za koga se pretpostavlja da je glavni inspirator zajedničke akcije, kako je procurilo u javnost, izrazio očkivanje da će američke kamatne stope početi rasti, čime bi dolar postao privlačniji...
Slučaj britanske funte
Ministarstvo pravde je pozvalo fondove SAC Capital Investors, Greenlight Capital, Soros Fund Management i Paulson & Co da sačuvaju dokumente o transakcijama i međusobnoj komunikaciji u veljači na deviznim tržištima.
Sumnja se, naime, da su fondovi postupali na isti način i prodavali euro, čime se obarao njegov tečaj...
Soros je najviše sumnjiv i zato što mu ovo nije prvi napad na neku od svjetskih valuta. Postao je poznat, a može se reći i superbogat, kada je u rujnu 1992. godine „napao“ britansku valutu, prodavajući je masivno za dolare i marke.
Funta je za kratko vrijeme pala s tečaja od 2,01 dolara na 1,69 dolara, Bank of England s našla na koljenima, a Sorosu je u džepu ostala cijela milijarda dolara...
Istini za volju, ima i mišljenja da se radi o medijalnoj igri, zapravo demonizaciji hedge fondova, kako bi političari sebi stvorili veći prostor za njihovu regulaciju.

Euro je u posljednja tri mjeseca oslabio prema dolaru gotovo za 15 posto. No, iza toga izgleda ne stoji samo kriza prezaduženosti Grčke. Američko Ministarstvo pravde istražuje, kako tvrdi Wall Street Journal, je li ovako duboki pad zajedničke europske valute rezultat nedozvoljeneg kartelskog dogovora nekoliko hedge fondova, među kojima je i fond poznatog američkog financijskog magnata mađarskog porijekla Georgea Sorosa (Soros Fund Management), u korist jačanja dolara.
Sumnju je naročito izazvala večera 8. veljače na kojoj su bili šefovi i vlasnici nekoliko velikih hedge fondova, među kojima i Soros, a na kojoj se najviše razgovaralo o euru i problemima europskih ekonomija.
Tom prilikom Soros je, za koga se pretpostavlja da je glavni inspirator zajedničke akcije, kako je procurilo u javnost, izrazio očkivanje da će američke kamatne stope početi rasti, čime bi dolar postao privlačniji...
Slučaj britanske funte
Ministarstvo pravde je pozvalo fondove SAC Capital Investors, Greenlight Capital, Soros Fund Management i Paulson & Co da sačuvaju dokumente o transakcijama i međusobnoj komunikaciji u veljači na deviznim tržištima.
Sumnja se, naime, da su fondovi postupali na isti način i prodavali euro, čime se obarao njegov tečaj...
Soros je najviše sumnjiv i zato što mu ovo nije prvi napad na neku od svjetskih valuta. Postao je poznat, a može se reći i superbogat, kada je u rujnu 1992. godine „napao“ britansku valutu, prodavajući je masivno za dolare i marke.
Funta je za kratko vrijeme pala s tečaja od 2,01 dolara na 1,69 dolara, Bank of England s našla na koljenima, a Sorosu je u džepu ostala cijela milijarda dolara...
Istini za volju, ima i mišljenja da se radi o medijalnoj igri, zapravo demonizaciji hedge fondova, kako bi političari sebi stvorili veći prostor za njihovu regulaciju.
