Drago mi je što smo prvi u skupini, što smo preskočili osminu finala. Utakmica u kojoj je energetska potrošnja bila velika s jedne i druge strane, nakon prve četvrtine krenulo je ‘čupanje’, plus čudne sudačke odluke, ali opet, ako govorimo o našoj reprezentaciji, dobro stojimo.

Volio bih, naravno, da popravimo igrača više, da realizacija bude bolja, te će se tad, vjerujem, sve ostalo posložiti. Imamo dubinu napada, imamo sjajnog Bijača na vratima. Obrana je pokretna, ona funkcionira, plovni smo, pokretni, imamo sve. Imamo glavu i rep – istaknuo je Maro Joković, 16 godina u seniorskoj reprezentaciji. Ratko Rudić ga je ‘gurnuo’ u vatru u Beogradu, tamo gdje nismo imali ni rezultat, ni igru, ali već godinu poslije ‘mali’ je stajao na najvišoj stepenici pobjedničkog postolja Svjetskog prvenstva u Melbourneu. Morao je propustiti samo ljeto 2009. godine, ali sve do prošle godine bio je udarna snaga Hrvatske.

Bili smo spori u napadu protiv Grka, koji su igrali ‘mrtvu’ zonu. Lopta je trebala ići brže…

- Da, ali, naglašavam, velika je bila energetska potrošnja. Onda je krenulo čupanje, donosile su se loše sudačke odluke kad je bilo tako. Zbog ovakve utakmice, zbog toga što su se igrači potrošili, moramo biti dodatno sretni što su naši uspjeli izbjeći osminu finala, izboriti izravan plasman u četvrtfinale, te su tako dobili tri slobodna dana – istaknuo je najtrofejniji hrvatski vaterpolist svih vremena kad se zbroje klupski trofeji i reprezentativne medalje.

Ako će se zbog nečega posebno pamtiti ogled s Grcima, to je činjenica što nismo postigli pogodak u prvom poluvremenu, što smo prvi put mrežu suparnika zatresli nakon 17 minuta i 32 sekunde igre! Je li se to ikad dogodilo?

- Koliko se sjećam, barem dok sam ja igrao, a igrao sam za reprezentaciju od Europskog prvenstva u Beogradu 2006. godine, nikad se nije dogodilo da nismo postigli pogodak u prve dvije četvrtine. Ne sjećam se da se to dogodilo i prije nego sam zaigrao za seniorsku reprezentaciju, od kad sam počeo pratiti njene nastupe… Ali, i protiv Francuske nam je trebala četvrtina i pol, dvije da se trgnemo, pa smo ostvarili uvjerljivu pobjedu. Sad smo unatoč toj činjenici da nismo postigli pogodak, uspjeli izbjeći poraz, te ostvariti cilj. Za nešto više, treba nešto više.

Utakmica Hrvatska – Grčka je parala gaće, ulog je bio velik. Nije na stolu bio samo izravan plasman u četvrtfinale, ni tri slobodna dana, tj. četiri dana do iduće utakmice, već činjenica kako onaj tko ne dohvati prvo mjesto ide u četvrtfinalu na Španjolsku, aktualnog svjetskog prvaka i prvog favorita za zlato u Splitu. Naravno, imao bi prije toga osminu finala, ali Izrael nije taj koji bi mogao napraviti štetu reprezentaciji iz gornjeg doma. Zatim, pobjednik skupine u četvrtfinalu čeka pobjednika najslabijeg para osmine finala, Gruziju ili Nizozemsku.

- Sve to stoji, ali nećemo zaboraviti kako su Nizozemci baš dobro odigrali protiv Španjolaca… Ali, stoji, otvoren je put do polufinala.

Dohvatiti polufinale, igrati za medalju, to je glavni cilj hrvatske reprezentacije od stoljeća sedmog, zar ne?

- Nije glavni, to je prvi cilj. Proći četvrtfinale. Kad se to uspije, tad dolazi drugi cilj, osvojiti medalju, naravno, po mogućnosti najsjajniju. I kad sve gledam, kad se sad zna i put, medalja je baš blizu.

Pratio je i ostale, pogotovo one iz prvog razreda.

- Srbija me iznenadila, ali neugodno. Naravno, to se odnosi na njihovu utakmicu protiv Mađarske, koju su izgubili s čak devet razlike. Stoji, smjena generacije, odlazak gotovo svih koji su bili u glavni ulogama. Mađarska je nepredvidljiva, uplivavala je sa svih pozicija, ubojiti u napadu, na vratima sa sjajnim Vogelom koji je sve branio čudo iza blokova. Španjolci se poznaju u dušu, to smo vidjeli i u Budimpešti. Sad, padaju u drugom tjednu, ali stoji kako su prije tri mjeseca na Svjetskom prvenstvu otišli do kraja. Italija po meni najneugodniji suparnik, pogotovo zbog njihovog stila igre, čupanja, s tom agresivnošću, koju imaju, deranjem, plivanjem… jako, jako neugodni.

Osvrnuo se i na prepunu Spaladium Arenu, 9000 gledatelja protiv Grčke.

- Baš lijepo. Ha, tek sad vidim kako to izgleda s ove strane, kako je navijačima kad gledaju utakmicu, te kako je to kad je vuci potegni, kad se mora… - razvukao je osmijeh trofejni Župljanin, najiskusniji igrač Jug Adriatic osiguranja.

Drago mi je što smo prvi u skupini, što smo preskočili osminu finala. Utakmica u kojoj je energetska potrošnja bila velika s jedne i druge strane, nakon prve četvrtine krenulo je ‘čupanje’, plus čudne sudačke odluke, ali opet, ako govorimo o našoj reprezentaciji, dobro stojimo.

Volio bih, naravno, da popravimo igrača više, da realizacija bude bolja, te će se tad, vjerujem, sve ostalo posložiti. Imamo dubinu napada, imamo sjajnog Bijača na vratima. Obrana je pokretna, ona funkcionira, plovni smo, pokretni, imamo sve. Imamo glavu i rep – istaknuo je Maro Joković, 16 godina u seniorskoj reprezentaciji. Ratko Rudić ga je ‘gurnuo’ u vatru u Beogradu, tamo gdje nismo imali ni rezultat, ni igru, ali već godinu poslije ‘mali’ je stajao na najvišoj stepenici pobjedničkog postolja Svjetskog prvenstva u Melbourneu. Morao je propustiti samo ljeto 2009. godine, ali sve do prošle godine bio je udarna snaga Hrvatske.

Bili smo spori u napadu protiv Grka, koji su igrali ‘mrtvu’ zonu. Lopta je trebala ići brže…

- Da, ali, naglašavam, velika je bila energetska potrošnja. Onda je krenulo čupanje, donosile su se loše sudačke odluke kad je bilo tako. Zbog ovakve utakmice, zbog toga što su se igrači potrošili, moramo biti dodatno sretni što su naši uspjeli izbjeći osminu finala, izboriti izravan plasman u četvrtfinale, te su tako dobili tri slobodna dana – istaknuo je najtrofejniji hrvatski vaterpolist svih vremena kad se zbroje klupski trofeji i reprezentativne medalje.

Ako će se zbog nečega posebno pamtiti ogled s Grcima, to je činjenica što nismo postigli pogodak u prvom poluvremenu, što smo prvi put mrežu suparnika zatresli nakon 17 minuta i 32 sekunde igre! Je li se to ikad dogodilo?

- Koliko se sjećam, barem dok sam ja igrao, a igrao sam za reprezentaciju od Europskog prvenstva u Beogradu 2006. godine, nikad se nije dogodilo da nismo postigli pogodak u prve dvije četvrtine. Ne sjećam se da se to dogodilo i prije nego sam zaigrao za seniorsku reprezentaciju, od kad sam počeo pratiti njene nastupe… Ali, i protiv Francuske nam je trebala četvrtina i pol, dvije da se trgnemo, pa smo ostvarili uvjerljivu pobjedu. Sad smo unatoč toj činjenici da nismo postigli pogodak, uspjeli izbjeći poraz, te ostvariti cilj. Za nešto više, treba nešto više.

Utakmica Hrvatska – Grčka je parala gaće, ulog je bio velik. Nije na stolu bio samo izravan plasman u četvrtfinale, ni tri slobodna dana, tj. četiri dana do iduće utakmice, već činjenica kako onaj tko ne dohvati prvo mjesto ide u četvrtfinalu na Španjolsku, aktualnog svjetskog prvaka i prvog favorita za zlato u Splitu. Naravno, imao bi prije toga osminu finala, ali Izrael nije taj koji bi mogao napraviti štetu reprezentaciji iz gornjeg doma. Zatim, pobjednik skupine u četvrtfinalu čeka pobjednika najslabijeg para osmine finala, Gruziju ili Nizozemsku.

- Sve to stoji, ali nećemo zaboraviti kako su Nizozemci baš dobro odigrali protiv Španjolaca… Ali, stoji, otvoren je put do polufinala.

Dohvatiti polufinale, igrati za medalju, to je glavni cilj hrvatske reprezentacije od stoljeća sedmog, zar ne?

- Nije glavni, to je prvi cilj. Proći četvrtfinale. Kad se to uspije, tad dolazi drugi cilj, osvojiti medalju, naravno, po mogućnosti najsjajniju. I kad sve gledam, kad se sad zna i put, medalja je baš blizu.

Pratio je i ostale, pogotovo one iz prvog razreda.

- Srbija me iznenadila, ali neugodno. Naravno, to se odnosi na njihovu utakmicu protiv Mađarske, koju su izgubili s čak devet razlike. Stoji, smjena generacije, odlazak gotovo svih koji su bili u glavni ulogama. Mađarska je nepredvidljiva, uplivavala je sa svih pozicija, ubojiti u napadu, na vratima sa sjajnim Vogelom koji je sve branio čudo iza blokova. Španjolci se poznaju u dušu, to smo vidjeli i u Budimpešti. Sad, padaju u drugom tjednu, ali stoji kako su prije tri mjeseca na Svjetskom prvenstvu otišli do kraja. Italija po meni najneugodniji suparnik, pogotovo zbog njihovog stila igre, čupanja, s tom agresivnošću, koju imaju, deranjem, plivanjem… jako, jako neugodni.

Osvrnuo se i na prepunu Spaladium Arenu, 9000 gledatelja protiv Grčke.

- Baš lijepo. Ha, tek sad vidim kako to izgleda s ove strane, kako je navijačima kad gledaju utakmicu, te kako je to kad je vuci potegni, kad se mora… - razvukao je osmijeh trofejni Župljanin, najiskusniji igrač Jug Adriatic osiguranja.

Drago mi je što smo prvi u skupini, što smo preskočili osminu finala. Utakmica u kojoj je energetska potrošnja bila velika s jedne i druge strane, nakon prve četvrtine krenulo je ‘čupanje’, plus čudne sudačke odluke, ali opet, ako govorimo o našoj reprezentaciji, dobro stojimo.

Volio bih, naravno, da popravimo igrača više, da realizacija bude bolja, te će se tad, vjerujem, sve ostalo posložiti. Imamo dubinu napada, imamo sjajnog Bijača na vratima.
