Snažno je svojedobno  teniskim krugovima u Hrvatskoj i  Zadru odjeknula vijest kako je njihova sugrađanka, Bernarda Pera u 1. kolu Australian Opena zaustavila njemačku igračicu Angelique Kerber, pobjednicu Grand Slam turnira u Melbourneu iz 2016., ali i Wimbledona (2018.) i US Opena (2016.) te tenisačicu koja je 34 tjedna provela na svjetskom broju jedan.

Onda je u nedjelju stigla sjajna sportska i teniska vijest o tome kako je Zadranka osvojila svoj prvi WTA naslov! Pera je na Grand prix turniru u Budimpešti u finalu svladala Aleksandru Krunić iz Srbije, te u dva sata došla do velikog rezultata.

Nije bilo neke osobite fešte, nije se moglo vidjeti spektakularne vatromete i slične proslave, međutim, njezin otac Valter Pera, obećao je  domjenak u klubu, ali tek kad se s jednog od otoka zadarskog arhipelaga vrati u Zadar.

- Nismo stigli previše slaviti, ali emocije su preplavile sve nas koji smo oko Bernarde na ovaj ili onaj način, jer mi najbolje znamo koliko to njoj znači. Bilo je nemalo odricanja u karijeri, nerijetko i borbi s „vjetrenjačama”, ali eto izdržala je i potvrdila svoju kvalitetu koja nikad nije bila ni upitana, samo se čekao trenutak u kojem će okruniti svoju darovitost i mukotrpan rad – kazao je Valter koji se čuo s kćerkom koja je nakon Budimpešte odmah otputovala u Hamburg, ali ne zna kad će moći skoknuti do Zadra...

- Nisam siguran hoće li kroz ljeto uopće moći doći do Zadra, postoji neka opcija da se vidimo u Zagrebu, ali to još nije sigurno jer ispred sebe ima zahtjevan program, najprije Montreal, onda Cincinnati, potom slijedi US Open. Sve je to naporno pod ovim vremenskim uvjetima. Međutim, vjerujem u Bernardu, jer je pravi borac, a trijumf u Budimpešti, nedvojbeno, donijet će joj veliku razinu samopouzdanja. Jer ne tako davno bilo je nemalih problema zbog kojih je na WTA ljestvici bila pala skoro pedeset mjesta i evo uspjela se vratiti na staru poziciju – istaknuo je Pera i pojasnio  koliko je neizvjesnih dana imala njegova kćerka...

- Bernarda je imala jednu nezgodnu rupturu kvadricepsa, dogodilo se to nakon Australije, jer je također imala zahtjevne mečeve, uz to je praktički s plus 40 stupnjeva Celzijusa, morala u Sankt Petersburg na minus 20. A to su strašne oscilacije za prilagodbu tijela, još ju je  ubrzo potom  dotaknuo i koronavirus, tako da je puna tri mjeseca bila izvan tenisa. Trebalo se vratiti nakon svega, sportaši znaju koliko je to teško razdoblje, moraš uhvatiti ritam treninga potom se vratiti u pobjednički niz. Eto uspjela je i stigla je nagrada za sve teško, opet je na svome – radosnim glasom će Pera.

Iza Bernarde je  podsjetimo, jedna iznimno teška odluka, odnosno, donijela je odluku kako će nastupati pod zastavom SAD-a, pa se podignula „velika prašina”, čak i osude. O tome je  njezin otac otvoreno govorio i isticao kako opcija povratka pod hrvatskih stijeg nikad nije upitan.

- Bila je to  jedna od težih odluka za sve nas, prije svega Bernardu koja je imala veliku želju biti dio reprezentativnog hrvatskog teniskog svijeta. Ali, mi kao obitelj nismo više mogli pratiti njezin put. Amerikanci nisu previše dvojili, prihvatili su je kao svoju, uostalom ima i njihovo državljanstvo, omogućili su joj izvrsne uvjete i nije se moglo odbiti, posebice iz razloga što smo došli „pred zid” – otvoreno će Pera koji je opet iznio, kako kaže, golu istinu o pokušajima da Bernarda bude projekt hrvatskog tenisa, ali i Grada Zadra.

- Ma tražio sam od svih, pokucao na vrata Hrvatskog teniskog saveza i Grada Zadra, međutim, nisam naišao na razumijevanje, očito nisu imali sluha za Bernardinu kvalitetu. A nisam od onih koji imaju veze i vezice, te ih povlaču kad im je potrebno. Mislio sam kako će činjenica da sam dragovoljac Domovinskog rata, branitelj od prvog dana, moći približiti situaciju i tako Hrvatskoj dati još jednu ambasadoricu sporta. Nije išlo i može ih biti sram svih odreda – mirno će Pera koji se nikako ne može načuditi jednome...

- Svjedoci smo kako hrvatski tenisači, odnosno, svi sportaši daju vrhunske rezultate u uvjetima koji se mogu nazvati očajnima, ali nemaju valjanu potporu. Neću ići daleko, zadržat ću se u Zadru i kazati: „Imate u gradu teniski dragulj i to ne znate cijeniti”! Ne mogu takav odnos nazvati nikako drukčije nego sramotnim – ozbiljan je Pera te naveo jedan primjer iz Amerike...

- Jedna njihova tenisačica se našla u sličnoj situaciji, grad u kojem je živjela organizirao je dobrotvornu aukciju na kojoj su se našla poznata imena američkog tenisa. Između ostalih, bili su tu braća blizanci Michael Carl i Bob Bryan, najbolji svjetski igrači u paru, koji su izložili svoju opremu, od sportske odjeće do teniskih rekvizita. Michale je svoj reket prodao za 16 tisuća dolara, dok je moj prijatelj kupio gornji dio njegove trenirke za iznos od 7 tisuća dolara. I to je taj odnos kojeg se kod nas teško može doživjeti – kazao je Pera i nastavio hrvatsku priču....

- Prije nekoliko dana u Zadru je trenirala Venus Williams, ali nisam mogao primijetiti da je bilo tko jednom riječju spomenuo kako je Bernarda iz Zadra i tu činjenicu također iskoristio u promotivne svrhe. Nadalje, mnogi su se, slikovito rečeno „tukli” tko će igrati protiv Venus i siguran sam sto posto kao  za to nisu tražili nikakav novčani  dodatak. A kad je Bernarda u Zadru onda su mnogi spremni biti sparing – partneri, međutim, jedino u slučaju da im Bernarda plati. Eto, kakvi su to ljudi – zaključio je Pera.

Snažno je svojedobno  teniskim krugovima u Hrvatskoj i  Zadru odjeknula vijest kako je njihova sugrađanka, Bernarda Pera u 1. kolu Australian Opena zaustavila njemačku igračicu Angelique Kerber, pobjednicu Grand Slam turnira u Melbourneu iz 2016., ali i Wimbledona (2018.) i US Opena (2016.) te tenisačicu koja je 34 tjedna provela na svjetskom broju jedan.

Onda je u nedjelju stigla sjajna sportska i teniska vijest o tome kako je Zadranka osvojila svoj prvi WTA naslov! Pera je na Grand prix turniru u Budimpešti u finalu svladala Aleksandru Krunić iz Srbije, te u dva sata došla do velikog rezultata.

Nije bilo neke osobite fešte, nije se moglo vidjeti spektakularne vatromete i slične proslave, međutim, njezin otac Valter Pera, obećao je  domjenak u klubu, ali tek kad se s jednog od otoka zadarskog arhipelaga vrati u Zadar.

- Nismo stigli previše slaviti, ali emocije su preplavile sve nas koji smo oko Bernarde na ovaj ili onaj način, jer mi najbolje znamo koliko to njoj znači. Bilo je nemalo odricanja u karijeri, nerijetko i borbi s „vjetrenjačama”, ali eto izdržala je i potvrdila svoju kvalitetu koja nikad nije bila ni upitana, samo se čekao trenutak u kojem će okruniti svoju darovitost i mukotrpan rad – kazao je Valter koji se čuo s kćerkom koja je nakon Budimpešte odmah otputovala u Hamburg, ali ne zna kad će moći skoknuti do Zadra...

- Nisam siguran hoće li kroz ljeto uopće moći doći do Zadra, postoji neka opcija da se vidimo u Zagrebu, ali to još nije sigurno jer ispred sebe ima zahtjevan program, najprije Montreal, onda Cincinnati, potom slijedi US Open. Sve je to naporno pod ovim vremenskim uvjetima. Međutim, vjerujem u Bernardu, jer je pravi borac, a trijumf u Budimpešti, nedvojbeno, donijet će joj veliku razinu samopouzdanja. Jer ne tako davno bilo je nemalih problema zbog kojih je na WTA ljestvici bila pala skoro pedeset mjesta i evo uspjela se vratiti na staru poziciju – istaknuo je Pera i pojasnio  koliko je neizvjesnih dana imala njegova kćerka...

- Bernarda je imala jednu nezgodnu rupturu kvadricepsa, dogodilo se to nakon Australije, jer je također imala zahtjevne mečeve, uz to je praktički s plus 40 stupnjeva Celzijusa, morala u Sankt Petersburg na minus 20. A to su strašne oscilacije za prilagodbu tijela, još ju je  ubrzo potom  dotaknuo i koronavirus, tako da je puna tri mjeseca bila izvan tenisa. Trebalo se vratiti nakon svega, sportaši znaju koliko je to teško razdoblje, moraš uhvatiti ritam treninga potom se vratiti u pobjednički niz. Eto uspjela je i stigla je nagrada za sve teško, opet je na svome – radosnim glasom će Pera.

Iza Bernarde je  podsjetimo, jedna iznimno teška odluka, odnosno, donijela je odluku kako će nastupati pod zastavom SAD-a, pa se podignula „velika prašina”, čak i osude. O tome je  njezin otac otvoreno govorio i isticao kako opcija povratka pod hrvatskih stijeg nikad nije upitan.

- Bila je to  jedna od težih odluka za sve nas, prije svega Bernardu koja je imala veliku želju biti dio reprezentativnog hrvatskog teniskog svijeta. Ali, mi kao obitelj nismo više mogli pratiti njezin put. Amerikanci nisu previše dvojili, prihvatili su je kao svoju, uostalom ima i njihovo državljanstvo, omogućili su joj izvrsne uvjete i nije se moglo odbiti, posebice iz razloga što smo došli „pred zid” – otvoreno će Pera koji je opet iznio, kako kaže, golu istinu o pokušajima da Bernarda bude projekt hrvatskog tenisa, ali i Grada Zadra.

- Ma tražio sam od svih, pokucao na vrata Hrvatskog teniskog saveza i Grada Zadra, međutim, nisam naišao na razumijevanje, očito nisu imali sluha za Bernardinu kvalitetu. A nisam od onih koji imaju veze i vezice, te ih povlaču kad im je potrebno. Mislio sam kako će činjenica da sam dragovoljac Domovinskog rata, branitelj od prvog dana, moći približiti situaciju i tako Hrvatskoj dati još jednu ambasadoricu sporta. Nije išlo i može ih biti sram svih odreda – mirno će Pera koji se nikako ne može načuditi jednome...

- Svjedoci smo kako hrvatski tenisači, odnosno, svi sportaši daju vrhunske rezultate u uvjetima koji se mogu nazvati očajnima, ali nemaju valjanu potporu. Neću ići daleko, zadržat ću se u Zadru i kazati: „Imate u gradu teniski dragulj i to ne znate cijeniti”! Ne mogu takav odnos nazvati nikako drukčije nego sramotnim – ozbiljan je Pera te naveo jedan primjer iz Amerike...

- Jedna njihova tenisačica se našla u sličnoj situaciji, grad u kojem je živjela organizirao je dobrotvornu aukciju na kojoj su se našla poznata imena američkog tenisa. Između ostalih, bili su tu braća blizanci Michael Carl i Bob Bryan, najbolji svjetski igrači u paru, koji su izložili svoju opremu, od sportske odjeće do teniskih rekvizita. Michale je svoj reket prodao za 16 tisuća dolara, dok je moj prijatelj kupio gornji dio njegove trenirke za iznos od 7 tisuća dolara. I to je taj odnos kojeg se kod nas teško može doživjeti – kazao je Pera i nastavio hrvatsku priču....

- Prije nekoliko dana u Zadru je trenirala Venus Williams, ali nisam mogao primijetiti da je bilo tko jednom riječju spomenuo kako je Bernarda iz Zadra i tu činjenicu također iskoristio u promotivne svrhe. Nadalje, mnogi su se, slikovito rečeno „tukli” tko će igrati protiv Venus i siguran sam sto posto kao  za to nisu tražili nikakav novčani  dodatak. A kad je Bernarda u Zadru onda su mnogi spremni biti sparing – partneri, međutim, jedino u slučaju da im Bernarda plati. Eto, kakvi su to ljudi – zaključio je Pera.
