Nino Serdarušić nije se uspio pridružiti Borni Goji i Duji Ajdukoviću u drugom kolu ATP Challengera Split Open. Dvadesettrogodišnji Zagrepčanin, također vlasnik pozivnice organizatora, poražen je od iskusnog Alessandra Giannessija iz Italije 6:4, 6:4. Giannessi je bivši top 100 igrač (sada je 172.) koji je prije tri godine na ATP turniru u Umagu igrao polufinale, a protiv Serdarušića je najavio da bi i mu ovaj tjedan u Hrvatskoj mogao biti uspješan.
Naš tenisač najviše može žaliti za drugim setom u kojem je vodio 3:1 s „breakom” te na svom servisu imao 40-15. Izgubio je taj servis, potom još jedan kod 3:3. Zadnju slamku spasa imao je na servisu Giannessija za meč kod 5:4 kada mu se otvorila „break” prilika, ali ju nije iskoristio.
- Šteta drugog seta. Da sam dobio taj gem na 3:1 priveo bih set kraju. Nanizao sam par loših poena i on se odlijepio – razočaran je bio Nino koji je poput svih tenisača na Challenger razini teško spajao kraj s krajem za vrijeme pauze zbog koronavirusa.
- Bio sam doma šest mjeseci bez ikakvih prihoda. Pokušavao sam se fizički održavati, ali nije bilo lako. Loša je ovo godina za bilo kakve planove. Ništa nije kako bi trebalo biti – dodao je Serdarušić koji će sljedećeg tjedna probati igrati Challenger u Barceloni ili Parmi.
Kao igrač s najvećim renomeom među sudionicima turnira, Viktor Troicki splitskoj se publici pokazao sigurnom pobjedom nad Tatsumom Itom iz Japana (6:2, 6:4). Beogradski je tenisač nekada bio 12. na ATP listi, osvajač je Davis Cupa, Svjetskog kupa i ATP Cupa... Danas su mu 34 godine i tek je 192. u poretku, ali je i dalje igrač koji može ponuditi mnogo te je nedvojbeno mamac za gledatelje.
- Bio sam u Splitu s reprezentacijom u Davis Cupu, ali nikada nisam tu igrao. Drago mi je da sam došao, baš sam htio doći jer ovdje imam puno prijatelja. Zadovoljan sam pobjedom i nadam se da ću se dugo zadržati u turniru. Lijepo je vidjeti i publiku, zna se da je Split teniski grad – rekao nam je Troicki još „vruć” poslije susreta.
Duje Ajduković saznao je ime suparnika u drugom kolu, to je itekako poznato ime – Martin Kližan. Ljevoruki Slovak je protiv Constantina Lestiennea okrenuo 0:3 i 30-40 u trećem setu za pobjedu 4:6, 6:3, 6:4. Francuzu baš i nije sjelo što se Kližan nije ispričao ni za jednu od nekoliko „prasica” koliko ih je imao, a što je u svijetu tenisa praksa. Unatoč tome, Lestienne je imao sve u svojim rukama, no Kližan se uz pomoć domaće publike trgnuo u pravo vrijeme i preokrenuo. Na trenutke je pokazivao zašto je prije samo pet godina bio 24. tenisač svijeta i zašto je u karijeri pobjeđivao Nadala, Đokovića i Thiema. Momak iz Bratislave danas je tek 164. u svjetskom poretku, a u Split je stigao nakon što je ispao iz kvalifikacija Roland Garrosa.
Protivnika je doznao i Borna Gojo, on ide na sedmog nositelja Botica Van de Zandschulpa koji je lako riješio kvalifikanta Peđu Krstina 6:1, 6:1. Drugo kolo izborili su još Tomas Martin Etcheverry i Francisco Cerundolo iz Argentine te Portugalac Frederico Ferreira Silva koji je u dva seta izbacio Amerikanca Ulisesa Blancha, nekoć drugog juniora svijeta u generaciji Tsitsipasa, Shapovalova, De Minaura i Auger-Aliassimea.
Današnji je raspored u znaku konkurencije parova što se hrvatskih predstavnika tiče. Na Centralnom terenu u parovima igraju Gojo i Mili Poljičak protiv Gallowaya i Hach Verduga, a nakon njih tinejdžeri Marino Jakić i Karlo Krolo protiv Tomislava Brkića iz BiH i Viktora Troickog iz Srbije. Na terenu Stella Artois braća Ivan i Matej Sabanov igrat će protiv Maleka Jazirija i Pedra Souse.

Delić kratko trajao
Mate Delić se vratio! Ali, samo za splitski Challenger. Spojio se s Peđom Krstinom iz Srbije i nastupio u konkurenciji parova, no njih su dvojica očekivano poražena od trećih nositelja Treata Hueya s Filipina i Nathaniela Lammonsa iz SAD-a 6:4, 6:4. Bio je to Delićev prvi službeni meč poslije dvije godine.
- U početku je bilo nezgodno jer nisam navikao na tako brze loptice, ali sve u svemu bilo je lijepo opet se natjecati – rekao nam je Delić (27) koji je, sjetimo se, prije pet godina dogurao do 150. mjesta ATP ljestvice, a posljednje dvije godine radi kao trener.
- Radim s Dujom Ajdukovićem, a nekad putujem s Bornom Ćorićem. Otvorio sam novu stranicu u životu tako da je ovaj nastup bio jednokratan povratak. Nema više, haha.
Mate je nedavno postao i tata.
- Baš čekam da mi supruga i dijete izađu iz bolnice da se malo veselim s njima. Žice sam naučio mijenjati, a sad me čeka mijenjanje pelena! - nasmijao se dobro raspoloženi Mate Delić.
U posljednjem meču dana drugi nositelj Jozef Kovalik iz Slovačke svladao je Tunižanina Maleka Jazirija 6:4, 6:7 (0), 6:0 i tako popunio posljednje slobodno mjesto u drugom kolu pojedinačne konkurencije. Bio je to prvi meč turnira odigran pod reflektorima na Centralnom terenu.

Nino Serdarušić nije se uspio pridružiti Borni Goji i Duji Ajdukoviću u drugom kolu ATP Challengera Split Open. Dvadesettrogodišnji Zagrepčanin, također vlasnik pozivnice organizatora, poražen je od iskusnog Alessandra Giannessija iz Italije 6:4, 6:4. Giannessi je bivši top 100 igrač (sada je 172.) koji je prije tri godine na ATP turniru u Umagu igrao polufinale, a protiv Serdarušića je najavio da bi i mu ovaj tjedan u Hrvatskoj mogao biti uspješan.
Naš tenisač najviše može žaliti za drugim setom u kojem je vodio 3:1 s „breakom” te na svom servisu imao 40-15. Izgubio je taj servis, potom još jedan kod 3:3. Zadnju slamku spasa imao je na servisu Giannessija za meč kod 5:4 kada mu se otvorila „break” prilika, ali ju nije iskoristio.
- Šteta drugog seta. Da sam dobio taj gem na 3:1 priveo bih set kraju. Nanizao sam par loših poena i on se odlijepio – razočaran je bio Nino koji je poput svih tenisača na Challenger razini teško spajao kraj s krajem za vrijeme pauze zbog koronavirusa.
- Bio sam doma šest mjeseci bez ikakvih prihoda. Pokušavao sam se fizički održavati, ali nije bilo lako. Loša je ovo godina za bilo kakve planove. Ništa nije kako bi trebalo biti – dodao je Serdarušić koji će sljedećeg tjedna probati igrati Challenger u Barceloni ili Parmi.
Kao igrač s najvećim renomeom među sudionicima turnira, Viktor Troicki splitskoj se publici pokazao sigurnom pobjedom nad Tatsumom Itom iz Japana (6:2, 6:4). Beogradski je tenisač nekada bio 12. na ATP listi, osvajač je Davis Cupa, Svjetskog kupa i ATP Cupa... Danas su mu 34 godine i tek je 192. u poretku, ali je i dalje igrač koji može ponuditi mnogo te je nedvojbeno mamac za gledatelje.
- Bio sam u Splitu s reprezentacijom u Davis Cupu, ali nikada nisam tu igrao. Drago mi je da sam došao, baš sam htio doći jer ovdje imam puno prijatelja. Zadovoljan sam pobjedom i nadam se da ću se dugo zadržati u turniru. Lijepo je vidjeti i publiku, zna se da je Split teniski grad – rekao nam je Troicki još „vruć” poslije susreta.
Duje Ajduković saznao je ime suparnika u drugom kolu, to je itekako poznato ime – Martin Kližan. Ljevoruki Slovak je protiv Constantina Lestiennea okrenuo 0:3 i 30-40 u trećem setu za pobjedu 4:6, 6:3, 6:4. Francuzu baš i nije sjelo što se Kližan nije ispričao ni za jednu od nekoliko „prasica” koliko ih je imao, a što je u svijetu tenisa praksa. Unatoč tome, Lestienne je imao sve u svojim rukama, no Kližan se uz pomoć domaće publike trgnuo u pravo vrijeme i preokrenuo. Na trenutke je pokazivao zašto je prije samo pet godina bio 24. tenisač svijeta i zašto je u karijeri pobjeđivao Nadala, Đokovića i Thiema. Momak iz Bratislave danas je tek 164. u svjetskom poretku, a u Split je stigao nakon što je ispao iz kvalifikacija Roland Garrosa.
Protivnika je doznao i Borna Gojo, on ide na sedmog nositelja Botica Van de Zandschulpa koji je lako riješio kvalifikanta Peđu Krstina 6:1, 6:1. Drugo kolo izborili su još Tomas Martin Etcheverry i Francisco Cerundolo iz Argentine te Portugalac Frederico Ferreira Silva koji je u dva seta izbacio Amerikanca Ulisesa Blancha, nekoć drugog juniora svijeta u generaciji Tsitsipasa, Shapovalova, De Minaura i Auger-Aliassimea.
Današnji je raspored u znaku konkurencije parova što se hrvatskih predstavnika tiče. Na Centralnom terenu u parovima igraju Gojo i Mili Poljičak protiv Gallowaya i Hach Verduga, a nakon njih tinejdžeri Marino Jakić i Karlo Krolo protiv Tomislava Brkića iz BiH i Viktora Troickog iz Srbije. Na terenu Stella Artois braća Ivan i Matej Sabanov igrat će protiv Maleka Jazirija i Pedra Souse.

Delić kratko trajao
Mate Delić se vratio! Ali, samo za splitski Challenger. Spojio se s Peđom Krstinom iz Srbije i nastupio u konkurenciji parova, no njih su dvojica očekivano poražena od trećih nositelja Treata Hueya s Filipina i Nathaniela Lammonsa iz SAD-a 6:4, 6:4. Bio je to Delićev prvi službeni meč poslije dvije godine.
- U početku je bilo nezgodno jer nisam navikao na tako brze loptice, ali sve u svemu bilo je lijepo opet se natjecati – rekao nam je Delić (27) koji je, sjetimo se, prije pet godina dogurao do 150. mjesta ATP ljestvice, a posljednje dvije godine radi kao trener.
- Radim s Dujom Ajdukovićem, a nekad putujem s Bornom Ćorićem. Otvorio sam novu stranicu u životu tako da je ovaj nastup bio jednokratan povratak. Nema više, haha.
Mate je nedavno postao i tata.
- Baš čekam da mi supruga i dijete izađu iz bolnice da se malo veselim s njima. Žice sam naučio mijenjati, a sad me čeka mijenjanje pelena! - nasmijao se dobro raspoloženi Mate Delić.
U posljednjem meču dana drugi nositelj Jozef Kovalik iz Slovačke svladao je Tunižanina Maleka Jazirija 6:4, 6:7 (0), 6:0 i tako popunio posljednje slobodno mjesto u drugom kolu pojedinačne konkurencije. Bio je to prvi meč turnira odigran pod reflektorima na Centralnom terenu.
