Sutra će splitski tenisač medijima odaslati poziv za konferenciju za novinare koju će održati u srijedu u prostorijama svog Tenis kluba Split te će na taj način javno objaviti kraj karijere u klubu u kojemu je njegov bogati teniski put i počeo. Brojni zdravstveni problemi skratili su karijeru velikog talenta, a ovaj zadnji, bol u leđima zbog problema s diskovima, bio je presudan. Uz tegobe s leđima Ančiću nije moguće igrati profesionalni tenis.

Svoju je ispovijest ostavio za srijedu, tada će svima zajedno kazati što mu je na duši, koliko su ga pogodile sve te silne ozljede i bolesti te što planira u nastavku života, nakon teniske karijere. Prve će godine svakako većim dijelom posvetiti pravu, diplomu posjeduje, a za očekivati je da će se nastaviti usavršavati i lako moguće karijeru graditi i izvan granica Lijepe naše.

Problem s leđima eskalirao je prošle godine u svibnju kada je otkazao meč na ATP turniru u Nici protiv Cipranina Marcosa Baghdatisa. Uslijedio je i otkaz Roland Garrosa, a nadao se tada Splićanin nastupu u travnatom dijelu sezone, kao povratnik imao je i zajamčenu pozivnicu za Queen’s, no nije išlo. Otkazan je i Wimbledon, potom i Davis Cup u njegovome Splitu protiv Srbije.

Nakon tih otkaza Ančić se povukao, nije ga bilo baš puno u javnosti, radio je na mogućem povratku, obilazio liječnike, no postajalo je sve jasnije kako će profesionalni tenis više teško zaigrati. Ančić se nije predavao do zadnjeg trenutka, tražio je druga i treća mišljenja, putovao je u SAD, posjećivao klinike u Francuskoj i Njemačkoj, boravio u Daruvarskim toplicama...

Ipak, nije išlo, morao je ‘objesiti reket o klin’.

Sutra će splitski tenisač medijima odaslati poziv za konferenciju za novinare koju će održati u srijedu u prostorijama svog Tenis kluba Split te će na taj način javno objaviti kraj karijere u klubu u kojemu je njegov bogati teniski put i počeo. Brojni zdravstveni problemi skratili su karijeru velikog talenta, a ovaj zadnji, bol u leđima zbog problema s diskovima, bio je presudan. Uz tegobe s leđima Ančiću nije moguće igrati profesionalni tenis.

Svoju je ispovijest ostavio za srijedu, tada će svima zajedno kazati što mu je na duši, koliko su ga pogodile sve te silne ozljede i bolesti te što planira u nastavku života, nakon teniske karijere. Prve će godine svakako većim dijelom posvetiti pravu, diplomu posjeduje, a za očekivati je da će se nastaviti usavršavati i lako moguće karijeru graditi i izvan granica Lijepe naše.

Problem s leđima eskalirao je prošle godine u svibnju kada je otkazao meč na ATP turniru u Nici protiv Cipranina Marcosa Baghdatisa. Uslijedio je i otkaz Roland Garrosa, a nadao se tada Splićanin nastupu u travnatom dijelu sezone, kao povratnik imao je i zajamčenu pozivnicu za Queen’s, no nije išlo. Otkazan je i Wimbledon, potom i Davis Cup u njegovome Splitu protiv Srbije.

Nakon tih otkaza Ančić se povukao, nije ga bilo baš puno u javnosti, radio je na mogućem povratku, obilazio liječnike, no postajalo je sve jasnije kako će profesionalni tenis više teško zaigrati. Ančić se nije predavao do zadnjeg trenutka, tražio je druga i treća mišljenja, putovao je u SAD, posjećivao klinike u Francuskoj i Njemačkoj, boravio u Daruvarskim toplicama...

Ipak, nije išlo, morao je ‘objesiti reket o klin’.
