Premda ima tek 24 godine, čini se kao da je Marija Šarapova već vrlo iskusna tenisačica, a to je i pokazala u drugom polufinalnom susretu u Melbournu. Ruskinja je na najbolji način uzvratila 21-godišnjoj Čehinji za lanjski poraz u finalu Wimledona, te poravnala njihov međusobni omjer na 2-2.

Ključni element u susretu zasigurno je bila realizacija lopti za obrat gdje je savršeno mirno i sigurno u tim trenucima djelovala Šarapova iskoristivši baš svaku šansu koja joj se ukazala. Ruskinja je realizirala pet od pet prilika za oduzimanje servisa Kvitovoj, koja je za samo tri breaka trebala čak 14 šansi.

U prvom setu Šarapova je u tri navrata oduzimala početni udarac Čehinji, a do izjednačenja u drugom setu Kvitova je došla iskoristivši jednu od pet break lopti, dok suparnici nije pružila niti jednu. Međutim, lošoj realizaciji mlada češka tenisačica vratila se u zadnoj dionici kada je "iskusna" Šarapova obje prilike pretvorila u break, a Kvitova tek jednu od pet.

Zanimljivo, oba polufinalna susreta trajala su u minutu jednako, dva sata i 12 minuta, a veliki finale donijet će nam i novi svjetski broj jedan na WTA ljestvici. Bolja iz ogleda 3. nositeljice Viktorije Azarenke i 4. nositeljice Marije Šarapove po prvi puta će postati najbolje rangirana tenisačica na svijetu.

Premda ima tek 24 godine, čini se kao da je Marija Šarapova već vrlo iskusna tenisačica, a to je i pokazala u drugom polufinalnom susretu u Melbournu. Ruskinja je na najbolji način uzvratila 21-godišnjoj Čehinji za lanjski poraz u finalu Wimledona, te poravnala njihov međusobni omjer na 2-2.

Ključni element u susretu zasigurno je bila realizacija lopti za obrat gdje je savršeno mirno i sigurno u tim trenucima djelovala Šarapova iskoristivši baš svaku šansu koja joj se ukazala. Ruskinja je realizirala pet od pet prilika za oduzimanje servisa Kvitovoj, koja je za samo tri breaka trebala čak 14 šansi.

U prvom setu Šarapova je u tri navrata oduzimala početni udarac Čehinji, a do izjednačenja u drugom setu Kvitova je došla iskoristivši jednu od pet break lopti, dok suparnici nije pružila niti jednu. Međutim, lošoj realizaciji mlada češka tenisačica vratila se u zadnoj dionici kada je "iskusna" Šarapova obje prilike pretvorila u break, a Kvitova tek jednu od pet.

Zanimljivo, oba polufinalna susreta trajala su u minutu jednako, dva sata i 12 minuta, a veliki finale donijet će nam i novi svjetski broj jedan na WTA ljestvici. Bolja iz ogleda 3. nositeljice Viktorije Azarenke i 4. nositeljice Marije Šarapove po prvi puta će postati najbolje rangirana tenisačica na svijetu.
