Australski nogometaš Josh Cavallo otkrio je u srijedu da je homoseksualac postavši tako prvi aktivni nogometaš u australskom prvenstvu koji je to učinio.

"Nogometaš sam i homoseksualac sam", objavio je na društvenim mrežama 21-godišnji Cavallo.

"Sve što želim je igrati nogomet i da me se tretira jednako kao druge", dodao je.

"Iscrpljujuće je igrati najbolje što možeš i pritom živjeti dvostruki život. To je iskustvo koje ne bih poželio nikome", priznao je.

Malo je profesionalnih nogometaša javno otkrilo svoju homoseksualnost i to učine tek kada završe profesionalnu karijeru kako bi izbjegli homofobne napade od strane navijača.

Prvi je to učinio Englez Justin Fashanu tijekom 90-ih, ali je on počinio samoubojstvo 1998. nakon što je prestao igrati nogomet.

Cavallo je kazao i da mu je Fashanuov slučaj bio u mislima  kada je razmišljao o tome da otkrije svoju homoseksualnost.

"Sjećam se da sam čitao da je Justin Fashanu bio prvi profesionalni nogometaš koji je otkrio svoju homoseksualnost u 90-ima i da je počinio samoubojstvo osam godina kasnije i to mi je dalo misliti", rekao je mladi Australac istaknuvši kako je dobio "ogromnu" potporu svog kluba Adelaide Uniteda, suigrača i australskih nogometnih dužnosnika.

Pritom je dodao da želi postati primjer za druge nogometaše koji još skrivaju svoju seksualnu orijentaciju.

Bivši igrač Newcastle Jetsa Andy Brennan je 2019. godine otkrio da je homoseksualac i tako je postao prvi aktivni nogometaš koji je progovorio o svojoj seksualnosti. Thomas Hitzlsperger, čovjek koji je 52 puta nosio dres njemačke reprezentacije, postao je prvi istaknuti nogometaš u povijesti koji je javno priznao da je homoseksualac.

Australski nogometaš Josh Cavallo otkrio je u srijedu da je homoseksualac postavši tako prvi aktivni nogometaš u australskom prvenstvu koji je to učinio.

"Nogometaš sam i homoseksualac sam", objavio je na društvenim mrežama 21-godišnji Cavallo.

"Sve što želim je igrati nogomet i da me se tretira jednako kao druge", dodao je.

"Iscrpljujuće je igrati najbolje što možeš i pritom živjeti dvostruki život. To je iskustvo koje ne bih poželio nikome", priznao je.

Malo je profesionalnih nogometaša javno otkrilo svoju homoseksualnost i to učine tek kada završe profesionalnu karijeru kako bi izbjegli homofobne napade od strane navijača.

Prvi je to učinio Englez Justin Fashanu tijekom 90-ih, ali je on počinio samoubojstvo 1998. nakon što je prestao igrati nogomet.

Cavallo je kazao i da mu je Fashanuov slučaj bio u mislima  kada je razmišljao o tome da otkrije svoju homoseksualnost.

"Sjećam se da sam čitao da je Justin Fashanu bio prvi profesionalni nogometaš koji je otkrio svoju homoseksualnost u 90-ima i da je počinio samoubojstvo osam godina kasnije i to mi je dalo misliti", rekao je mladi Australac istaknuvši kako je dobio "ogromnu" potporu svog kluba Adelaide Uniteda, suigrača i australskih nogometnih dužnosnika.

Pritom je dodao da želi postati primjer za druge nogometaše koji još skrivaju svoju seksualnu orijentaciju.

Bivši igrač Newcastle Jetsa Andy Brennan je 2019. godine otkrio da je homoseksualac i tako je postao prvi aktivni nogometaš koji je progovorio o svojoj seksualnosti. Thomas Hitzlsperger, čovjek koji je 52 puta nosio dres njemačke reprezentacije, postao je prvi istaknuti nogometaš u povijesti koji je javno priznao da je homoseksualac.

Australski nogometaš Josh Cavallo otkrio je u srijedu da je homoseksualac postavši tako prvi aktivni nogometaš u australskom prvenstvu koji je to učinio.

"Nogometaš sam i homoseksualac sam", objavio je na društvenim mrežama 21-godišnji Cavallo.

"Sve što želim je igrati nogomet i da me se tretira jednako kao druge", dodao je.

"Iscrpljujuće je igrati najbolje što možeš i pritom živjeti dvostruki život. To je iskustvo koje ne bih poželio nikome", priznao je.

Malo je profesionalnih nogometaša javno otkrilo svoju homoseksualnost i to učine tek kada završe profesionalnu karijeru kako bi izbjegli homofobne napade od strane navijača. 

Prvi je to učinio Englez Justin Fashanu tijekom 90-ih, ali je on počinio samoubojstvo 1998. nakon što je prestao igrati nogomet.
