Francuski rukometaš Nikola Karabatić neće moći u siječnju iduće godine sudjelovati na svjetskom prvenstvu jer je operirao lijevo stopalo i za oporavak mu je potrebno do šest mjeseci, objavljeno je na stranicama njegovog kluba PSG-a. 

"Bol je postala prejaka. Bilo mi je nemoguće igrati i trenirati", kazao je 34-godišnji Karabatić kojem će za oporavak od operacije treba od četiri do šest mjeseci. On od prosinca 2016. ima problema s devijacijom palca na stopalu.

Karabatić je s reprezentacijom Francuske osvojio dva olimpijska naslova, četiri naslova svjetskih prvaka i tri naslova europskih prvaka. 

"To će biti prvo veliko natjecanje na kojem neću biti s reprezentacijom. Bilo mi je teško odustati od toga. Istovremeno, znam da ne bih mogao igrati da sam nastavio igrati. Štoviše, da sam nastavio igrati samo bih pogoršao ozljedu i možda zbog toga morao okončati karijeru", dodao je. 

Ova operacije je također težak udarac za prvaka Francuske PSG koji ove godine pokušava osvojiti rukometnu Ligu prvaka nakon što tri godine zaredom nije uspio.

Francuska, koja je osvojila naslov prvaka na svom terenu prije dvije godine, branit će naslov na SP-u u Njemačkoj i Danskoj od 10. siječnja.

Francuski rukometaš Nikola Karabatić neće moći u siječnju iduće godine sudjelovati na svjetskom prvenstvu jer je operirao lijevo stopalo i za oporavak mu je potrebno do šest mjeseci, objavljeno je na stranicama njegovog kluba PSG-a. 

"Bol je postala prejaka. Bilo mi je nemoguće igrati i trenirati", kazao je 34-godišnji Karabatić kojem će za oporavak od operacije treba od četiri do šest mjeseci. On od prosinca 2016. ima problema s devijacijom palca na stopalu.

Karabatić je s reprezentacijom Francuske osvojio dva olimpijska naslova, četiri naslova svjetskih prvaka i tri naslova europskih prvaka. 

"To će biti prvo veliko natjecanje na kojem neću biti s reprezentacijom. Bilo mi je teško odustati od toga. Istovremeno, znam da ne bih mogao igrati da sam nastavio igrati. Štoviše, da sam nastavio igrati samo bih pogoršao ozljedu i možda zbog toga morao okončati karijeru", dodao je. 

Ova operacije je također težak udarac za prvaka Francuske PSG koji ove godine pokušava osvojiti rukometnu Ligu prvaka nakon što tri godine zaredom nije uspio.

Francuska, koja je osvojila naslov prvaka na svom terenu prije dvije godine, branit će naslov na SP-u u Njemačkoj i Danskoj od 10. siječnja.
