U nešto više od mjesec dana oboreno je ukupno 13 svjetskih rekorda u plivanju, no čelnicima Međunarodnog plivačkog saveza to je suprotno očekivanjima donijelo samo glavobolju. Problem je nastao zbog toga što su sve osim jednog rekorda oborili plivači koji su nosili kostime tvrtke Speedo.

Upravo kako je reklamiran, revolucionarni LZR Racer kojeg su vodeći ljudi plivanja odobrili prošle godine zaslužan je smatraju mnogi za čitav niz novih najboljih vremena u bazenima diljem svijeta. Speedo je u njegov razvoj uložio milijun eura tijekom tri godine istraživanja, 3D tehnologijom skenirano je 400 tijela plivača, a u izradu LZR Racera uključili su čak i stručnjake američke NASA-e. Imitira tijelo dupina, od iznimno je lagang materijala, a jedini je kupaći kostim koji nema šavove već su oni laserski spojeni.

Jedina im je mana što su toliko osjetljivi da su su često upotrebljivi samo za jednu utrku, što ih čini iznimno skupim, jer je jedno odijelo oko 500 eura.

- Plivanje je oduvijek bio sport u kojem ste isključivo ovisili o vlastitim sposobnostima. No, sada se događa da neki plivači imaju opremu koja je tehnološki superiornija i automatski su u prednosti pred onima koji nemaju takvu opremu - bučno je negodovao bivši dvostruki olimpijski pobjednik u plivanju Kieren Perkins.

Noćas oboren još jedan svjetski rekord

Na australskim olimpijskim kvalifikacijama domaća plivačica Stephanie Rice (19) postavila jedanas novi svjetski rekord na 200 metara mješovito, plivajući 2:08.92 minute. Time je za 80 stotinki nadmašila dosadašnji rekord, kojeg je 1997. ostvarila Kineskinja Wu Yanyan. 
Ovo je drugi svjetski rekord kojeg je ostvarila Stephanie Rice na
australskim olimpijskim kvalifikacijama. Prije tri dana postavila je
svjetski rekord na 400 metara mješovito.

U nešto više od mjesec dana oboreno je ukupno 13 svjetskih rekorda u plivanju, no čelnicima Međunarodnog plivačkog saveza to je suprotno očekivanjima donijelo samo glavobolju. Problem je nastao zbog toga što su sve osim jednog rekorda oborili plivači koji su nosili kostime tvrtke Speedo.

Upravo kako je reklamiran, revolucionarni LZR Racer kojeg su vodeći ljudi plivanja odobrili prošle godine zaslužan je smatraju mnogi za čitav niz novih najboljih vremena u bazenima diljem svijeta. Speedo je u njegov razvoj uložio milijun eura tijekom tri godine istraživanja, 3D tehnologijom skenirano je 400 tijela plivača, a u izradu LZR Racera uključili su čak i stručnjake američke NASA-e. Imitira tijelo dupina, od iznimno je lagang materijala, a jedini je kupaći kostim koji nema šavove već su oni laserski spojeni.

Jedina im je mana što su toliko osjetljivi da su su često upotrebljivi samo za jednu utrku, što ih čini iznimno skupim, jer je jedno odijelo oko 500 eura.

- Plivanje je oduvijek bio sport u kojem ste isključivo ovisili o vlastitim sposobnostima. No, sada se događa da neki plivači imaju opremu koja je tehnološki superiornija i automatski su u prednosti pred onima koji nemaju takvu opremu - bučno je negodovao bivši dvostruki olimpijski pobjednik u plivanju Kieren Perkins.

Noćas oboren još jedan svjetski rekord

Na australskim olimpijskim kvalifikacijama domaća plivačica Stephanie Rice (19) postavila jedanas novi svjetski rekord na 200 metara mješovito, plivajući 2:08.92 minute. Time je za 80 stotinki nadmašila dosadašnji rekord, kojeg je 1997. ostvarila Kineskinja Wu Yanyan. 
Ovo je drugi svjetski rekord kojeg je ostvarila Stephanie Rice na
australskim olimpijskim kvalifikacijama. Prije tri dana postavila je
svjetski rekord na 400 metara mješovito.
