Ragbijaši Južnoafričke Republike obranili su naslov svjetskih prvaka nakon što su u finalu ovogodišnjeg SP na Stade de Franceu svladali Novi Zeland sa 12:11 (12:6) te je tako JAR postala prva zemlja s četiri naslova svjetskog prvaka.

Finale je bilo prava "rovovska bitka" po kiši na Stade de Franceu tijekom koje je pobjednički sastav sve svoje poene postigao iz kaznenih udaraca, dok je Novi Zeland postigao jedno polaganje, ali nakon njega Mo‘unga nije uspio pogoditi pretvaranje kojim bi osigurao preokret.

U susret su bolje krenuli Južnoafrikanci, a u tome su im svojom nedisciplinom uvelike pomogli Novozelanđani. Već u 3. minuti na 10 minuta je zbog prekršaja izbačen Frizell pa je  JAR iz kazni koje je realizirao Pollard povela sa 6-0. Potom su Mo‘unga i Pollard izmijenili pogotke iz kazni za 9-3 da bi u 29. minuti kapetan Novog Zelanda Sam Cane isključen zbog udaranja ramenom u glavu suparnika. Iako s igračem manje, Novi Zeland je bio aktivniji, no do kraja prvog dijela momčadi su još samo izmijenilie po pogodak iz kazni.

Drugo poluvrijeme je donijelo više nediscipline kod JAR-a, u 46. minuti na 10 minuta je iz igre izbačen Kolisi, a pritisak Novozelanđana je urodio polaganjem Beudeana Barrettsa za 12:11 u 58. minuti. No, Mo‘unga je promašio pretvaranje za preokret. 

Pomalo "ziheraška" igra JAR-a, koja je više od 50 minuta imala igrača više, umalo joj se osvetila jer je u 73. minuti iz igre izbačen i Kolbe zbog namjernog igranja loptom prema naprijed, a priliku da iz kaznenog udarca dovede Novi Zeland u vodstvo dobio je Jordi Barrett. Ipak, JAR je i to "preživjela" jer je Barrett bio neprecizan.

Rezultat se više nije mijenjao pa je JAR naslovima iz 1995., 2007. i 2019. pridodala i ovogodišnji.

Zanimljivo, ovo je bio četvrti finale za JAR i četvrta pobjeda. Na ovogodišnjem SP u Francuskoj Južnoafrikanci su u sve tri utakmice u nokaut-fazi slavili s jedan razlike, u četvrtfinalu su svladali Francuze sa 29-28, a u polufinalu Engleze sa 16-15.

Također, JAR je postala druga reprezentacija koja je uspjela obraniti naslov, dosada je to uspjelo samo Novom Zelandu 2011. i 2015.

Novi Zeland je, pak, ostao na tri naslova, uz 2011. i 2015. imaju i prvi iz 1987., a ovo mu je bo drugi poraz u finalu. I prvoga su doživjeli od JAR-a 1995., tada u produžetku u Johannesburgu.

Ragbijaši Južnoafričke Republike obranili su naslov svjetskih prvaka nakon što su u finalu ovogodišnjeg SP na Stade de Franceu svladali Novi Zeland sa 12:11 (12:6) te je tako JAR postala prva zemlja s četiri naslova svjetskog prvaka.

Finale je bilo prava "rovovska bitka" po kiši na Stade de Franceu tijekom koje je pobjednički sastav sve svoje poene postigao iz kaznenih udaraca, dok je Novi Zeland postigao jedno polaganje, ali nakon njega Mo‘unga nije uspio pogoditi pretvaranje kojim bi osigurao preokret.

U susret su bolje krenuli Južnoafrikanci, a u tome su im svojom nedisciplinom uvelike pomogli Novozelanđani. Već u 3. minuti na 10 minuta je zbog prekršaja izbačen Frizell pa je  JAR iz kazni koje je realizirao Pollard povela sa 6-0. Potom su Mo‘unga i Pollard izmijenili pogotke iz kazni za 9-3 da bi u 29. minuti kapetan Novog Zelanda Sam Cane isključen zbog udaranja ramenom u glavu suparnika. Iako s igračem manje, Novi Zeland je bio aktivniji, no do kraja prvog dijela momčadi su još samo izmijenilie po pogodak iz kazni.

Drugo poluvrijeme je donijelo više nediscipline kod JAR-a, u 46. minuti na 10 minuta je iz igre izbačen Kolisi, a pritisak Novozelanđana je urodio polaganjem Beudeana Barrettsa za 12:11 u 58. minuti. No, Mo‘unga je promašio pretvaranje za preokret. 

Pomalo "ziheraška" igra JAR-a, koja je više od 50 minuta imala igrača više, umalo joj se osvetila jer je u 73. minuti iz igre izbačen i Kolbe zbog namjernog igranja loptom prema naprijed, a priliku da iz kaznenog udarca dovede Novi Zeland u vodstvo dobio je Jordi Barrett. Ipak, JAR je i to "preživjela" jer je Barrett bio neprecizan.

Rezultat se više nije mijenjao pa je JAR naslovima iz 1995., 2007. i 2019. pridodala i ovogodišnji.

Zanimljivo, ovo je bio četvrti finale za JAR i četvrta pobjeda. Na ovogodišnjem SP u Francuskoj Južnoafrikanci su u sve tri utakmice u nokaut-fazi slavili s jedan razlike, u četvrtfinalu su svladali Francuze sa 29-28, a u polufinalu Engleze sa 16-15.

Također, JAR je postala druga reprezentacija koja je uspjela obraniti naslov, dosada je to uspjelo samo Novom Zelandu 2011. i 2015.

Novi Zeland je, pak, ostao na tri naslova, uz 2011. i 2015. imaju i prvi iz 1987., a ovo mu je bo drugi poraz u finalu. I prvoga su doživjeli od JAR-a 1995., tada u produžetku u Johannesburgu.

Južnoafrička republika opet najbolja, postali su prva reprezentacija s četiri svjetska naslova

Ragbijaši Južnoafričke Republike obranili su naslov svjetskih prvaka nakon što su u finalu ovogodišnjeg SP na Stade de Franceu svladali Novi Zeland sa 12:11 (12:6) te je tako JAR postala prva zemlja s četiri naslova svjetskog prvaka.

Finale je bilo prava "rovovska bitka" po kiši na Stade de Franceu tijekom koje je pobjednički sastav sve svoje poene postigao iz kaznenih udaraca, dok je Novi Zeland postigao jedno polaganje, ali nakon njega Mo‘unga nije uspio pogoditi pretvaranje kojim bi osigurao preokret.

U susret su bolje krenuli Južnoafrikanci, a u tome su im svojom nedisciplinom uvelike pomogli Novozelanđani. Već u 3. minuti na 10 minuta je zbog prekršaja izbačen Frizell pa je  JAR iz kazni koje je realizirao Pollard povela sa 6-0.
