Ana Vrsaljko je presjekla loptu te se sjurila prema košu Medveščaka, prije nje je to napravila i Carmen Miloglav, a svemu su prethodila četiri koša u nizu Ive Todorić nakon što je Medveščak u Gospinom polju vodio s 59:56. I u tom trenutku, kad je i Vrsaljko pogodila, krenulo je odbrojavale posljednjih sekundi treće utakmice finala doigravanja za prvaka, a kad je istekla i ta posljednja sekunda, dogodila se eksplozija radosti.

Ruke su poletjele u vis, utrčali su svi s dubrovačke klupe u teren, navrle su suze radosnice na oči, zatim smo gledali grčevite zagrljaje, sve to je govorilo: Uspjele smo! Najbolje smo! Košarkašice Raguse su osvojile naslov prvaka u velikom stilu. Manirom velike ekipe. U velikom finalu su sve riješile u sedam dana. Pobijedile prvo kod kuće u nedjelju, 2. svibnja, zatim u gostima u srijedu, 5. svibnja, te na kraju u nedjelju, 9. svibnja, opet kod kuće, i to su dobile s čistih 3:0 Medveščak, klub koji je uzeo prethodnih šest prvenstava.

Prekid tog niza Medveščaka se očekivao sezonu prije. Međutim, korona je uspjela, što nije uspio nitko, zaustavila je Ragusu, koja je u jesen 2020. godine morala krenuti ispočetka, od nule. Dobila je svih deset utakmica u južnoj skupini, izborila uvjerljivo Ligu za prvaka, te opet morala krenuti ispočetka. I opet najbolja nakon novih deset utakmica, te je po prvi put u povijesti uplovila u veliko finale prvenstva, a u njemu ćemo pamtiti izuzetne partije Carmen Miloglav, Romane Stojanović, Ive Todorić i Ane Vrsaljko, poredali smo ih po abecedi, ne znaš tko je više potegao ne samo u finalnoj seriji, već cijele sezone, zatim Ivona Matić, koja je nakon finala zaključila karijeru, oprostila se na najljepši mogući način, pa Marija Pocrnjić, Ella Majstorović, Ani Putica, Matea Beletić i Tea Ivanišević, pa dvije reprezentativke, Josipa Silov, koja je stigla uoči Lige za prvaka i koja je u trećoj pogađala kad je to bilo najvažnije, a ne možemo zaboraviti ni Ivu Slonjšak, koja je nakon trećeg kola karijeru nastavila u Francuskoj.

 Plus kvartet najmlađih, Lucija Papić, Paula Mojaš, Karla Raguž Lučić i Paula Lobaš, koje su također upisale nekoliko nastupa, te koševa u sezoni za povijest. Za kraj smo ostavili kapetanicu. Katarina Zarač, prva među jednakima, prva je podigla pokal prvaka, te preuzela zlatne medalje. Potom opet zagrljaji, radost. Igračice, trenerice Cvetana Matić i Alma Majstorović, kondicijski trener Srđan Milić, predsjednik Tomislav Tabak... Sve se slilo u jedno golemo klupko radosti. Ragusa je 2021. uzela oba domaća trofeja, a to su prva dva trofeja u njenoj povijesti.

Prije 27 godina, u danima feste svetog Vlaha, zakotrljala se priča o ženskoj košarci. Zdravko Kitin, Cvijeto Kapetanić i Dragan Medan su prvi potegli, udarili temelj Ragusi, Kitin je potezao najviše, više od dva desetljeća, a u tih proteklih 27 godina generacije i generacije igračica, trenera, članova uprave radili su, te sanjali...

Taj njihov san je postao stvarnost u nedjelju, 11. travnja 2021. godine. Pobjeda 69:61 protiv Šibenika u finalu Kupa Ružice Meglaj Rimac na splitskim Gripama. Kup posvećujemo našem ‘Bilom anđelu’, Andru Zaraču, preminulom bratu naših igračica, kapetanice Katarine i Matee, mladom sportašu, malonogometašu Squarea, koji je skupa sa svojim roditeljima uvijek bio uz naš klub, veliki navijač... – pamtit će se kako je emotivan bio Tomislav Tabak, predsjednik Raguse.

Dok je to govorio, pogledavao je prema blizankama, Katarini Čagalj i Matei Beletić, ex. Zarač. - Njih dvije su živjele za ovaj trenutak - dodao je Tabak.

- Svaki put kad promislim na to koliko sam silno željela podići ta dva trofeja za svog pokojnog brata, poteku mi suze. Da, to je bila moja najveća želja prošle sezone, te moje sestre Matee, koja se vratila treninzima nakon te naše obiteljske tragedije

- I obje smo silno željele, sanjale, kako ćemo u tome uspjeti već 2020. godine. Dogodila se korona, sezona je prekinuta, te poništena. Mi smo dobile sve utakmice u prvenstvu i kupu, bile vodeće u prvenstvu, a završni turnir kupa se trebao igrati u našoj dvorani. objeđivale smo u prosjeku 30 koševa razlike. Ali, što nismo uspjeli tad, jesmo iduće sezone. I danas, kad smo nagrađene s jednom uistinu lijepom nagradom, a što je nagrada Slobodne za najuspješniju žensku ekipu Dalmacije, zastanemo, te vrtimo film te prošle sezone. Sretne, presretne, a držeći ovu nagradu Slobodne priželjkujemo da je zaslužimo i ove godine – poželjela je kapetanica Raguse Katarina Čagalj.

Ana Vrsaljko je presjekla loptu te se sjurila prema košu Medveščaka, prije nje je to napravila i Carmen Miloglav, a svemu su prethodila četiri koša u nizu Ive Todorić nakon što je Medveščak u Gospinom polju vodio s 59:56. I u tom trenutku, kad je i Vrsaljko pogodila, krenulo je odbrojavale posljednjih sekundi treće utakmice finala doigravanja za prvaka, a kad je istekla i ta posljednja sekunda, dogodila se eksplozija radosti.

Ruke su poletjele u vis, utrčali su svi s dubrovačke klupe u teren, navrle su suze radosnice na oči, zatim smo gledali grčevite zagrljaje, sve to je govorilo: Uspjele smo! Najbolje smo! Košarkašice Raguse su osvojile naslov prvaka u velikom stilu. Manirom velike ekipe. U velikom finalu su sve riješile u sedam dana. Pobijedile prvo kod kuće u nedjelju, 2. svibnja, zatim u gostima u srijedu, 5. svibnja, te na kraju u nedjelju, 9. svibnja, opet kod kuće, i to su dobile s čistih 3:0 Medveščak, klub koji je uzeo prethodnih šest prvenstava.

Prekid tog niza Medveščaka se očekivao sezonu prije. Međutim, korona je uspjela, što nije uspio nitko, zaustavila je Ragusu, koja je u jesen 2020. godine morala krenuti ispočetka, od nule. Dobila je svih deset utakmica u južnoj skupini, izborila uvjerljivo Ligu za prvaka, te opet morala krenuti ispočetka. I opet najbolja nakon novih deset utakmica, te je po prvi put u povijesti uplovila u veliko finale prvenstva, a u njemu ćemo pamtiti izuzetne partije Carmen Miloglav, Romane Stojanović, Ive Todorić i Ane Vrsaljko, poredali smo ih po abecedi, ne znaš tko je više potegao ne samo u finalnoj seriji, već cijele sezone, zatim Ivona Matić, koja je nakon finala zaključila karijeru, oprostila se na najljepši mogući način, pa Marija Pocrnjić, Ella Majstorović, Ani Putica, Matea Beletić i Tea Ivanišević, pa dvije reprezentativke, Josipa Silov, koja je stigla uoči Lige za prvaka i koja je u trećoj pogađala kad je to bilo najvažnije, a ne možemo zaboraviti ni Ivu Slonjšak, koja je nakon trećeg kola karijeru nastavila u Francuskoj.

 Plus kvartet najmlađih, Lucija Papić, Paula Mojaš, Karla Raguž Lučić i Paula Lobaš, koje su također upisale nekoliko nastupa, te koševa u sezoni za povijest. Za kraj smo ostavili kapetanicu. Katarina Zarač, prva među jednakima, prva je podigla pokal prvaka, te preuzela zlatne medalje. Potom opet zagrljaji, radost. Igračice, trenerice Cvetana Matić i Alma Majstorović, kondicijski trener Srđan Milić, predsjednik Tomislav Tabak... Sve se slilo u jedno golemo klupko radosti. Ragusa je 2021. uzela oba domaća trofeja, a to su prva dva trofeja u njenoj povijesti.

Prije 27 godina, u danima feste svetog Vlaha, zakotrljala se priča o ženskoj košarci. Zdravko Kitin, Cvijeto Kapetanić i Dragan Medan su prvi potegli, udarili temelj Ragusi, Kitin je potezao najviše, više od dva desetljeća, a u tih proteklih 27 godina generacije i generacije igračica, trenera, članova uprave radili su, te sanjali...

Taj njihov san je postao stvarnost u nedjelju, 11. travnja 2021. godine. Pobjeda 69:61 protiv Šibenika u finalu Kupa Ružice Meglaj Rimac na splitskim Gripama. Kup posvećujemo našem ‘Bilom anđelu’, Andru Zaraču, preminulom bratu naših igračica, kapetanice Katarine i Matee, mladom sportašu, malonogometašu Squarea, koji je skupa sa svojim roditeljima uvijek bio uz naš klub, veliki navijač... – pamtit će se kako je emotivan bio Tomislav Tabak, predsjednik Raguse.

Dok je to govorio, pogledavao je prema blizankama, Katarini Čagalj i Matei Beletić, ex. Zarač. - Njih dvije su živjele za ovaj trenutak - dodao je Tabak.

- Svaki put kad promislim na to koliko sam silno željela podići ta dva trofeja za svog pokojnog brata, poteku mi suze. Da, to je bila moja najveća želja prošle sezone, te moje sestre Matee, koja se vratila treninzima nakon te naše obiteljske tragedije

- I obje smo silno željele, sanjale, kako ćemo u tome uspjeti već 2020. godine. Dogodila se korona, sezona je prekinuta, te poništena. Mi smo dobile sve utakmice u prvenstvu i kupu, bile vodeće u prvenstvu, a završni turnir kupa se trebao igrati u našoj dvorani. objeđivale smo u prosjeku 30 koševa razlike. Ali, što nismo uspjeli tad, jesmo iduće sezone. I danas, kad smo nagrađene s jednom uistinu lijepom nagradom, a što je nagrada Slobodne za najuspješniju žensku ekipu Dalmacije, zastanemo, te vrtimo film te prošle sezone. Sretne, presretne, a držeći ovu nagradu Slobodne priželjkujemo da je zaslužimo i ove godine – poželjela je kapetanica Raguse Katarina Čagalj.
