Prošlo je punih 14 godina otkad je prvi Mercedes-Benz A-klase izazvao senzaciju na salonu u Ženevi. Dosad je proizvedeno više od tri milijuna primjeraka, što ga svrstava među najprodavanije modele najstarije i najslavnije tvornice automobila.

Premda je u svojim počecima pretrpio kritike po pitanju stabilnosti (posebice nakon afere s prevrtanjem na testu, koja se potom pokazala dijelom insceniranom), zauzeo je posebno mjesto među premium mališanima. Dugo je bio bez izravnih konkurenata, a 2001. je stigao Mini te 2004. BMW serije 1. Prva je serija izdržala sedam i pol godina, a toliko će na tržištu biti druga, predstavljena krajem 2004. Na salonu u Ženevi, u ožujku sljedeće godine, očekuje se potpuno novi model treće generacije.

Mercedesovi dizejneri i konstruktori odlučili su okrenuti pilu naopako. Prvo su se odrekli preskupe koncepcije s dvostrukom podnicom (sendvič-konstrukcija), a zatim su karoseriju skrojili futuristički, u stilu konceptnog modela F800, predstavljenog prije dvije godine. Tanja je podnica osigurala rekordnu prostranost među 4-metarskim automobilima, uz snižavanje karoserije sa 160 na 152 cm. Istodobno je koeficijent otpora zraka snižen na samo 0,27.

Širina je povećana sa 176,5 na 182 cm, pa će komfor u unutrašnjosti biti veći nego u sadašnjem modelu. Nova koncepcija karoserije jamči znatno bolja vozna svojstva, uz nižu potrošnju goriva te bi nova A-klasa trebala uvesti nova, viša mjerila u nižu klasu. Predviđene su dvije verzije karoserije - kraća i dinamičnija za osnovni model A-klase, koji će za razliku od prethodnika imati samo troja vrata.

Pola godine potom stići će i ‘napuhani’ model s petorim vratima, koji će zamijeniti aktualnu B-klasu. Velika je pozornost posvećena sigurnosti te su uklanjanjem središnjeg nosača krova temeljito ojačani podnica i krovna struktura. Kombinacijom visokočvrstog čelika, aluminija i kompozitnih materijala osigurat će se visoka sigurnost (to je jedan od prioriteta), uz masu koja će se zadržati na sadašnjoj razini (1,2 do 1,3 tone).

Unutrašnjost je također temeljito dorađena, ali tržišni model neće imati takve radikalne detalje poput konceptnog. Mercedesi su u pravilu suzdržani te će nova serija pružiti ugodniju i komforniju vožnju, uz bolje performanse i nižu potrošnju. Uz sve to, cijene će se zadržati na sadašnjoj razini te će kupci dobivati više za uložen novac. Ponuda će počinjati s oko 22.000 eura, a prvi se primjerci očekuju prije ljeta 2012.

Jednostruka podnica, bez B-nosača

Umjesto skupe ‘sendvič’ konstrukcije podnice, nova će A-klasa imati klasičnu jednoslojnu izvedbu, ali će zadržati revolucionarnost izvedbe konstrukcijom karoserije bez središnjeg nosača krova.

To će poboljšati funkcionalnost i olakšati ulazak na stražnja sjedala. Time će se omogućiti znatno lakši ulazak na stražnja sjedala, a položena krovna linija poboljšava aerodinamičnost i povećava čvrstoću noseće strukture.

Turbo i direktno ubrizgavanje

Po uzoru na novu seriju turbodizelskih motora OM 651, obujma 2143 ccm, predviđenu za uzdužnu i poprečnu ugradnju (stražnji i prednji pogon), sa 136, 170 i 204 KS (za A i B klasu će se koristiti 116, 136 i 170 KS), uvodi se i novi benzinac M270 obujma 1799 ccm, koji će se nuditi s paketom snage od 116, 156, 184 i 210 KS.

Svi će motori imati turbopunjač i direktno ubrizgavanje goriva. Pored ručnih mjenjača sa šest stupnjeva, nudit će se i automatski sa sedam.

Prošlo je punih 14 godina otkad je prvi Mercedes-Benz A-klase izazvao senzaciju na salonu u Ženevi. Dosad je proizvedeno više od tri milijuna primjeraka, što ga svrstava među najprodavanije modele najstarije i najslavnije tvornice automobila.

Premda je u svojim počecima pretrpio kritike po pitanju stabilnosti (posebice nakon afere s prevrtanjem na testu, koja se potom pokazala dijelom insceniranom), zauzeo je posebno mjesto među premium mališanima. Dugo je bio bez izravnih konkurenata, a 2001. je stigao Mini te 2004. BMW serije 1. Prva je serija izdržala sedam i pol godina, a toliko će na tržištu biti druga, predstavljena krajem 2004. Na salonu u Ženevi, u ožujku sljedeće godine, očekuje se potpuno novi model treće generacije.

Mercedesovi dizejneri i konstruktori odlučili su okrenuti pilu naopako. Prvo su se odrekli preskupe koncepcije s dvostrukom podnicom (sendvič-konstrukcija), a zatim su karoseriju skrojili futuristički, u stilu konceptnog modela F800, predstavljenog prije dvije godine. Tanja je podnica osigurala rekordnu prostranost među 4-metarskim automobilima, uz snižavanje karoserije sa 160 na 152 cm. Istodobno je koeficijent otpora zraka snižen na samo 0,27.

Širina je povećana sa 176,5 na 182 cm, pa će komfor u unutrašnjosti biti veći nego u sadašnjem modelu. Nova koncepcija karoserije jamči znatno bolja vozna svojstva, uz nižu potrošnju goriva te bi nova A-klasa trebala uvesti nova, viša mjerila u nižu klasu. Predviđene su dvije verzije karoserije - kraća i dinamičnija za osnovni model A-klase, koji će za razliku od prethodnika imati samo troja vrata.

Pola godine potom stići će i ‘napuhani’ model s petorim vratima, koji će zamijeniti aktualnu B-klasu. Velika je pozornost posvećena sigurnosti te su uklanjanjem središnjeg nosača krova temeljito ojačani podnica i krovna struktura. Kombinacijom visokočvrstog čelika, aluminija i kompozitnih materijala osigurat će se visoka sigurnost (to je jedan od prioriteta), uz masu koja će se zadržati na sadašnjoj razini (1,2 do 1,3 tone).

Unutrašnjost je također temeljito dorađena, ali tržišni model neće imati takve radikalne detalje poput konceptnog. Mercedesi su u pravilu suzdržani te će nova serija pružiti ugodniju i komforniju vožnju, uz bolje performanse i nižu potrošnju. Uz sve to, cijene će se zadržati na sadašnjoj razini te će kupci dobivati više za uložen novac. Ponuda će počinjati s oko 22.000 eura, a prvi se primjerci očekuju prije ljeta 2012.

Jednostruka podnica, bez B-nosača

Umjesto skupe ‘sendvič’ konstrukcije podnice, nova će A-klasa imati klasičnu jednoslojnu izvedbu, ali će zadržati revolucionarnost izvedbe konstrukcijom karoserije bez središnjeg nosača krova.

To će poboljšati funkcionalnost i olakšati ulazak na stražnja sjedala. Time će se omogućiti znatno lakši ulazak na stražnja sjedala, a položena krovna linija poboljšava aerodinamičnost i povećava čvrstoću noseće strukture.

Turbo i direktno ubrizgavanje

Po uzoru na novu seriju turbodizelskih motora OM 651, obujma 2143 ccm, predviđenu za uzdužnu i poprečnu ugradnju (stražnji i prednji pogon), sa 136, 170 i 204 KS (za A i B klasu će se koristiti 116, 136 i 170 KS), uvodi se i novi benzinac M270 obujma 1799 ccm, koji će se nuditi s paketom snage od 116, 156, 184 i 210 KS.

Svi će motori imati turbopunjač i direktno ubrizgavanje goriva. Pored ručnih mjenjača sa šest stupnjeva, nudit će se i automatski sa sedam.
