Jedan od najgorih elemenata socijalističke tradicije kažu da je bio život u strahu. Mogli su ti usred noći pokucati na vrata, zatražiti da se odjeneš i poneseš četkicu za zube na primjer. Tukli su te dok ne priznaš.

Mrak bi te ispljunuo za nekoliko godina, mršavijeg, ozbiljnijeg i proćelavog. Onako šutljiv tražio bi posao ispod svog renomea, bilo što. Živjelo se, kažu naši stari, u totalnom strahu. Demokraciju i borbu za nju gledasmo tada kao nadvladavanje tog straha, poput dana kad će ponovo zasjati sunce i odagnati dugogodišnje magle.

Dvadeset godina nakon rušenja najgoreg sistema pomalo počinjemo shvaćati one zapadnjake koji su, u vrijeme naših mrakova i progona, o kapitalizmu i delegiranoj demokraciji mislili sve najgore, nadajući se da će jednog dana truli socijalizam doći i kod njih.

Naročito se nostalgija budi u vremena dubokih kriza kad zbog lošeg državnog menadžmenta i onoga što se u političkom žargonu zove “međunarodna situacija” stvari odu k vragu. Kad su me pred petnaestak-dvadesetak godina ljudi “iz starog kraja” pitali koji je mehanizam održavanja reda i poretka u zemljama neoliberalne demokracije, bez ikakve zadrške ispalio bih riječ strah.

 “Kakav strah, za boga miloga? Pa imate sve. Dobru plaću, posao, lijepa auta, kuće, zelene površine”, pitao me u čudu jedan ugledni i poznati hrvatski političar ondašnje mlade demokracije koji je u Sydney među Hrvate došao ranih devedesetih žicati lovu za ono što smo svi skupa tada naivno zvali Naša stvar. Strah od recesije.

Strah od povećanja kamata. Od toga da ti sutra poslodavac da otkazni rok od tjedan dana s plaćom za još samo dva tjedna. Od toga da će ti banka nakon toga uzeti kuću, stan, televizor i auto. Strah od svakotjednih promjena, od toga da ti zbog stanja na međunarodnom tržištu novca propadne ušteđevina za penziju koju si izdvajao trideset godina, od toga da ćeš sa sedamdeset i tri godine biti bez sredstava za život.

Strah od kapitalizma, dakle od svega onog o čemu su kod nas maštale generacije potlačenih i proganjanih. Neki je dan naša premijerka najavila radikalizaciju tog straha u prosječnoj hrvatskoj obitelji. “Svakih desetak dana uvest ćemo neku novu mjeru”, rekla je zadovoljna gospodarica hrvatske ekonomije i socijale.

Na primjer, ukinut će regres, lovu za putovanje na posao i božićnicu. A vratiti nam porez na luksuz. Dati nam osamsto i uzeti jedno četiri i pol tisuće kuna godišnje. Što bi mogla biti jedna mjesečna rata za otplatu stana. Na veselje i zadovoljstvo mladih obitelji.

A najgore je što ne znaš što će te zdrmati, koja mjera za oporavak gospodarstva i bolju budućnost. Zato sretno živimo na repu i u karikaturi najboljeg od svih sistema. Onog u kojem se (isto) živi u strahu. Za posao, budućnost i vlastiti krov nad glavom. Dobro došli u sretnu obitelj slobodnih naroda i sistem blagostanja!

Jedan od najgorih elemenata socijalističke tradicije kažu da je bio život u strahu. Mogli su ti usred noći pokucati na vrata, zatražiti da se odjeneš i poneseš četkicu za zube na primjer. Tukli su te dok ne priznaš.

Mrak bi te ispljunuo za nekoliko godina, mršavijeg, ozbiljnijeg i proćelavog. Onako šutljiv tražio bi posao ispod svog renomea, bilo što. Živjelo se, kažu naši stari, u totalnom strahu. Demokraciju i borbu za nju gledasmo tada kao nadvladavanje tog straha, poput dana kad će ponovo zasjati sunce i odagnati dugogodišnje magle.

Dvadeset godina nakon rušenja najgoreg sistema pomalo počinjemo shvaćati one zapadnjake koji su, u vrijeme naših mrakova i progona, o kapitalizmu i delegiranoj demokraciji mislili sve najgore, nadajući se da će jednog dana truli socijalizam doći i kod njih.

Naročito se nostalgija budi u vremena dubokih kriza kad zbog lošeg državnog menadžmenta i onoga što se u političkom žargonu zove “međunarodna situacija” stvari odu k vragu. Kad su me pred petnaestak-dvadesetak godina ljudi “iz starog kraja” pitali koji je mehanizam održavanja reda i poretka u zemljama neoliberalne demokracije, bez ikakve zadrške ispalio bih riječ strah.

 “Kakav strah, za boga miloga? Pa imate sve. Dobru plaću, posao, lijepa auta, kuće, zelene površine”, pitao me u čudu jedan ugledni i poznati hrvatski političar ondašnje mlade demokracije koji je u Sydney među Hrvate došao ranih devedesetih žicati lovu za ono što smo svi skupa tada naivno zvali Naša stvar. Strah od recesije.

Strah od povećanja kamata. Od toga da ti sutra poslodavac da otkazni rok od tjedan dana s plaćom za još samo dva tjedna. Od toga da će ti banka nakon toga uzeti kuću, stan, televizor i auto. Strah od svakotjednih promjena, od toga da ti zbog stanja na međunarodnom tržištu novca propadne ušteđevina za penziju koju si izdvajao trideset godina, od toga da ćeš sa sedamdeset i tri godine biti bez sredstava za život.

Strah od kapitalizma, dakle od svega onog o čemu su kod nas maštale generacije potlačenih i proganjanih. Neki je dan naša premijerka najavila radikalizaciju tog straha u prosječnoj hrvatskoj obitelji. “Svakih desetak dana uvest ćemo neku novu mjeru”, rekla je zadovoljna gospodarica hrvatske ekonomije i socijale.

Na primjer, ukinut će regres, lovu za putovanje na posao i božićnicu. A vratiti nam porez na luksuz. Dati nam osamsto i uzeti jedno četiri i pol tisuće kuna godišnje. Što bi mogla biti jedna mjesečna rata za otplatu stana. Na veselje i zadovoljstvo mladih obitelji.

A najgore je što ne znaš što će te zdrmati, koja mjera za oporavak gospodarstva i bolju budućnost. Zato sretno živimo na repu i u karikaturi najboljeg od svih sistema. Onog u kojem se (isto) živi u strahu. Za posao, budućnost i vlastiti krov nad glavom. Dobro došli u sretnu obitelj slobodnih naroda i sistem blagostanja!
