Zvijezda prvog Britain's Got Talenta,
Paul Potts, dolazi u Split 6.6.2010., održati drugi nastup u Hrvatskoj, dva dana nakon nastupa na zagrebačkoj Šalati.
Paul Robert Potts je engleski pop-operni tenor koji je pobijedio u prvom natjecanju TV serijala Britain's Got Talent u 2007.
Potts je radio kao prodavač mobitela u Carphone Warehouseu, te je nastupao u amaterskim opernim priredbama od 1999. do 2003, a svoju ljubav prema pjevanju razvio je u školi je St. Mary Redcliffe koju je pohađao.
Također je pjevao u zboru u Chester Park školi i u nekoliko zborova u Bristolskim crkvama.
Potts je intervjuima ispričao kako je bio zlostavljan u školi, zbog čega je uvijek patio zbog manjka samopouzdanja, a njegov glas bio mu je jedini izvor utjehe.
Prvi put je pjevao operu 1999. u karaoke natjecanju, obučen kao
Luciano Pavarotti, a iste godine, pojavio se u glazbenom kvizu My Kind of Music. Iako nije pobijedio, osvojio je 8,000 funti - dovoljno da plati sate pjevanja u Italiji, tijekom kojih je bio izabran za nastup pred Pavarottijem i
Katie Ricciarelli.
Svoju karijeru je započeo manjim ulogama u predstavama poput Prince of Persia i Turandot, u amaterskom društvu Bath Opera.
Nakon toga nastupa u vodećim ulogama u četiri navrata: kao Don Basilio u
Mozartovom Figaru, 2000.; kao Don Carlos u istoimenoj Verdijevoj
operi, 2001.; kao Don Ottavio u Mozartovom Don Giovanniu, 2003.; i
kao Radames u Verdijevoj Aidi, 2003.
Također je nastupao kao Chevalier des Grieux u
Puccinijevoj operi Manon Lescaut, za amatersko društvo Southgate Opera Company u Londonu.
Osim toga, pjevao je s malim ansamblom iz Kraljevske filharmonije pred publikom od 15.000 ljudi i išao na turneju po sjevernoj Italiji kao solist.
U nekoliko intervjua otkrio je da je nastupio u Aidi unatoč zabrani liječnika jer je trebao ukloniti tumor nadbubrežne žlijezde, koji su otkrili tijekom rutinske operacije slijepog crijeva. U biciklističkoj nesreći slomio je ključnu kost što ga je spriječilo u daljnjem razvoju karijere.
Nesreća i financijski problemi koji su uslijedili doveli su ga do nastupa u Britain's Got Talent, unatoč činjenici da nije pjevao godinama.
U srpnju 2007., Potts je izveo svoju verziju "Nessun dorma“ na koncertu
Katherine Jenkins u Margam Parku.
16. srpnja 2007., njegov debitantski album One Chance izdan je u Velikoj Britaniji, i zauzeo prvo mjesto na UK Album Chartu već prvog tjedna. a u prosincu iste godine premijer
Gordon Brown predao mu je platinasti disk, jer je prodao 2.000.000 primjeraka svog albuma.

Potts je bio gost Oprah Winfrey Showa čija je tema bila YouTube, jer su
isječci njegovih nastupa pogledani preko milijun puta, a od travnja
2009., nakon što se prvi put pojavio na Britain's Got Talent je bio
četvrti najgledaniji YouTube video u Velikoj Britaniji.

Zvijezda prvog Britain's Got Talenta,
Paul Potts, dolazi u Split 6.6.2010., održati drugi nastup u Hrvatskoj, dva dana nakon nastupa na zagrebačkoj Šalati.
Paul Robert Potts je engleski pop-operni tenor koji je pobijedio u prvom natjecanju TV serijala Britain's Got Talent u 2007.
Potts je radio kao prodavač mobitela u Carphone Warehouseu, te je nastupao u amaterskim opernim priredbama od 1999. do 2003, a svoju ljubav prema pjevanju razvio je u školi je St. Mary Redcliffe koju je pohađao.
Također je pjevao u zboru u Chester Park školi i u nekoliko zborova u Bristolskim crkvama.
Potts je intervjuima ispričao kako je bio zlostavljan u školi, zbog čega je uvijek patio zbog manjka samopouzdanja, a njegov glas bio mu je jedini izvor utjehe.
Prvi put je pjevao operu 1999. u karaoke natjecanju, obučen kao
Luciano Pavarotti, a iste godine, pojavio se u glazbenom kvizu My Kind of Music. Iako nije pobijedio, osvojio je 8,000 funti - dovoljno da plati sate pjevanja u Italiji, tijekom kojih je bio izabran za nastup pred Pavarottijem i
Katie Ricciarelli.
Svoju karijeru je započeo manjim ulogama u predstavama poput Prince of Persia i Turandot, u amaterskom društvu Bath Opera.
Nakon toga nastupa u vodećim ulogama u četiri navrata: kao Don Basilio u
Mozartovom Figaru, 2000.; kao Don Carlos u istoimenoj Verdijevoj
operi, 2001.; kao Don Ottavio u Mozartovom Don Giovanniu, 2003.; i
kao Radames u Verdijevoj Aidi, 2003.
Također je nastupao kao Chevalier des Grieux u
Puccinijevoj operi Manon Lescaut, za amatersko društvo Southgate Opera Company u Londonu.
Osim toga, pjevao je s malim ansamblom iz Kraljevske filharmonije pred publikom od 15.000 ljudi i išao na turneju po sjevernoj Italiji kao solist.
U nekoliko intervjua otkrio je da je nastupio u Aidi unatoč zabrani liječnika jer je trebao ukloniti tumor nadbubrežne žlijezde, koji su otkrili tijekom rutinske operacije slijepog crijeva. U biciklističkoj nesreći slomio je ključnu kost što ga je spriječilo u daljnjem razvoju karijere.
Nesreća i financijski problemi koji su uslijedili doveli su ga do nastupa u Britain's Got Talent, unatoč činjenici da nije pjevao godinama.
U srpnju 2007., Potts je izveo svoju verziju "Nessun dorma“ na koncertu
Katherine Jenkins u Margam Parku.
16. srpnja 2007., njegov debitantski album One Chance izdan je u Velikoj Britaniji, i zauzeo prvo mjesto na UK Album Chartu već prvog tjedna. a u prosincu iste godine premijer
Gordon Brown predao mu je platinasti disk, jer je prodao 2.000.000 primjeraka svog albuma.

Potts je bio gost Oprah Winfrey Showa čija je tema bila YouTube, jer su
isječci njegovih nastupa pogledani preko milijun puta, a od travnja
2009., nakon što se prvi put pojavio na Britain's Got Talent je bio
četvrti najgledaniji YouTube video u Velikoj Britaniji.
