Najtraženiji domaći reper Edo Maajka nakon godinu i pol dana od izlaska albuma "Stigo ćumur" izdaje novi album znakovita naslova "Balkansko, a naše".
Edo već godinu dana u partnerstvu s prijateljem vodi na zagrebačkoj Trešnjevci kafić No sikiriki koji je postao stalnim okupljalištem ljubitelja dobre rock i hip –hop mjuze, a po naletu kreativnosti koja ga drma posljednje vrijeme lako je zaključiti da je konačno prebrodio stres razvoda od bivše supruge Lane.
Oni koji ga dobro poznaju reći će da se ponovno zaljubio, a o tome svjedoče i njegova sve češća putovanja u Izrael o čemu još uvijek ne želi govoriti za medije.
Blagoglagoljiv je ipak kad je riječ o novom albumu koji izlazi ovih dana.
- U ponedjeljak bi album trebao biti vani, a kao singl trenutno je vani stvar 'Gunsi’, posveta mom tinejdžerluku, odrastanju u 90-ima i zagrebačkom klubu 'Jabuka’” - priča Maajka.
Hoće li se na albumu načeti neke nove teme?
- Ima dosta novih tema, novo je vrijeme, nova produkcija, najviše mi drago što sam uspio opet donijeti nešto novo i pomaknuti neke svoje standarde. Cijeli album je fanki, plesan, tu su 'old school’ ritmovi s Kooladeovim sintovima, meni se jako sviđa. Mislim da je ovaj album muzički, tekstualno i stilski daleko ispred svih ovih do sada. Napravio sam pauzu jedino s nastupima jer sam uzeo malo vremena da to sve sjedne kako treba.
Najavi nam je malo projekt s 'Tronkopom’ u kojem surađuješ s Damirom Avdićem, jednim od najzanimljivijih bosanskih rock glazbenika i pisaca i osnivačem tuzlanske punk grupe 'Rupa u zidu’. Za tebe to je svojvrsni povratak korijenima sa punkom, HC-om i rapom?
- Evo, baš sad idem u Tuzlu da s Avićem i ostatkom benda probamo uhodati stvari. To je super ekipa i jako sam zagrijan za projekt. Damir je upravo izdao album 'Mrtvi su Mrtvi’, pa se sad obojica možemo fokusirati na ovo.
Zašto se u vremenu kada većina domaćih hip-hopera inzistira na organskom, bendovskom zvuku, ti povlačiš isključivo na nastupe s DJ-em i podlogama?
- Zato što sound sistem varijanta ima veću dinamiku, umiksavanjem uspijem izvesti više stvari i volim čuti taj elektronički klik u klubu. Istina je i da sam ovisan o svirci s bendom, ali sad je tu 'Trnokop’. Nakon dugo vremena zadovoljio sam skoro sve svoje interese u glazbi.

Najtraženiji domaći reper Edo Maajka nakon godinu i pol dana od izlaska albuma "Stigo ćumur" izdaje novi album znakovita naslova "Balkansko, a naše".
Edo već godinu dana u partnerstvu s prijateljem vodi na zagrebačkoj Trešnjevci kafić No sikiriki koji je postao stalnim okupljalištem ljubitelja dobre rock i hip –hop mjuze, a po naletu kreativnosti koja ga drma posljednje vrijeme lako je zaključiti da je konačno prebrodio stres razvoda od bivše supruge Lane.
Oni koji ga dobro poznaju reći će da se ponovno zaljubio, a o tome svjedoče i njegova sve češća putovanja u Izrael o čemu još uvijek ne želi govoriti za medije.
Blagoglagoljiv je ipak kad je riječ o novom albumu koji izlazi ovih dana.
- U ponedjeljak bi album trebao biti vani, a kao singl trenutno je vani stvar 'Gunsi’, posveta mom tinejdžerluku, odrastanju u 90-ima i zagrebačkom klubu 'Jabuka’” - priča Maajka.
Hoće li se na albumu načeti neke nove teme?
- Ima dosta novih tema, novo je vrijeme, nova produkcija, najviše mi drago što sam uspio opet donijeti nešto novo i pomaknuti neke svoje standarde. Cijeli album je fanki, plesan, tu su 'old school’ ritmovi s Kooladeovim sintovima, meni se jako sviđa. Mislim da je ovaj album muzički, tekstualno i stilski daleko ispred svih ovih do sada. Napravio sam pauzu jedino s nastupima jer sam uzeo malo vremena da to sve sjedne kako treba.
Najavi nam je malo projekt s 'Tronkopom’ u kojem surađuješ s Damirom Avdićem, jednim od najzanimljivijih bosanskih rock glazbenika i pisaca i osnivačem tuzlanske punk grupe 'Rupa u zidu’. Za tebe to je svojvrsni povratak korijenima sa punkom, HC-om i rapom?
- Evo, baš sad idem u Tuzlu da s Avićem i ostatkom benda probamo uhodati stvari. To je super ekipa i jako sam zagrijan za projekt. Damir je upravo izdao album 'Mrtvi su Mrtvi’, pa se sad obojica možemo fokusirati na ovo.
Zašto se u vremenu kada većina domaćih hip-hopera inzistira na organskom, bendovskom zvuku, ti povlačiš isključivo na nastupe s DJ-em i podlogama?
- Zato što sound sistem varijanta ima veću dinamiku, umiksavanjem uspijem izvesti više stvari i volim čuti taj elektronički klik u klubu. Istina je i da sam ovisan o svirci s bendom, ali sad je tu 'Trnokop’. Nakon dugo vremena zadovoljio sam skoro sve svoje interese u glazbi.
