Zadar će i ove godine, 3. svibnja, biti grad domaćin, jedan od 35 startnih gradova globalne svjetske humanitarne atletske utrke “Wings for Life World Run”.
Do sada se na hrvatsku utrku prijavilo više od 1500 natjecatelja, a u ovo doba prošle godine broj prijavljenih na prvu utrku bio je oko 300, pa je velika vjerojatnost da će broj natjecatelja na ovogodišnjoj utrci značajno premašiti lanjsku brojku od oko 2000 trkača.
Lovi ih presretač
Zadar je posjetio jedan od glavnih organizatora utrke
Colin Jackson, višestruki svjetski i europski rekorder u utrkama na 110 m s preponama, te atletičar godine 1993. U Zadar je stigao u okviru prave svjetske turneje u kojoj će obići svih 18 zemalja u kojima će utrke biti organizirane, te svih 35 gradova domaćina.
Na konferenciji za novinare u sv. Donatu Jackson je objasnio kako se na taj način želi upoznati sa svim lokacijama i ljudima koji sudjeluju u organizaciji utrke kako bi lakše pratio direktne TV prijenose.

Uz Jacksona na “presici” su bili i gradonačelnik Zadra Božidar Kalmeta, koji je i sam lani sudjelovao u utrci, a najavio je da će i ove, zatim Božidar Budiša, zapovjednik zadarske Prometne policije, koja uz 500 volontera nosi lavovski dio organizacije i osiguranja utrke, Dejan Patrčević, poznati atletičar maratonac, koji je govorio o izuzetnoj motiviranosti trkača u utrci koja nosi snažnu humanitarnu poruku, te Ivan Veštić, predsjednik Hrvatskog atletskog saveza, jednog od glavnih suorganizatora utrke.
Utrka će ove godine u Zadru startati u idealno vrijeme, u 13 sati. Nije nevažno jer će na mnogim drugim lokacijama, zbog vremenskih razlika, a svih 35 utrka (koje su zapravo jedna) starta istodobno, u to vrijeme biti rano jutro ili čak duboka noć.
Utrka ove godine kreće s Foruma, nastavlja se preko Foše, rotora kod Bolnice, preko Ulice Ante Starčevića prema izlazu iz grada ka Bibinjama, Biogradu i Šibeniku. Cilja u ovoj jedinstvenoj utrci nema, cilj ide za trkačima, to je presretačko vozilo koje starta pola sata kasnije od trkača, te kad ih dostigne isključuje iz utrke.
Kotizacija za hrvatsku utrku je 99 kn, a sav prihod namijenjen je globalnoj fondaciji koja financira istraživanja lijeka protiv bolesti leđne moždine. Zato moto utrke “Wings for Life” i jest “Trčimo za one koji to ne mogu”.

Zadar će i ove godine, 3. svibnja, biti grad domaćin, jedan od 35 startnih gradova globalne svjetske humanitarne atletske utrke “Wings for Life World Run”.
Do sada se na hrvatsku utrku prijavilo više od 1500 natjecatelja, a u ovo doba prošle godine broj prijavljenih na prvu utrku bio je oko 300, pa je velika vjerojatnost da će broj natjecatelja na ovogodišnjoj utrci značajno premašiti lanjsku brojku od oko 2000 trkača.
Lovi ih presretač
Zadar je posjetio jedan od glavnih organizatora utrke
Colin Jackson, višestruki svjetski i europski rekorder u utrkama na 110 m s preponama, te atletičar godine 1993. U Zadar je stigao u okviru prave svjetske turneje u kojoj će obići svih 18 zemalja u kojima će utrke biti organizirane, te svih 35 gradova domaćina.
Na konferenciji za novinare u sv. Donatu Jackson je objasnio kako se na taj način želi upoznati sa svim lokacijama i ljudima koji sudjeluju u organizaciji utrke kako bi lakše pratio direktne TV prijenose.

Uz Jacksona na “presici” su bili i gradonačelnik Zadra Božidar Kalmeta, koji je i sam lani sudjelovao u utrci, a najavio je da će i ove, zatim Božidar Budiša, zapovjednik zadarske Prometne policije, koja uz 500 volontera nosi lavovski dio organizacije i osiguranja utrke, Dejan Patrčević, poznati atletičar maratonac, koji je govorio o izuzetnoj motiviranosti trkača u utrci koja nosi snažnu humanitarnu poruku, te Ivan Veštić, predsjednik Hrvatskog atletskog saveza, jednog od glavnih suorganizatora utrke.
Utrka će ove godine u Zadru startati u idealno vrijeme, u 13 sati. Nije nevažno jer će na mnogim drugim lokacijama, zbog vremenskih razlika, a svih 35 utrka (koje su zapravo jedna) starta istodobno, u to vrijeme biti rano jutro ili čak duboka noć.
Utrka ove godine kreće s Foruma, nastavlja se preko Foše, rotora kod Bolnice, preko Ulice Ante Starčevića prema izlazu iz grada ka Bibinjama, Biogradu i Šibeniku. Cilja u ovoj jedinstvenoj utrci nema, cilj ide za trkačima, to je presretačko vozilo koje starta pola sata kasnije od trkača, te kad ih dostigne isključuje iz utrke.
Kotizacija za hrvatsku utrku je 99 kn, a sav prihod namijenjen je globalnoj fondaciji koja financira istraživanja lijeka protiv bolesti leđne moždine. Zato moto utrke “Wings for Life” i jest “Trčimo za one koji to ne mogu”.
