Da je danas živ, legendarni Bruce Lee imao bi ravno 70 godina, točno koliko i njegov oponent iz filma “Na zmajevu putu”, Chuck Norris. Gdje bi Bruce Lee danas bio u svijetu filma da je uspio blokirati fatalni udarac smrti u raskošnom usporenom pokretu?
Bruce je umro 1973., u dobi od 32 godine. Bio je na vrhuncu slave. Nakon vrha, jedini je put prema dolje, kažu. Pa opet, Leejeva bi zvijezda vjerojatno sjajila još barem u osamdesetima, jer upravo su njegovi filmovi (“U zmajevu gnijezdu” prije svih) popularizirali borilački žanr, odlično gledan u tom desetljeću. Krajem devedesetih, u razdoblju velikog “revivala” kung fu filmova, lako bi ga bilo vidjeti u nekoj sporednoj ulozi, tipa u “Tigru i zmaju”.
Da je poživio, ne bi mu ginula ni uloga “senseija” (Gordon Liu) osvetnice Ume Thurman u kultnom Tarantinovu “Kill Billu”. Odradio bi je Bruce Lee s guštom, a Tarantinova kamera ljubila bi ga u krupnom planu. Uza šačicu munjevitih “kung fu” zumova usmjerenih prema njegovom ubojitom pogledu, naravno. Napokon, Thurmanicu je Tarantino obukao u trenirku žute boje kakvu je Bruce Lee nosio u “Posljednjoj igri smrti”, odavši mu veoma lijep “hommage”. Kako na svijetu nema puno filmofila poput Tarantina, pitanje je što je Bruce Lee danas, odnosno koliko znači mlađim generacijama koje ga nisu gledale na matinejama kina “Tesla” i poslije projekcije neuspješno oponašali ubojite pokrete majstora.
Sudeći po nazočnosti njegova lika na majicama, Bruce je postao kung fu inačica Che Guevare, simbola revolucije. Vodio je Bruce Lee kinesku revoluciju protiv okupatorskog Japana. Sjetimo se scene iz “Šake bijesa”, kad je nogom razbio znak “Zabranjen ulaz psima i Kinezima” pred japanskim “dojom”. No, na stranu i politika. Izuzmemo li bondovskog negativca Hana (Shih Kien), s kojim je omjerio snage u perfektno orkestriranim “slow-motionima” na kraju “U zmajevom gnijezdu”, Bruce Lee je mahom vojevao borbu protiv “običnih” protuha u razdoblju kad je svijet bio podijeljen na dobre i loše momke.
“U zmajevu gnijezdu” i ostali filmovi danas će retrospektivno biti prikazani u Hong Kong kako bi se obilježio rođendan akcijskog idola, dok se velike proslave organiziraju u San Franciscu, njegovom rodnom gradu. Tri hrvatske televizije zaboravile su na celuloidnu čestitku kralju kung fua. Večeras je na programu zato “The One” s Jetom Lijem. Jedan jedini, Jet Li? Teško. “The One” je samo Bruce Lee.

Da je danas živ, legendarni Bruce Lee imao bi ravno 70 godina, točno koliko i njegov oponent iz filma “Na zmajevu putu”, Chuck Norris. Gdje bi Bruce Lee danas bio u svijetu filma da je uspio blokirati fatalni udarac smrti u raskošnom usporenom pokretu?
Bruce je umro 1973., u dobi od 32 godine. Bio je na vrhuncu slave. Nakon vrha, jedini je put prema dolje, kažu. Pa opet, Leejeva bi zvijezda vjerojatno sjajila još barem u osamdesetima, jer upravo su njegovi filmovi (“U zmajevu gnijezdu” prije svih) popularizirali borilački žanr, odlično gledan u tom desetljeću. Krajem devedesetih, u razdoblju velikog “revivala” kung fu filmova, lako bi ga bilo vidjeti u nekoj sporednoj ulozi, tipa u “Tigru i zmaju”.
Da je poživio, ne bi mu ginula ni uloga “senseija” (Gordon Liu) osvetnice Ume Thurman u kultnom Tarantinovu “Kill Billu”. Odradio bi je Bruce Lee s guštom, a Tarantinova kamera ljubila bi ga u krupnom planu. Uza šačicu munjevitih “kung fu” zumova usmjerenih prema njegovom ubojitom pogledu, naravno. Napokon, Thurmanicu je Tarantino obukao u trenirku žute boje kakvu je Bruce Lee nosio u “Posljednjoj igri smrti”, odavši mu veoma lijep “hommage”. Kako na svijetu nema puno filmofila poput Tarantina, pitanje je što je Bruce Lee danas, odnosno koliko znači mlađim generacijama koje ga nisu gledale na matinejama kina “Tesla” i poslije projekcije neuspješno oponašali ubojite pokrete majstora.
Sudeći po nazočnosti njegova lika na majicama, Bruce je postao kung fu inačica Che Guevare, simbola revolucije. Vodio je Bruce Lee kinesku revoluciju protiv okupatorskog Japana. Sjetimo se scene iz “Šake bijesa”, kad je nogom razbio znak “Zabranjen ulaz psima i Kinezima” pred japanskim “dojom”. No, na stranu i politika. Izuzmemo li bondovskog negativca Hana (Shih Kien), s kojim je omjerio snage u perfektno orkestriranim “slow-motionima” na kraju “U zmajevom gnijezdu”, Bruce Lee je mahom vojevao borbu protiv “običnih” protuha u razdoblju kad je svijet bio podijeljen na dobre i loše momke.
“U zmajevu gnijezdu” i ostali filmovi danas će retrospektivno biti prikazani u Hong Kong kako bi se obilježio rođendan akcijskog idola, dok se velike proslave organiziraju u San Franciscu, njegovom rodnom gradu. Tri hrvatske televizije zaboravile su na celuloidnu čestitku kralju kung fua. Večeras je na programu zato “The One” s Jetom Lijem. Jedan jedini, Jet Li? Teško. “The One” je samo Bruce Lee.
