Ključni trenutak u automobilskoj povijesti dogodio se prije 50 godina kad je Mazda predstavila model Cosmo Sport pogonjen rotacijskim motorom.
Skladan i elegantan dvosjed označio je početak tradicije inovativnosti koja traje sve do danas – tradicije automobila zabavnih u vožnji i uspjeha u automobilističkom sportu uz jedinstvenu tehniku.
Davne 1967. Cosmo Sport bio je prvi automobil na svijetu pokretan motorom s dva rotora. Izvan Japana poznat kao 110S, ovo je bio prvi Mazdin sportski automobil, stvorivši DNK koji je nastavio živjeti u legendarnim modelima poput RX-7 i MX-5, a zapravo i u svim modelima koje japanska marka danas proizvodi.
Premda je proizvedeno samo 1176 primjeraka, Cosmo Sport ima za Mazdu monumentalno značenje jer je označio transformaciju od tvrtke koja je proizvodila pretežno komercijalna vozila i male automobile u uzbudljiv i jedinstven brend koji karakterizira pristup stalnog izazivanja konvencionalnog, bilo da je riječ o tehnici, bilo u pogledu dizajna.
Razvoj pogonskog agregata ispod prednjeg poklopca Cosma Sport najbolji je primjer Mazdina izazivačkog duha te tradicionalne upornosti i predanosti koja je prisutna i nakon 50 godina. Mazdini su inženjeri svladali brojne prepreke kako bi komercijalizirali rotacijski motor, testirajući prototipove Cosma Sport stotine tisuća kilometara prije početka prodaje.
Premda su deseci kompanija, uključujući većinu vodećih proizvođača automobila, preuzeli licencna prava od NSU-a kako bi razvijali novu tehnologiju njemačkog proizvođača automobila i motocikala, samo je jedna bila uspješna.
Koristeći potencijal rotacijskog motora, koji je pružao performanse usporedive s mnogo većim i težim klipnim motorima, Mazda je od tada proizvela gotovo dva milijuna vozila pogonjenih rotacijskim motorima, postigavši pritom i značajne sportske uspjehe.

Ključni trenutak u automobilskoj povijesti dogodio se prije 50 godina kad je Mazda predstavila model Cosmo Sport pogonjen rotacijskim motorom.
Skladan i elegantan dvosjed označio je početak tradicije inovativnosti koja traje sve do danas – tradicije automobila zabavnih u vožnji i uspjeha u automobilističkom sportu uz jedinstvenu tehniku.
Davne 1967. Cosmo Sport bio je prvi automobil na svijetu pokretan motorom s dva rotora. Izvan Japana poznat kao 110S, ovo je bio prvi Mazdin sportski automobil, stvorivši DNK koji je nastavio živjeti u legendarnim modelima poput RX-7 i MX-5, a zapravo i u svim modelima koje japanska marka danas proizvodi.
Premda je proizvedeno samo 1176 primjeraka, Cosmo Sport ima za Mazdu monumentalno značenje jer je označio transformaciju od tvrtke koja je proizvodila pretežno komercijalna vozila i male automobile u uzbudljiv i jedinstven brend koji karakterizira pristup stalnog izazivanja konvencionalnog, bilo da je riječ o tehnici, bilo u pogledu dizajna.
Razvoj pogonskog agregata ispod prednjeg poklopca Cosma Sport najbolji je primjer Mazdina izazivačkog duha te tradicionalne upornosti i predanosti koja je prisutna i nakon 50 godina. Mazdini su inženjeri svladali brojne prepreke kako bi komercijalizirali rotacijski motor, testirajući prototipove Cosma Sport stotine tisuća kilometara prije početka prodaje.
Premda su deseci kompanija, uključujući većinu vodećih proizvođača automobila, preuzeli licencna prava od NSU-a kako bi razvijali novu tehnologiju njemačkog proizvođača automobila i motocikala, samo je jedna bila uspješna.
Koristeći potencijal rotacijskog motora, koji je pružao performanse usporedive s mnogo većim i težim klipnim motorima, Mazda je od tada proizvela gotovo dva milijuna vozila pogonjenih rotacijskim motorima, postigavši pritom i značajne sportske uspjehe.
