Zakašnjeli razvoj govora kod djece može biti rezultat niza čimbenika, genetskih i okolišnih. Dugo poznatim negativnim čimbenicima posljednjih se godina pridružuje novi problem: pretjerano izlaganje raznim ekranima. Posebno su problematični zasloni uređaja poput pametnih telefona i tableta, odnosno uređaja koje obično držimo u rukama. Negativan utjecaj takvih ekrana potvrdila je i studija koja je predstavljena na godišnjoj konferenciji Međunarodnog udruženja pedijatara.

Jedan od najvažnijih nalaza istraživanja bio je nalaz korelacije između vremena koje djeca mlađa od dvije godine provode igrajući se s pametnim telefonom ili tabletom i vjerojatnosti usporenog razvoja govora. Djeca koja se često igraju s takvim uređajima obično počnu govoriti kasnije od svojih vršnjaka. Studija je obuhvatila podatke o 894 djece u dobi od šest mjeseci do dvije godine. Podaci su prikupljeni u sklopu ankete koja je provedena od 2011. do 2015. godine.

Na pregledu koji je obavljen u dobi od 18 mjeseci djece roditelji su, među ostalim, izvijestili koliko vremena dnevno njihova djeca provode pred pametnim telefonima i tabletima. Prosječno vrijeme izlaganja bilo je 28 minuta.

Ekspresivni poremećaj

Istraživači su zatim upotrijebili metodu za prepoznavanje kašnjenja u govoru kod djece. Usporedbom prikupljenih podataka otkrivena je spomenuta korelacija između vremena provedenog u korištenju elektroničkih uređaja i vjerojatnosti usporenog razvoja govora. Svakih dodatnih 30 minuta donijelo je čak 49 % povećanje rizika od tzv. ekspresivnog poremećaja. Čak i ako je razumijevanje (tzv. receptivna strana) bilo u skladu s očekivanjima za njihovu dob, djeca koja su bila iznadprosječno izložena različitim ekranima često su imala dosta problema s izražavanjem.

Pasivno prihvaćanje umjesto aktivnog sudjelovanja

Na prvi pogled čini se da elektronički uređaji mogu pomoći razvoju dječjeg govora. Na primjer, ako djeca često gledaju različite video sadržaje, ona su u kontaktu sa živim jezikom. Naravno, problem, koji je potvrdila i opisana studija, vezan je uz činjenicu da se radi o jednosmjernoj "komunikaciji".

Djeca tako razvijaju receptivnu sposobnost, ali s druge strane nemaju priliku za punokrvni razvoj izražajne sposobnosti. Oni stoga sudjeluju u komunikaciji kao pasivni primatelji, ali ne i kao aktivni sukreatori. Naravno, često izlaganje ekranima može donijeti i dodatne probleme, poput nemira ili razdražljivosti, što je povezano s nedostatkom tjelesne aktivnosti. Elektronički uređaji mogu nakratko omesti djetetu pažnju, no dugoročni učinci česte uporabe uglavnom su negativni.

Upotreba elektroničkih uređaja mora biti vrlo promišljena

Sve to ne znači da je uporaba elektroničkih uređaja od strane male djece potpuno zabranjena. Ipak, svakako treba obratiti pozornost na to kako i kada se takvi uređaji koriste. Ako vrlo mala djeca imaju pristup pametnom telefonu ili tabletu praktički svaki dan, te su više-manje prepuštena sama sebi tijekom korištenja, to naravno može biti vrlo problematično, pogotovo ako je vrijeme korištenja praktički neograničeno.

Važno je da korištenje elektroničkih uređaja bude planirano i da se odvija pod kontrolom, pri čemu maksimalno vrijeme dnevnog korištenja treba prilagoditi preporukama za pojedine dobne skupine. Pritom treba pripaziti da dijete ne bude samo pasivni promatrač. Stoga, dok gledate video, možete mu, primjerice, postavljati pitanja vezana uz ono što se događa na ekranu. To će ojačati njegovu izražajnu jezičnu sposobnost. Dakle, nema potrebe potpuno demonizirati ekrane, ali je oprez svakako neophodan.

Zakašnjeli razvoj govora kod djece može biti rezultat niza čimbenika, genetskih i okolišnih. Dugo poznatim negativnim čimbenicima posljednjih se godina pridružuje novi problem: pretjerano izlaganje raznim ekranima. Posebno su problematični zasloni uređaja poput pametnih telefona i tableta, odnosno uređaja koje obično držimo u rukama. Negativan utjecaj takvih ekrana potvrdila je i studija koja je predstavljena na godišnjoj konferenciji Međunarodnog udruženja pedijatara.

Jedan od najvažnijih nalaza istraživanja bio je nalaz korelacije između vremena koje djeca mlađa od dvije godine provode igrajući se s pametnim telefonom ili tabletom i vjerojatnosti usporenog razvoja govora. Djeca koja se često igraju s takvim uređajima obično počnu govoriti kasnije od svojih vršnjaka. Studija je obuhvatila podatke o 894 djece u dobi od šest mjeseci do dvije godine. Podaci su prikupljeni u sklopu ankete koja je provedena od 2011. do 2015. godine.

Na pregledu koji je obavljen u dobi od 18 mjeseci djece roditelji su, među ostalim, izvijestili koliko vremena dnevno njihova djeca provode pred pametnim telefonima i tabletima. Prosječno vrijeme izlaganja bilo je 28 minuta.

Ekspresivni poremećaj

Istraživači su zatim upotrijebili metodu za prepoznavanje kašnjenja u govoru kod djece. Usporedbom prikupljenih podataka otkrivena je spomenuta korelacija između vremena provedenog u korištenju elektroničkih uređaja i vjerojatnosti usporenog razvoja govora. Svakih dodatnih 30 minuta donijelo je čak 49 % povećanje rizika od tzv. ekspresivnog poremećaja. Čak i ako je razumijevanje (tzv. receptivna strana) bilo u skladu s očekivanjima za njihovu dob, djeca koja su bila iznadprosječno izložena različitim ekranima često su imala dosta problema s izražavanjem.

Pasivno prihvaćanje umjesto aktivnog sudjelovanja

Na prvi pogled čini se da elektronički uređaji mogu pomoći razvoju dječjeg govora. Na primjer, ako djeca često gledaju različite video sadržaje, ona su u kontaktu sa živim jezikom. Naravno, problem, koji je potvrdila i opisana studija, vezan je uz činjenicu da se radi o jednosmjernoj "komunikaciji".

Djeca tako razvijaju receptivnu sposobnost, ali s druge strane nemaju priliku za punokrvni razvoj izražajne sposobnosti. Oni stoga sudjeluju u komunikaciji kao pasivni primatelji, ali ne i kao aktivni sukreatori. Naravno, često izlaganje ekranima može donijeti i dodatne probleme, poput nemira ili razdražljivosti, što je povezano s nedostatkom tjelesne aktivnosti. Elektronički uređaji mogu nakratko omesti djetetu pažnju, no dugoročni učinci česte uporabe uglavnom su negativni.

Upotreba elektroničkih uređaja mora biti vrlo promišljena

Sve to ne znači da je uporaba elektroničkih uređaja od strane male djece potpuno zabranjena. Ipak, svakako treba obratiti pozornost na to kako i kada se takvi uređaji koriste. Ako vrlo mala djeca imaju pristup pametnom telefonu ili tabletu praktički svaki dan, te su više-manje prepuštena sama sebi tijekom korištenja, to naravno može biti vrlo problematično, pogotovo ako je vrijeme korištenja praktički neograničeno.

Važno je da korištenje elektroničkih uređaja bude planirano i da se odvija pod kontrolom, pri čemu maksimalno vrijeme dnevnog korištenja treba prilagoditi preporukama za pojedine dobne skupine. Pritom treba pripaziti da dijete ne bude samo pasivni promatrač. Stoga, dok gledate video, možete mu, primjerice, postavljati pitanja vezana uz ono što se događa na ekranu. To će ojačati njegovu izražajnu jezičnu sposobnost. Dakle, nema potrebe potpuno demonizirati ekrane, ali je oprez svakako neophodan.
