Toyota počinje ugradnju novog, 1.5-litrenog benzinskog motora u redizajnirani model Yarisa koji stiže kao zamjena za aktualni 1.3-litreni agregat zbog uvođenja norme Euro 6c i homologacijske norme RDE (Real Driving Emission).
Ovaj 4-cilindarski motor je dio obitelji ESTEC (Economy with Superior Thermal Efficient Combustion – štednja uz izgaranje vrhunske toplinske učinkovitosti) i uvodi nova tehnička rješenja kojima se postižu bolje performanse, povećani užitak u vožnji i, istovremeno, smanjenje potrošnje goriva od 12 posto.
Redizajnirani Yaris pokretat će atmosferski motor obujma 1496 ccm koji razvija 111 KS uz okretni moment od 136 Nm pri 4400 "điri", od čega je 118 Nm dostupno već pri 2000 okretaja.
U usporedbi sa 1.3-litrenim benzincem, poboljšane performanse se očituju u smanjenju vremena potrebnog za ubrzanje od 0 do 100 km/h (11,0 u odnosu na 11,8 sekundi) te posebno u dobitku od preko sekunde u ubrzavanju od 80 do 120 km/h (17,6 u odnosu na 18,8 sekundi).
Brzi odaziv atmosferskog motora ove zapremine daje Yarisu razinu užitka u vožnji koju će vozač osjetiti i u gradskoj vožnji kao i na otvorenoj cesti.
Da bi zadovoljila zahtjeve nove norme Euro 6c i novog homologacijskog ciklusa RDE, Toyota je iskoristila svoje znanje iz područja hibridnih vozila. U ovom novom motoru to se očituje toplinskom učinkovitošću od 38,5 posto što ga svrstava u red najboljih motora.
Ove performanse su postignute velikim kompresijskim omjerom od 13,5, usvajanjem povrata ohlađenih ispušnih plinova (EGR) i proširivanjem upravljanjem rada ventila koji omogućava prelazak s Ottovog na Atkinsonov proces.
Veći kompresijski omjer je postignut zahvaljujući konstrukciji komore za izgaranje i korištenjem novih klipova koji pospješuju homogenizaciju smjese i brzinu izgaranja. Smanjenjem temperature izgaranja, ohlađeni vraćeni ispušnih plinovi (EGR) isto tako pomiču pojavu lupanja u motoru (detonantnog izgaranja).
Povrh toga, količina vraćenih inertnih plinova pomaže u smanjenju gubitka zbog pumpanja pri malim i srednjim opterećenjima što povećava učinkovitost. Konačno, primjernom novog sustava promjenljivog upravljanja radom ventila - VVT-iE - omogućava prebacivanje s Ottovog na Atkinsonov proces i obrnuto u djeliću sekunde.
Uz električno upravljanje, pomak faze usisnog bregastog vratila omogućava zatvaranje usisnog ventila nakon donje mrtve točke klipa, čime se smanjuje takt kompresije, a posljedično se smanjuju gubici zbog pumpanja (Atkinsonov proces) ili ranije otvaranje radi vraćanja na Ottov proces i time postizanja boljih performansi pri velikim opterećenjima. Pomakom faze bregastog vratila ispuha upravlja se hidrauličkim sustavom.
Akcenat je bio i na smanjenju potrošnje goriva i emisije štetnih plinova pri održivim brzinama na autocesti. Zbog toga je novi motor po prvi put kod Toyote opremljen vodom hlađenom ispušnom granom.
Ograničavanjem temperature ispušnih plinova izbjegava se obogaćivanje smjese potrebno za smanjenje temperature izgaranja na bilo kojoj brzini vožnje na autocesti, a time se pak smanjuje potrošnja goriva i emisija plinova u tim uvjetima rada.

Toyota počinje ugradnju novog, 1.5-litrenog benzinskog motora u redizajnirani model Yarisa koji stiže kao zamjena za aktualni 1.3-litreni agregat zbog uvođenja norme Euro 6c i homologacijske norme RDE (Real Driving Emission).
Ovaj 4-cilindarski motor je dio obitelji ESTEC (Economy with Superior Thermal Efficient Combustion – štednja uz izgaranje vrhunske toplinske učinkovitosti) i uvodi nova tehnička rješenja kojima se postižu bolje performanse, povećani užitak u vožnji i, istovremeno, smanjenje potrošnje goriva od 12 posto.
Redizajnirani Yaris pokretat će atmosferski motor obujma 1496 ccm koji razvija 111 KS uz okretni moment od 136 Nm pri 4400 "điri", od čega je 118 Nm dostupno već pri 2000 okretaja.
U usporedbi sa 1.3-litrenim benzincem, poboljšane performanse se očituju u smanjenju vremena potrebnog za ubrzanje od 0 do 100 km/h (11,0 u odnosu na 11,8 sekundi) te posebno u dobitku od preko sekunde u ubrzavanju od 80 do 120 km/h (17,6 u odnosu na 18,8 sekundi).
Brzi odaziv atmosferskog motora ove zapremine daje Yarisu razinu užitka u vožnji koju će vozač osjetiti i u gradskoj vožnji kao i na otvorenoj cesti.
Da bi zadovoljila zahtjeve nove norme Euro 6c i novog homologacijskog ciklusa RDE, Toyota je iskoristila svoje znanje iz područja hibridnih vozila. U ovom novom motoru to se očituje toplinskom učinkovitošću od 38,5 posto što ga svrstava u red najboljih motora.
Ove performanse su postignute velikim kompresijskim omjerom od 13,5, usvajanjem povrata ohlađenih ispušnih plinova (EGR) i proširivanjem upravljanjem rada ventila koji omogućava prelazak s Ottovog na Atkinsonov proces.
Veći kompresijski omjer je postignut zahvaljujući konstrukciji komore za izgaranje i korištenjem novih klipova koji pospješuju homogenizaciju smjese i brzinu izgaranja. Smanjenjem temperature izgaranja, ohlađeni vraćeni ispušnih plinovi (EGR) isto tako pomiču pojavu lupanja u motoru (detonantnog izgaranja).
Povrh toga, količina vraćenih inertnih plinova pomaže u smanjenju gubitka zbog pumpanja pri malim i srednjim opterećenjima što povećava učinkovitost. Konačno, primjernom novog sustava promjenljivog upravljanja radom ventila - VVT-iE - omogućava prebacivanje s Ottovog na Atkinsonov proces i obrnuto u djeliću sekunde.
Uz električno upravljanje, pomak faze usisnog bregastog vratila omogućava zatvaranje usisnog ventila nakon donje mrtve točke klipa, čime se smanjuje takt kompresije, a posljedično se smanjuju gubici zbog pumpanja (Atkinsonov proces) ili ranije otvaranje radi vraćanja na Ottov proces i time postizanja boljih performansi pri velikim opterećenjima. Pomakom faze bregastog vratila ispuha upravlja se hidrauličkim sustavom.
Akcenat je bio i na smanjenju potrošnje goriva i emisije štetnih plinova pri održivim brzinama na autocesti. Zbog toga je novi motor po prvi put kod Toyote opremljen vodom hlađenom ispušnom granom.
Ograničavanjem temperature ispušnih plinova izbjegava se obogaćivanje smjese potrebno za smanjenje temperature izgaranja na bilo kojoj brzini vožnje na autocesti, a time se pak smanjuje potrošnja goriva i emisija plinova u tim uvjetima rada.
