Proslavljeni hrvatski alpinist, 60-godišnji Stipe Božić, prije nekoliko je dana otišao u Pakistan kako bi kao član slovenske ekspedicije pokušao osvojiti vrh Nanga Parbat (8125 metara).
− Na ekspediciju me je pozvao moj stari himalajski partner Viki Grošelj, s kojim sam gotovo 20 puta bio u gorju Himalaje. Put nas preko Münchena vodi u Islamabad, gdje u dva dana moramo ishoditi dozvole i pripremiti se za put preko 4173 metara visokog prijelaza Babusar. Nakon dva dana vožnje stići ćemo u Chilas, koji se nalazi u dolini rijeke Ind. Odatle opet treba vrlo opasnim putem do visine od 2700 metara, odakle se ide tri dana pješice do podnožja planine gdje na 4000 metara namjeravamo podignuti bazni logor − opisuje Stipe Božić.
Cilj je ekspedicije preko stijene Diamir uspeti se na vrh.
− Nanga Parbat (Gola planina) nalazi se u lancu Himalaje u Pakistanu. Jedna je od četrnaest planina viših od 8000 metara i deveta je najviša planina na svijetu. Poznata je također i kao “planina ubojica”, smatra se trećom najpogibeljnijom planinom za alpinističke uspone, i to nakon Annapurne i K2. Riječ je o izvanredno teškom usponu. Nanga Parbat je golem i impresivan vrh koji dominira nad okolnim krajevima − kazuje Stipe, svjestan opasnosti i raznih zamki koje ga čekaju na tom usponu.
Nanga Parbat prvi je osvojio austrijski alpinist Hermann Buhl 3. srpnja 1953. On je bio član austrijsko-njemačke ekspedicije koju je predvodio Karl Maria Herrligkoffer. Popeo se po stijeni Rakhiot na sjeveroistoku.
− Uspon na vrh bio je vrlo težak. Buhl je nastavio sam nakon što su ostali penjači odustali, te je na vrh stigao jako kasno. Silazak je također bio usporen nakon gubitka dereze, te je zbog mraka bio prisiljen prenoćiti u stojećem položaju na uskoj izbočini. Vratio se u logor idućeg dana, 40 sati nakon polaska. Buhl je bio prvi alpinist koji je ostvario solo uspon na vrh iznad 8000 metara, i to bez kisika − govori Božić.
Drugi uspon postigla je 1962. njemačka ekipa, i to po rubnom dijelu stijene Diamir (što je cilj i ove ekspedicije) izbjegavajući sredinu koja je sklona lavinama.
− Taj se put danas smatra standardnim putem uspona. Prije 41 godine, Reinhold i Gaznther Messner prvi su osvojili vrh usponom preko zahtjevne južne Rupalske stijene, ali pri silasku tada još neistraženom stranom Diamir Gaznther Messner poginuo je pod lavinom. Reinhold Messner se na Nanga Parbat uspeo opet 1978. godine. Nakon šest godina Lilliane Barrard je, zajedno sa suprugom Mauriceom Barrardom, postala prva žena na vrhu te planine, a 2005., nakon jednotjednog uspona, američki alpinisti Steve House i Vince Anderson izveli su uspon novim smjerom preko Rupalske stijene. Preduhitrili su Slovenca Tomaža Humara koji je te sezone ostao zarobljen u stijeni. Humara su s visine 6400 metara u spektakularnoj helikopterskoj akciji spasili pakistanski piloti. Humar je poslije poginuo na južnoj stijeni Langtang Lirung, kojom se pokušavao popeti u alpskom stilu, i to sam − kao iz rukava nam je Stipe Božić istresao podatke.

Proslavljeni hrvatski alpinist, 60-godišnji Stipe Božić, prije nekoliko je dana otišao u Pakistan kako bi kao član slovenske ekspedicije pokušao osvojiti vrh Nanga Parbat (8125 metara).
− Na ekspediciju me je pozvao moj stari himalajski partner Viki Grošelj, s kojim sam gotovo 20 puta bio u gorju Himalaje. Put nas preko Münchena vodi u Islamabad, gdje u dva dana moramo ishoditi dozvole i pripremiti se za put preko 4173 metara visokog prijelaza Babusar. Nakon dva dana vožnje stići ćemo u Chilas, koji se nalazi u dolini rijeke Ind. Odatle opet treba vrlo opasnim putem do visine od 2700 metara, odakle se ide tri dana pješice do podnožja planine gdje na 4000 metara namjeravamo podignuti bazni logor − opisuje Stipe Božić.
Cilj je ekspedicije preko stijene Diamir uspeti se na vrh.
− Nanga Parbat (Gola planina) nalazi se u lancu Himalaje u Pakistanu. Jedna je od četrnaest planina viših od 8000 metara i deveta je najviša planina na svijetu. Poznata je također i kao “planina ubojica”, smatra se trećom najpogibeljnijom planinom za alpinističke uspone, i to nakon Annapurne i K2. Riječ je o izvanredno teškom usponu. Nanga Parbat je golem i impresivan vrh koji dominira nad okolnim krajevima − kazuje Stipe, svjestan opasnosti i raznih zamki koje ga čekaju na tom usponu.
Nanga Parbat prvi je osvojio austrijski alpinist Hermann Buhl 3. srpnja 1953. On je bio član austrijsko-njemačke ekspedicije koju je predvodio Karl Maria Herrligkoffer. Popeo se po stijeni Rakhiot na sjeveroistoku.
− Uspon na vrh bio je vrlo težak. Buhl je nastavio sam nakon što su ostali penjači odustali, te je na vrh stigao jako kasno. Silazak je također bio usporen nakon gubitka dereze, te je zbog mraka bio prisiljen prenoćiti u stojećem položaju na uskoj izbočini. Vratio se u logor idućeg dana, 40 sati nakon polaska. Buhl je bio prvi alpinist koji je ostvario solo uspon na vrh iznad 8000 metara, i to bez kisika − govori Božić.
Drugi uspon postigla je 1962. njemačka ekipa, i to po rubnom dijelu stijene Diamir (što je cilj i ove ekspedicije) izbjegavajući sredinu koja je sklona lavinama.
− Taj se put danas smatra standardnim putem uspona. Prije 41 godine, Reinhold i Gaznther Messner prvi su osvojili vrh usponom preko zahtjevne južne Rupalske stijene, ali pri silasku tada još neistraženom stranom Diamir Gaznther Messner poginuo je pod lavinom. Reinhold Messner se na Nanga Parbat uspeo opet 1978. godine. Nakon šest godina Lilliane Barrard je, zajedno sa suprugom Mauriceom Barrardom, postala prva žena na vrhu te planine, a 2005., nakon jednotjednog uspona, američki alpinisti Steve House i Vince Anderson izveli su uspon novim smjerom preko Rupalske stijene. Preduhitrili su Slovenca Tomaža Humara koji je te sezone ostao zarobljen u stijeni. Humara su s visine 6400 metara u spektakularnoj helikopterskoj akciji spasili pakistanski piloti. Humar je poslije poginuo na južnoj stijeni Langtang Lirung, kojom se pokušavao popeti u alpskom stilu, i to sam − kao iz rukava nam je Stipe Božić istresao podatke.
