Na dražbi koja će se u Londonu održati 10. srpnja vidjet će se koliko je istinita bila tvrdnja Johna Lennona da bi stihovi antiratne pjesme "Give Peace a
Chance" napisani njegovom rukom "jednoga dana mogli nešto i
vrijediti".

Christie's će na dražbi ponuditi list papira sa stihovima, a prema očekivanjima dražbovatelja Lennonov bi rukopis mogao postići cijenu između 400.000 i 600.000 dolara.

Lennon je pjesmu napisao 1969. kada su on i Yoko Ono, prosvjedujući protiv rata, proveli osam dana u krevetu u sobi 1742 u montrealskom hotelu Queen Elizabeth, otvorivši vrata brojnim novinarima i političarima.

Rukopis prodaje Gail Renard, koja se kao šesnaestogodišnjakinja uvukla u Lennonovu sobu uoči konferencije za novinare i zatražila ga da joj da intervju za sveučilišni časopis.

Lennon i Renard, koja je poslije počela pisati za televiziju, postali su prijatelji, a on joj je dao neke svoje bilješke, među kojima i list papira s ispisanim stihovima, rekavši joj kako bi "jednoga dana mogli nešto i vrijediti".

Tijekom prosvjeda Lennon je snimio pjesmu "Give Peace a Chance" koju je s njim otpjevalo pedesetak osoba, među kojima su bili i zagovornik LSD-a Timothy Leary i pjesnik Allan Ginsberg.

Renard, koja samu sebe opisuje kao "beatlemanijaka", jednom je uokvirene stihove objesila na zid, ali ih je maknula, bojeći se da se ne oštete.

"Stvarno sam postala nervozna pa je papir neko vrijeme bio u sefu", rekla je. "A onda sam pomislila da je to smiješno jer ga tako nitko ne vidi. Rukopis se pretvorio u odgovornost. Bilo bi mi draže da i drugi mogu uživati u njemu".

Na dražbi koja će se u Londonu održati 10. srpnja vidjet će se koliko je istinita bila tvrdnja Johna Lennona da bi stihovi antiratne pjesme "Give Peace a
Chance" napisani njegovom rukom "jednoga dana mogli nešto i
vrijediti".

Christie's će na dražbi ponuditi list papira sa stihovima, a prema očekivanjima dražbovatelja Lennonov bi rukopis mogao postići cijenu između 400.000 i 600.000 dolara.

Lennon je pjesmu napisao 1969. kada su on i Yoko Ono, prosvjedujući protiv rata, proveli osam dana u krevetu u sobi 1742 u montrealskom hotelu Queen Elizabeth, otvorivši vrata brojnim novinarima i političarima.

Rukopis prodaje Gail Renard, koja se kao šesnaestogodišnjakinja uvukla u Lennonovu sobu uoči konferencije za novinare i zatražila ga da joj da intervju za sveučilišni časopis.

Lennon i Renard, koja je poslije počela pisati za televiziju, postali su prijatelji, a on joj je dao neke svoje bilješke, među kojima i list papira s ispisanim stihovima, rekavši joj kako bi "jednoga dana mogli nešto i vrijediti".

Tijekom prosvjeda Lennon je snimio pjesmu "Give Peace a Chance" koju je s njim otpjevalo pedesetak osoba, među kojima su bili i zagovornik LSD-a Timothy Leary i pjesnik Allan Ginsberg.

Renard, koja samu sebe opisuje kao "beatlemanijaka", jednom je uokvirene stihove objesila na zid, ali ih je maknula, bojeći se da se ne oštete.

"Stvarno sam postala nervozna pa je papir neko vrijeme bio u sefu", rekla je. "A onda sam pomislila da je to smiješno jer ga tako nitko ne vidi. Rukopis se pretvorio u odgovornost. Bilo bi mi draže da i drugi mogu uživati u njemu".
