Europa u četvrtak pokreće prve usluge svojeg sustava navigacije putem satelita - Galileo, uz obećanje preciznijeg geolociranja za korisnike i ambiciju da konkurira moćnom američkom GPS-u.

"Galileo će deset puta povećati preciznost geolociranja a profitirat će sljedeća generacija tehnoloških proizvoda poput autonomnih vozila, umreženih aparata ili 'inteligentne' gradske opreme i usluga", objašnjava Maroš Šefčovič, europski povjerenik za energetiku, citiran u priopćenju.

Šačica privilegiranih, u posjedu jedinog smartphonea kompatibilnog s Galileom - Aquarius X5 Plus, španjolskog proizvođača BQ - moći će hvatati novi signal tijekom četvrtka. Ti će pioniri moći besplatno koristiti europski sustav kako bi pronašli ljekarnu, najbolji putokaz za odlazak na odmor ili podesili korake u maratonu.

Nakon uspješnog lansiranja četiriju satelita u studenome, sustav Galileo sada u orbiti ima 18 satelita, a za globalnu pokrivenost potrebno ih je najmanje 24. Galileo bi trebao biti potpuno operativan od 2020. godine.

Do tada bi trebao poboljšati signale za automobilsku navigaciju i mobilne telefone, pridonijeti sigurnosti cestovnog i željezničkog prometa te potaknuti istraživanja i razvoj i otvaranje visokotehnoloških radnih mjesta diljem Europe.

Sve su brojniji umreženi predmeti koji se služe komunikacijskim satelitima, poput naljepnice koja omogućava geolociranje pacijenata koji boluju od Alzheimera ili oznake koja omogućava pronalaženje mjesta na kojem smo parkirali.

Za neke aparate bit će dovoljno ažuriranje za korištenje nove tehnologije, po povjerenstvu. No, za masovni dolazak proizvoda kompatibilnih s Galileom trebat će se još strpjeti.

"Geolociranje u središtu je digitalne revolucije u tijeku s novim uslugama koje mijenjaju našu svakodnevicu", ističe Šefčovič.

"Oko 10 posto europskog BNP-a danas ovisi o sustavu pozicioniranja satelitom, a do 2030. taj bi postotak mogao porasti na oko 30 posto", po CNES-u, francuskoj svemirskoj agenciji.

Europa nije u najboljoj poziciji jer već funkcioniraju američki GPS, ruski Glonass ili kineski Beidou. "Krećemo sa zakašnjenjem ali smo brži", tvrdi Jean-Yves Le Gall, predsjednik CNES-a.

Europa u četvrtak pokreće prve usluge svojeg sustava navigacije putem satelita - Galileo, uz obećanje preciznijeg geolociranja za korisnike i ambiciju da konkurira moćnom američkom GPS-u.

"Galileo će deset puta povećati preciznost geolociranja a profitirat će sljedeća generacija tehnoloških proizvoda poput autonomnih vozila, umreženih aparata ili 'inteligentne' gradske opreme i usluga", objašnjava Maroš Šefčovič, europski povjerenik za energetiku, citiran u priopćenju.

Šačica privilegiranih, u posjedu jedinog smartphonea kompatibilnog s Galileom - Aquarius X5 Plus, španjolskog proizvođača BQ - moći će hvatati novi signal tijekom četvrtka. Ti će pioniri moći besplatno koristiti europski sustav kako bi pronašli ljekarnu, najbolji putokaz za odlazak na odmor ili podesili korake u maratonu.

Nakon uspješnog lansiranja četiriju satelita u studenome, sustav Galileo sada u orbiti ima 18 satelita, a za globalnu pokrivenost potrebno ih je najmanje 24. Galileo bi trebao biti potpuno operativan od 2020. godine.

Do tada bi trebao poboljšati signale za automobilsku navigaciju i mobilne telefone, pridonijeti sigurnosti cestovnog i željezničkog prometa te potaknuti istraživanja i razvoj i otvaranje visokotehnoloških radnih mjesta diljem Europe.

Sve su brojniji umreženi predmeti koji se služe komunikacijskim satelitima, poput naljepnice koja omogućava geolociranje pacijenata koji boluju od Alzheimera ili oznake koja omogućava pronalaženje mjesta na kojem smo parkirali.

Za neke aparate bit će dovoljno ažuriranje za korištenje nove tehnologije, po povjerenstvu. No, za masovni dolazak proizvoda kompatibilnih s Galileom trebat će se još strpjeti.

"Geolociranje u središtu je digitalne revolucije u tijeku s novim uslugama koje mijenjaju našu svakodnevicu", ističe Šefčovič.

"Oko 10 posto europskog BNP-a danas ovisi o sustavu pozicioniranja satelitom, a do 2030. taj bi postotak mogao porasti na oko 30 posto", po CNES-u, francuskoj svemirskoj agenciji.

Europa nije u najboljoj poziciji jer već funkcioniraju američki GPS, ruski Glonass ili kineski Beidou. "Krećemo sa zakašnjenjem ali smo brži", tvrdi Jean-Yves Le Gall, predsjednik CNES-a.
