Amy Williams (24) iz Basildona u Essexu borila se za život nakon što je zaboravila tampon koji joj je u tijelu ostao pet dana. Razvio se sindrom toksičnog šoka, zbog čega je njezino tijelo prešlo u septički šok, što može uzrokovati zatajenje više organa i smrt ako se ne liječi. Mlada žena sada želi ispričati svoje dramatično iskustvo kako bi druge upoznala s opasnim rizicima sindroma toksičnog šoka u nadi da će tako spriječiti da se ijednoj ženi više dogodi nešto slično.

- Čula sam za sindrom toksičnog šoka, ali nisam mislila da će mi se to ikad dogoditi. Tampone sam koristila desetak godina, ali od sada ih više nikada neću koristiti. Želim upozoriti žene i mlade djevojke da budu posebno oprezne kada ih koriste, kaže Amy.

U lipnju 2019. Amy je bila u noćnom izlasku sa svojim dečkom Samuelom Mullenom (30). U jednom trenutku otišla je na zahod kako bi promijenila tampon. Kako nije mogla pronaći končić ali ni osjetiti tampon, mislila je da ga nema, pa je umetnula još jedan.

-Tada sam bila prilično pijana i nisam se mogla sjetiti jesam li već imala tampon, kad ga nisam mogla pronaći, pojasnila je. Nakon toga, Amy je nastavila mijenjati tampone po potrebi. No, pet dana kasnije, primijetila je snažan neugodan miris koji joj je dopirao iz rodnice. Rekla je: 'Mirisalo je na smrt i to nije bilo normalno. Dakle, ušla sam pod tuš da se operem, ali miris je i dalje bio prisutan nakon što sam izašla i osušila se. Legla sam na krevet i provjeravala o čemu se radi. Tada je primijetila da joj iz vagine dolazi miris 'poput smrti'.‘

- Osjetila sam nešto pod noktom i sinulo mi je da je u meni tampon, prisjetila se. Tampon se okrenuo poprečno i zaglavio se, što znači da je Amy trebalo pola sata da ga izvadi. Gotovo se onesvijestila od boli.

- Kad je izašao, osjetila sam da ću se onesvijestiti. Tampon je bio crn. Bilo je odvratno, kaže Amy. Čak i nakon uklanjanja tampona, trpjela je bolne grčeve u donjem dijelu trbuha. Dva dana kasnije počela je osjećati mučninu, a njen suradnik je komentirao da je 'izgledala kao da je na vratima smrti'. Kad su je hitno prevezli u Sveučilišnu bolnicu Basildon, Amyna temperatura bila je 40 stupnjeva i počela je povraćati.

- Odveli su me na odjel i priključili na infuziju antibioticima dok su uzimali krvne pretrage. Rekla sam osoblju da sam pet dana imala u sebi zaboravljeni tampon. Tada su me obavijestili da mi je razina CPR-a 264, a normalna vrijednost je 5, istakla je Amy.

Njeni su organi počeli otkazivati ​​i upala je u septički šok. Ubrzo nakon toga dijagnosticiran joj je sindrom toksičnog šoka.

Amy dijeli svoju priču u nadi da će povećati svijest o riziku od sindroma toksičnog šoka zbog korištenja tampona.- Liječnik mi je rekao da se taj dan nisam došla u bolnicu više se ne bi probudila, rekla je Amy.

- Bila sam prestravljena. Zaplakala sam medicinskoj sestri i pitala je hoću li ikad ponovno vidjeti svog trogodišnjeg sina Archieja.

- Sljedeća četiri dana Amy se borila za život, gubila je svijest i opet se vraćala, dok joj je tijelo bilo pod snažnim utjecajem antibiotika u borbi protiv trovanje krvi. Srećom, nakon gotovo tjedan dana u bolnici otpuštena i poslana kući na daljnje praćenje i desetodnevnu terapiju antibioticima.

Amy Williams (24) iz Basildona u Essexu borila se za život nakon što je zaboravila tampon koji joj je u tijelu ostao pet dana. Razvio se sindrom toksičnog šoka, zbog čega je njezino tijelo prešlo u septički šok, što može uzrokovati zatajenje više organa i smrt ako se ne liječi. Mlada žena sada želi ispričati svoje dramatično iskustvo kako bi druge upoznala s opasnim rizicima sindroma toksičnog šoka u nadi da će tako spriječiti da se ijednoj ženi više dogodi nešto slično.

- Čula sam za sindrom toksičnog šoka, ali nisam mislila da će mi se to ikad dogoditi. Tampone sam koristila desetak godina, ali od sada ih više nikada neću koristiti. Želim upozoriti žene i mlade djevojke da budu posebno oprezne kada ih koriste, kaže Amy.

U lipnju 2019. Amy je bila u noćnom izlasku sa svojim dečkom Samuelom Mullenom (30). U jednom trenutku otišla je na zahod kako bi promijenila tampon. Kako nije mogla pronaći končić ali ni osjetiti tampon, mislila je da ga nema, pa je umetnula još jedan.

-Tada sam bila prilično pijana i nisam se mogla sjetiti jesam li već imala tampon, kad ga nisam mogla pronaći, pojasnila je. Nakon toga, Amy je nastavila mijenjati tampone po potrebi. No, pet dana kasnije, primijetila je snažan neugodan miris koji joj je dopirao iz rodnice. Rekla je: 'Mirisalo je na smrt i to nije bilo normalno. Dakle, ušla sam pod tuš da se operem, ali miris je i dalje bio prisutan nakon što sam izašla i osušila se. Legla sam na krevet i provjeravala o čemu se radi. - Osjetila sam nešto pod noktom i sinulo mi je da je u meni tampon, prisjetila se. Tampon se okrenuo poprečno i zaglavio se, što znači da je Amy trebalo pola sata da ga izvadi. Gotovo se onesvijestila od boli.

- Kad je izašao, osjetila sam da ću se onesvijestiti. Tampon je bio crn. Bilo je odvratno, kaže Amy. Čak i nakon uklanjanja tampona, trpjela je bolne grčeve u donjem dijelu trbuha. Dva dana kasnije počela je osjećati mučninu, a njen suradnik je komentirao da je 'izgledala kao da je na vratima smrti'. Kad su je hitno prevezli u Sveučilišnu bolnicu Basildon, Amyna temperatura bila je 40 stupnjeva i počela je povraćati.

- Odveli su me na odjel i priključili na infuziju antibioticima dok su uzimali krvne pretrage. Rekla sam osoblju da sam pet dana imala u sebi zaboravljeni tampon. Tada su me obavijestili da mi je razina CPR-a 264, a normalna vrijednost je 5, istakla je Amy.

Njeni su organi počeli otkazivati ​​i upala je u septički šok. Ubrzo nakon toga dijagnosticiran joj je sindrom toksičnog šoka.

Amy dijeli svoju priču u nadi da će povećati svijest o riziku od sindroma toksičnog šoka zbog korištenja tampona.- Liječnik mi je rekao da se taj dan nisam došla u bolnicu više se ne bi probudila, rekla je Amy.

- Bila sam prestravljena. Zaplakala sam medicinskoj sestri i pitala je hoću li ikad ponovno vidjeti svog trogodišnjeg sina Archieja.

- Sljedeća četiri dana Amy se borila za život, gubila je svijest i opet se vraćala, dok joj je tijelo bilo pod snažnim utjecajem antibiotika u borbi protiv trovanje krvi. Srećom, nakon gotovo tjedan dana u bolnici otpuštena i poslana kući na daljnje praćenje i desetodnevnu terapiju antibioticima.

Amy Williams (24) iz Basildona u Essexu borila se za život nakon što je zaboravila tampon koji joj je u tijelu ostao pet dana. Razvio se sindrom toksičnog šoka, zbog čega je njezino tijelo prešlo u septički šok, što može uzrokovati zatajenje više organa i smrt ako se ne liječi. Mlada žena sada želi ispričati svoje dramatično iskustvo kako bi druge upoznala s opasnim rizicima sindroma toksičnog šoka u nadi da će tako spriječiti da se ijednoj ženi više dogodi nešto slično.

- Čula sam za sindrom toksičnog šoka, ali nisam mislila da će mi se to ikad dogoditi. Tampone sam koristila desetak godina, ali od sada ih više nikada neću koristiti. Želim upozoriti žene i mlade djevojke da budu posebno oprezne kada ih koriste, kaže Amy.
