Strogo čuvani dokumenti otkrili su da su atentatori koji su ubili novinara Jamala Khashoggija koristili dva privatna zrakoplova tvrtke koju je zaplijenio prijestolonasljednik Saudijske Arabije Mohamed Bin Salman, popularno zvan MBS.

U dokumentima koji su podneseni u sklopu tužbe u Kanadi, a do kojih je došao CNN, opisano je kako je vlasništvo nad tvrtkom Sky Prime Aviation u 2017. godini prebačeno u kraljevski fond vrijedan 400 milijardi dolara, poznat i kao Javni investicijski fond. Samo godinu dana kasnije, u listopadu 2018. godine, zrakoplovi Gulfstream koristili su se za izvršenje Khashoggijeva ubojstva.

Prema CNN-u, dokumente koji su utvrdili vezu između zrakoplova i princa podnijela je skupina tvrtki u vlasništvu Saudijske Arabije u sklopu tužbe za pronevjeru protiv saudijskog obavještajnog službenika Saada Aljabrija. Aljabri je prošle godine podnio tužbu u Washingtonu protiv MBS-a, optužujući ga da je poslao svoj tim ljudi da ga ubije u Kanadi nekoliko dana nakon što je ubijen Khashoggi. Dokumenti podneseni u sklopu kanadske građanske parnice početkom ove godine nosili su oznaku "strogo povjerljivo", a potpisao ih je saudijski ministar koji je prenio naredbe MBS-a.

Sky Prime Aviationom upravljao je zet Saada Aljrabija, Salem Almuzaini. Prema izmijenjenoj tužbi koju je ovog mjeseca Aljabri podnio protiv MBS-a u Washingtonu, Almuzaini je otet u Dubaiju u rujnu 2017. godine i prisilno vraćen u Saudijsku Arabiju.

Prema tužbi, Aljrabri kaže da se Almuzainija nekoliko mjeseci mučilo i zlostavljalo. Između ostalo zlostavljao ga je i pomoćnik MBS-a umiješan u ubojstvo Khashoggija. Na kraju je Almuzaini premješten u luksuzni hotel Ritz-Carlton u Rijadu, gdje je MBS u ime antikorupcijske kampanje pritvorio oko 200 saudijskih pripadnika obitelji, dužnosnika i poslovnih ljudi.

Dokazi da je vlasništvo nad flotom privatnih zrakoplova premješteno u Fond za javna ulaganja Saudijske Arabije nisu prethodno prijavljeni i pružaju još jednu vezu između Khashoggijeve smrti i najmoćnijeg Saudijca MBS-a.

Khashoggija, kolumnista Washington Posta i kritičara politike saudijske vlade, ubio je tim saudijskih agenata u konzulatu zemlje u Istanbulu 2. listopada 2018. Khashoggi je išao u konzulat po dokumente potrebne za brak. Američki mediji poslije su izvijestili da je CIA zaključila da ga je ubio tim operativaca povezan s MBS-om koji su mu potom raskomadali tijelo.

Njegovi posmrtni ostaci nisu nikada pronađeni. MBS je negirao optužbe, ali je Rijad na kraju priznao da je Khashoggi ubijen u operaciji koja je pošla po zlu, no porekao je umiješanost prijestolonasljednika. Kao odgovor na ubojstvo, američki je Kongres u prosincu 2019. usvojio zakon koji je sadržavao odredbu koja nalaže da Nacionalna obavještajna služba (DNI) objavi izvješće o Khashoggijevu ubojstvu u roku od 30 dana. Zakon je naložio DNI-ju da predoči dokaze o ulozi koju su trenutni ili bivši saudijski vladini dužnosnici ili saudijski političari imali u ''naređivanju'' ubojstva. Tajno izvješće američkog obavještajnog ureda implicira da je saudijski prijestolonasljednik Mohammed bin Salman, poznati i kao MBS, bio umiješan u Khashoggijevo ubojstvo.

Trumpova administracija odbila je objaviti cjelovito izvješće usprkos zakonu, rekavši zakonodavcima da će otkrivanje informacija ugroziti nacionalni obavještajni ured. Bivšeg američkog predsjednika Donalda Trumpa smatralo se bliskim saudijskoj monarhiji, posebno MBS-u. Put u Rijad je Trumpu bio prvi inozemni posjet.

Joe Biden pročitao je izvješće u srijedu, a danas je redigirana verzija trebala biti napokon puštena u javnost. Nova američka administracija najavila je da će iskoristiti otkrivanje izvješća o ubojstvu Khashoggija za "resetiranje" odnosa sa Saudijskom Arabijom. Predsjednik je novinarima u srijedu rekao i da očekuje telefonski razgovor sa saudijskim kraljem Salamanom bin Abdulaziz al-Saudijem. Značajna promjena od Trumpa jest ta što će se Biden obratiti saudijskom kralju, umjesto MBS-u.

''Ne očekuje da će njegov sin, prijestolonasljednik MBS, biti na liniji'', rekla je u glasnogovornica Bijele kuće Jen Psaki. Bidenov razgovor s kraljem dolazi u trenutku kada je Bijela kuća prošlog tjedna najavila ''rekalibraciju'' američkih odnosa sa Saudijskom Arabijom. Ranije ovog mjeseca Biden je najavio da će ukinuti američku oružanu potporu pod vodstvom Saudijske Arabije u Jemenu. Imenovao je posebnog izaslanika koji će pojačati diplomatske napore kako bi se okončao rat u toj zemlji te će nastaviti razgovore s Iranom (potez kojem se Rijad protivi).

Strogo čuvani dokumenti otkrili su da su atentatori koji su ubili novinara Jamala Khashoggija koristili dva privatna zrakoplova tvrtke koju je zaplijenio prijestolonasljednik Saudijske Arabije Mohamed Bin Salman, popularno zvan MBS.

U dokumentima koji su podneseni u sklopu tužbe u Kanadi, a do kojih je došao CNN, opisano je kako je vlasništvo nad tvrtkom Sky Prime Aviation u 2017. godini prebačeno u kraljevski fond vrijedan 400 milijardi dolara, poznat i kao Javni investicijski fond. Samo godinu dana kasnije, u listopadu 2018. godine, zrakoplovi Gulfstream koristili su se za izvršenje Khashoggijeva ubojstva.

Prema CNN-u, dokumente koji su utvrdili vezu između zrakoplova i princa podnijela je skupina tvrtki u vlasništvu Saudijske Arabije u sklopu tužbe za pronevjeru protiv saudijskog obavještajnog službenika Saada Aljabrija. Aljabri je prošle godine podnio tužbu u Washingtonu protiv MBS-a, optužujući ga da je poslao svoj tim ljudi da ga ubije u Kanadi nekoliko dana nakon što je ubijen Khashoggi. Dokumenti podneseni u sklopu kanadske građanske parnice početkom ove godine nosili su oznaku "strogo povjerljivo", a potpisao ih je saudijski ministar koji je prenio naredbe MBS-a.

Sky Prime Aviationom upravljao je zet Saada Aljrabija, Salem Almuzaini. Prema izmijenjenoj tužbi koju je ovog mjeseca Aljabri podnio protiv MBS-a u Washingtonu, Almuzaini je otet u Dubaiju u rujnu 2017. godine i prisilno vraćen u Saudijsku Arabiju.

Prema tužbi, Aljrabri kaže da se Almuzainija nekoliko mjeseci mučilo i zlostavljalo. Između ostalo zlostavljao ga je i pomoćnik MBS-a umiješan u ubojstvo Khashoggija. Na kraju je Almuzaini premješten u luksuzni hotel Ritz-Carlton u Rijadu, gdje je MBS u ime antikorupcijske kampanje pritvorio oko 200 saudijskih pripadnika obitelji, dužnosnika i poslovnih ljudi.

Dokazi da je vlasništvo nad flotom privatnih zrakoplova premješteno u Fond za javna ulaganja Saudijske Arabije nisu prethodno prijavljeni i pružaju još jednu vezu između Khashoggijeve smrti i najmoćnijeg Saudijca MBS-a.

Khashoggija, kolumnista Washington Posta i kritičara politike saudijske vlade, ubio je tim saudijskih agenata u konzulatu zemlje u Istanbulu 2. listopada 2018. Khashoggi je išao u konzulat po dokumente potrebne za brak. Američki mediji poslije su izvijestili da je CIA zaključila da ga je ubio tim operativaca povezan s MBS-om koji su mu potom raskomadali tijelo.

Njegovi posmrtni ostaci nisu nikada pronađeni. MBS je negirao optužbe, ali je Rijad na kraju priznao da je Khashoggi ubijen u operaciji koja je pošla po zlu, no porekao je umiješanost prijestolonasljednika. Kao odgovor na ubojstvo, američki je Kongres u prosincu 2019. usvojio zakon koji je sadržavao odredbu koja nalaže da Nacionalna obavještajna služba (DNI) objavi izvješće o Khashoggijevu ubojstvu u roku od 30 dana. Zakon je naložio DNI-ju da predoči dokaze o ulozi koju su trenutni ili bivši saudijski vladini dužnosnici ili saudijski političari imali u ''naređivanju'' ubojstva. Tajno izvješće američkog obavještajnog ureda implicira da je saudijski prijestolonasljednik Mohammed bin Salman, poznati i kao MBS, bio umiješan u Khashoggijevo ubojstvo.

Trumpova administracija odbila je objaviti cjelovito izvješće usprkos zakonu, rekavši zakonodavcima da će otkrivanje informacija ugroziti nacionalni obavještajni ured. Bivšeg američkog predsjednika Donalda Trumpa smatralo se bliskim saudijskoj monarhiji, posebno MBS-u. Put u Rijad je Trumpu bio prvi inozemni posjet.

Joe Biden pročitao je izvješće u srijedu, a danas je redigirana verzija trebala biti napokon puštena u javnost. Nova američka administracija najavila je da će iskoristiti otkrivanje izvješća o ubojstvu Khashoggija za "resetiranje" odnosa sa Saudijskom Arabijom. Predsjednik je novinarima u srijedu rekao i da očekuje telefonski razgovor sa saudijskim kraljem Salamanom bin Abdulaziz al-Saudijem. Značajna promjena od Trumpa jest ta što će se Biden obratiti saudijskom kralju, umjesto MBS-u.

''Ne očekuje da će njegov sin, prijestolonasljednik MBS, biti na liniji'', rekla je u glasnogovornica Bijele kuće Jen Psaki. Bidenov razgovor s kraljem dolazi u trenutku kada je Bijela kuća prošlog tjedna najavila ''rekalibraciju'' američkih odnosa sa Saudijskom Arabijom. Ranije ovog mjeseca Biden je najavio da će ukinuti američku oružanu potporu pod vodstvom Saudijske Arabije u Jemenu. Imenovao je posebnog izaslanika koji će pojačati diplomatske napore kako bi se okončao rat u toj zemlji te će nastaviti razgovore s Iranom (potez kojem se Rijad protivi).
