Skoro dva stoljeća, od 1090. do 1273. godine, Red asasina igrao je jedinstvenu i jezivu ulogu na Bliskom istoku, koju opisuje National Geographic.

Šiitska sekta poznata pod imenom Ismailije bila je relativno malobrojna i geografski raspršena, međutim, zahvaljujući Asasinima (atentatori ili unajmljeni profesionalni ubojice), ova u smislu konvencionalne vojne moći veoma slaba grupa sijala je strah kako među sunitima tako i među kršćanskim osvajačima, točnije križarima koji su u to vrijeme zauzimali i gubili Jeruzalem, piše Newsweek.

Krajem 11. stoljeća, karizmatični i beskrupulozni vođa ismailija Hassan Sabbah pretvorio je ovu proganjanu sektu u jednu od najučinkovitijih – može se slobodno reći – terorističkih organizacija svih vremena.

Čak i najbolje čuvani i najmoćniji vladari doba – Kalife Abasida i Fatimida, sultani i veziri Seldžuka, emiri Damaska, Homsa i Mosula, pa i sam vođa Ajubida, veliki Saladin – drhtali su živeći u strahu od neustrašivih Asasina koji su mogli uvijek i svuda da udariti, u bilo kojem trenutku i iz bilo kojeg smjera, što su i činili.

Poznati pod nadimkom Fidai (od arapske riječi koja je označavala žrtvovanje, "onaj koji dobrovoljno riskira svoj život"), agenti Asasina provodili su mjesece, nekada i godine infiltrirajući neprijateljske redove prije nego što bi konačno zaboli bodež u srce mete.

Najstrašnije je to što Asasini najčešće nisu bježali s mjesta zločina, već su čekali sigurnu smrt.

Njihov nadimak Asasini potekao je od riječi "hašišini", što znači "uživatelji hašiša". Ovaj naziv Asasinima su nadjenuli neprijatelji zbog "opuštenosti" s kojom su njihovi agenti izvršavali zadatke. Ipak, povijesno je vrlo malo vjerojatno da su Asasini zaista konzumirali hašiš, prvenstveno zbog toga što je za delikatne misije koje su izvršavali bila potrebna savršena koncentracija i oštrina osjetila, navodi National Geographic.

Fanatični i disciplinirani vođa Asasina Hassan Sabbah, kao i njegovi nasljednici, bili su briljantni u upotrebi takozvanog "asimetričnog ratovanja". Razvili su taktike napada koje su zaobilazile prednosti neprijatelja kao što je brojčana nadmoć.

Sposobnost Asasina da uklanjaju neprijateljske, kako političke tako i vojne i vjerske vođe, omogućila im je da opstanu između velikih sila na Bliskom istoku.

Za razliku od današnjih terorističkih grupa, Sabbahovi Asasini koristili su teror u svrhe samoobrane, a njihove akcije bile su vrlo precizne, usmjerene na određenu ličnost, bez kolateralne štete.

Sredinom osmog stoljeća, ismailije su se odvojile od šiita i odlučile pratiti Ismaila bin Džafara, sedmog imama, kojeg nisu prihvaćali ostali šiiti. Njihova sekta bila je protiv luksuza u kojem su uživali sunitske Kalife, vladari većeg dijela muslimanskog svijeta. Kako su i šiiti i suniti odbacivali Ismailije kao heretike, oni su se pretvorili u tajnu, praktično revolucionarni grupu u okviru islama.

Hassan Sabbah, koji je pobjegao iz Kaira pod fatimidskom vlašću 1076. godine, prešao je u Isfahan gdje je upoznao misterioznog čovjeka koji će postati njegov mentor. Ovaj učitelj je odmah prepoznao Sabbahov potencijal i uz pomoć rigidnog treninga pretvorio je ovog fizički i mentalno briljantnog čovjeka u vrhunskog agenta i ubojicu.

Sabbah je nekoliko godina vršio tajne zadatke širom Perzije – od ubojstava do preobraćenja drugih muslimana u ismailije.

Kada je skupio dovoljno ljudi, Sabbah je dobio zadatak pronaći odgovarajuće mjesto za bazu ismailija. Pronašao ju je krajem 1080ih u dolini rijeke. Dvorac Alamut nalazio se na vrhu 250 metara visoke stijene. Jedini način da se stigne do utvrđenja bio je uzak i strm put što je omogućavalo laku obranu dvorca s vrlo malo ljudi.

Istovremeno, pogled je predstavljao veliku prednost jer bi svaka prijetnja koja se približavala bila uočena na vrijeme, piše National Geographic.

Skoro dva stoljeća, od 1090. do 1273. godine, Red asasina igrao je jedinstvenu i jezivu ulogu na Bliskom istoku, koju opisuje National Geographic.

Šiitska sekta poznata pod imenom Ismailije bila je relativno malobrojna i geografski raspršena, međutim, zahvaljujući Asasinima (atentatori ili unajmljeni profesionalni ubojice), ova u smislu konvencionalne vojne moći veoma slaba grupa sijala je strah kako među sunitima tako i među kršćanskim osvajačima, točnije križarima koji su u to vrijeme zauzimali i gubili Jeruzalem, piše Newsweek.

Krajem 11. stoljeća, karizmatični i beskrupulozni vođa ismailija Hassan Sabbah pretvorio je ovu proganjanu sektu u jednu od najučinkovitijih – može se slobodno reći – terorističkih organizacija svih vremena.

Čak i najbolje čuvani i najmoćniji vladari doba – Kalife Abasida i Fatimida, sultani i veziri Seldžuka, emiri Damaska, Homsa i Mosula, pa i sam vođa Ajubida, veliki Saladin – drhtali su živeći u strahu od neustrašivih Asasina koji su mogli uvijek i svuda da udariti, u bilo kojem trenutku i iz bilo kojeg smjera, što su i činili.

Poznati pod nadimkom Fidai (od arapske riječi koja je označavala žrtvovanje, "onaj koji dobrovoljno riskira svoj život"), agenti Asasina provodili su mjesece, nekada i godine infiltrirajući neprijateljske redove prije nego što bi konačno zaboli bodež u srce mete.

Najstrašnije je to što Asasini najčešće nisu bježali s mjesta zločina, već su čekali sigurnu smrt.

Njihov nadimak Asasini potekao je od riječi "hašišini", što znači "uživatelji hašiša". Ovaj naziv Asasinima su nadjenuli neprijatelji zbog "opuštenosti" s kojom su njihovi agenti izvršavali zadatke. Ipak, povijesno je vrlo malo vjerojatno da su Asasini zaista konzumirali hašiš, prvenstveno zbog toga što je za delikatne misije koje su izvršavali bila potrebna savršena koncentracija i oštrina osjetila, navodi National Geographic.

Fanatični i disciplinirani vođa Asasina Hassan Sabbah, kao i njegovi nasljednici, bili su briljantni u upotrebi takozvanog "asimetričnog ratovanja". Razvili su taktike napada koje su zaobilazile prednosti neprijatelja kao što je brojčana nadmoć.

Sposobnost Asasina da uklanjaju neprijateljske, kako političke tako i vojne i vjerske vođe, omogućila im je da opstanu između velikih sila na Bliskom istoku.

Za razliku od današnjih terorističkih grupa, Sabbahovi Asasini koristili su teror u svrhe samoobrane, a njihove akcije bile su vrlo precizne, usmjerene na određenu ličnost, bez kolateralne štete.

Sredinom osmog stoljeća, ismailije su se odvojile od šiita i odlučile pratiti Ismaila bin Džafara, sedmog imama, kojeg nisu prihvaćali ostali šiiti. Njihova sekta bila je protiv luksuza u kojem su uživali sunitske Kalife, vladari većeg dijela muslimanskog svijeta. Kako su i šiiti i suniti odbacivali Ismailije kao heretike, oni su se pretvorili u tajnu, praktično revolucionarni grupu u okviru islama.

Hassan Sabbah, koji je pobjegao iz Kaira pod fatimidskom vlašću 1076. godine, prešao je u Isfahan gdje je upoznao misterioznog čovjeka koji će postati njegov mentor. Ovaj učitelj je odmah prepoznao Sabbahov potencijal i uz pomoć rigidnog treninga pretvorio je ovog fizički i mentalno briljantnog čovjeka u vrhunskog agenta i ubojicu.

Sabbah je nekoliko godina vršio tajne zadatke širom Perzije – od ubojstava do preobraćenja drugih muslimana u ismailije.

Kada je skupio dovoljno ljudi, Sabbah je dobio zadatak pronaći odgovarajuće mjesto za bazu ismailija. Pronašao ju je krajem 1080ih u dolini rijeke. Dvorac Alamut nalazio se na vrhu 250 metara visoke stijene. Jedini način da se stigne do utvrđenja bio je uzak i strm put što je omogućavalo laku obranu dvorca s vrlo malo ljudi.

Istovremeno, pogled je predstavljao veliku prednost jer bi svaka prijetnja koja se približavala bila uočena na vrijeme, piše National Geographic.

Skoro dva stoljeća, od 1090. do 1273. godine, Red asasina igrao je jedinstvenu i jezivu ulogu na Bliskom istoku, koju opisuje National Geographic.

Šiitska sekta poznata pod imenom Ismailije bila je relativno malobrojna i geografski raspršena, međutim, zahvaljujući Asasinima (atentatori ili unajmljeni profesionalni ubojice), ova u smislu konvencionalne vojne moći veoma slaba grupa sijala je strah kako među sunitima tako i među kršćanskim osvajačima, točnije križarima koji su u to vrijeme zauzimali i gubili Jeruzalem, piše Newsweek.

Krajem 11. stoljeća, karizmatični i beskrupulozni vođa ismailija Hassan Sabbah pretvorio je ovu proganjanu sektu u jednu od najučinkovitijih – može se slobodno reći – terorističkih organizacija svih vremena.
