Britanska znanstvenica Jane Goodall dobila je Barbie po svom liku, čime je ispunjena njezina dugogodišnja želja da ima vlastitu lutku koja će inspirirati mlade djevojke.


Tvrtka Mattel Inc predstavila je novu Barbie, za koju proizvođač igračaka kaže da je napravljena od reciklirane plastike, kao dio svoje serije posvećene ženama koje nadahnjuju, hvaleći Goodalline revolucionarne studije o čimpanzama i naporima za njihovo očuvanje.


Odjevena u kaki košulju i kratke hlače s bilježnicom u rukama, Goodallina lutka ima dalekozor oko vrata i Davida Greybearda pokraj sebe, repliku prve čimpanze koja se približila primatologinji dok je provodila svoje istraživanje u Nacionalnom parku Gombe, u današnjoj Tanzaniji u istočnoj Africi.


"Željela sam da lutka budem po mom liku čak i prije nego što se ideja pojavila. Gledala  sam...male djevojčice kako se igraju s Barbie lutkama i svakako u početku, sve su bile vrlo ... djevojačke i mislila sam da male djevojčice trebaju...neki izbor", rekla je Goodall za Reuters.


"Mattel je promijenio svoju ponudu lutaka i ima svakakvih astronauta, doktora i sličnih stvari. Toliko djece uči o meni u školi. Bit će oduševljeni što imaju lutku Barbie."


Goodall, 88, započela je svoje istraživanje u istočnoj Africi 1960., promatrajući kako čimpanze izrađuju alate, love i jedu meso te pokazuju suosjećanje među ostalim osobinama.

"Kada sam stigla u Gombe, bilo je prekrasno, moj san se ostvario", rekla je. "Ali četiri mjeseca čimpanze su bježale od mene...pa iako je šuma bila prekrasna, nisam mogla uživati ​​u njoj sve dok David Sivobradi nije svladao strah i pomogao ostalima da također vladaju strah."


Mattel je rekao da će se također udružiti s Institutom Jane Goodall i njezinim pokretom za mlade Roots & Shoots kako bi pomogao podučiti djecu o njihovom utjecaju na okoliš.


"Vidim nas na ulazu u vrlo dugačak, vrlo mračni tunel s malom svjetlucavom zvijezdom na kraju i nije dobro sjediti na ulazu u tunel i govoriti 'Oh, nadam se da će ta zvijezda doći k nama.' Nada je u djelovanju", rekla je Goodall.


"Zaobilazimo sve te prepreke između nas i zvijezde, a to su klimatske promjene, gubitak bioraznolikosti, siromaštvo, neodrživi stilovi života, zagađenje, što god. I dok idemo tunelom, dopiremo do drugih jer postoje ljudi koji rade na svakom od tih problema, ali tako često rade izdvojeno od ostalih."

Britanska znanstvenica Jane Goodall dobila je Barbie po svom liku, čime je ispunjena njezina dugogodišnja želja da ima vlastitu lutku koja će inspirirati mlade djevojke.


Tvrtka Mattel Inc predstavila je novu Barbie, za koju proizvođač igračaka kaže da je napravljena od reciklirane plastike, kao dio svoje serije posvećene ženama koje nadahnjuju, hvaleći Goodalline revolucionarne studije o čimpanzama i naporima za njihovo očuvanje.


Odjevena u kaki košulju i kratke hlače s bilježnicom u rukama, Goodallina lutka ima dalekozor oko vrata i Davida Greybearda pokraj sebe, repliku prve čimpanze koja se približila primatologinji dok je provodila svoje istraživanje u Nacionalnom parku Gombe, u današnjoj Tanzaniji u istočnoj Africi.


"Željela sam da lutka budem po mom liku čak i prije nego što se ideja pojavila. Gledala  sam...male djevojčice kako se igraju s Barbie lutkama i svakako u početku, sve su bile vrlo ... djevojačke i mislila sam da male djevojčice trebaju...neki izbor", rekla je Goodall za Reuters.


"Mattel je promijenio svoju ponudu lutaka i ima svakakvih astronauta, doktora i sličnih stvari. Toliko djece uči o meni u školi. Bit će oduševljeni što imaju lutku Barbie."


Goodall, 88, započela je svoje istraživanje u istočnoj Africi 1960., promatrajući kako čimpanze izrađuju alate, love i jedu meso te pokazuju suosjećanje među ostalim osobinama.

"Kada sam stigla u Gombe, bilo je prekrasno, moj san se ostvario", rekla je. "Ali četiri mjeseca čimpanze su bježale od mene...pa iako je šuma bila prekrasna, nisam mogla uživati ​​u njoj sve dok David Sivobradi nije svladao strah i pomogao ostalima da također vladaju strah."


Mattel je rekao da će se također udružiti s Institutom Jane Goodall i njezinim pokretom za mlade Roots & Shoots kako bi pomogao podučiti djecu o njihovom utjecaju na okoliš.


"Vidim nas na ulazu u vrlo dugačak, vrlo mračni tunel s malom svjetlucavom zvijezdom na kraju i nije dobro sjediti na ulazu u tunel i govoriti 'Oh, nadam se da će ta zvijezda doći k nama.' Nada je u djelovanju", rekla je Goodall.

Britanska znanstvenica Jane Goodall dobila je Barbie po svom liku, čime je ispunjena njezina dugogodišnja želja da ima vlastitu lutku koja će inspirirati mlade djevojke.


Tvrtka Mattel Inc predstavila je novu Barbie, za koju proizvođač igračaka kaže da je napravljena od reciklirane plastike, kao dio svoje serije posvećene ženama koje nadahnjuju, hvaleći Goodalline revolucionarne studije o čimpanzama i naporima za njihovo očuvanje.


Odjevena u kaki košulju i kratke hlače s bilježnicom u rukama, Goodallina lutka ima dalekozor oko vrata i Davida Greybearda pokraj sebe, repliku prve čimpanze koja se približila primatologinji dok je provodila svoje istraživanje u Nacionalnom parku Gombe, u današnjoj Tanzaniji u istočnoj Africi.
