Nakon gotovo deset godina od posljednje takve inicijative, Split je napokon dobio festival je urbane kulture. Kako je na medijskoj konferenciji najavio sam splitski gradonačelnik Ivan Kuret, ST JAM 2008 će okupiti 20 grafitti umjetnika iz grada pod Marjanom, ali i iz Osijeka, Rijeke te Slavonskog Broda.

Prilikom predstavljanja festivala gradonačelnik Kuret obećao je splitskim grafiterima pronaći lokacije - zapuštene gradske zidove - koji će se pretvoriti u galerije ulične umjetnosti. Prvi među ‘muralima’, ove subote s početkom u 9 sati, postat će zidovi školskog igrališta Osnovne škole “Gripe”, na čije će iscrtavanje grafiti umjetnici potrošiti 282 limenke spreja.

- Namjera nam je festival organizirati dva ili čak četiri puta u godini, kako bi s izmjenama godišnjih doba različiti gradski kvartovi dobili oslikane prostore - najavio je pjevač Dragan Lukić-Luky te pozvao mlade splitske umjetnike da se i sami uključe i “urade nešto za grad koji vole”.

Festival će upotpuniti i drugi ‘umjetnici’ urbane kulture - breakedanceri, hip-hop izvođači i DJ-i, pa iako je najavljeno nekoliko gostujućih zagrebačkih skupina te splitski D’N’F, zapravo je riječ o događaju ‘otvorenog mikrofona’ na kojem svi imaju priliku pokazati se.

Ubuduće bi se, smatra Luky, na JAM festivalima mogli naći i ulični košarkaši, skejteri te ostali ‘ekstremni’ sportaši koji se obično vezuju uz uličnu kulturu. Bezumno šaranje sprejevima po spomenicima kulture osudio je tom prigodom Pero Rančić, grafitti umjetnik, odbacujući svaku povezanost takvog vandalizma s njihovim umjetničkim ‘potpisima’.

- Kasnimo u prepoznavanju umjetnosti  - kazao je Rančić, objašnjavajući zbog čega je trebalo proći čitavo desetljeće da bi splitski grafiteri nanovo dobili priliku za slobodno izražavanje.

Nakon gotovo deset godina od posljednje takve inicijative, Split je napokon dobio festival je urbane kulture. Kako je na medijskoj konferenciji najavio sam splitski gradonačelnik Ivan Kuret, ST JAM 2008 će okupiti 20 grafitti umjetnika iz grada pod Marjanom, ali i iz Osijeka, Rijeke te Slavonskog Broda.

Prilikom predstavljanja festivala gradonačelnik Kuret obećao je splitskim grafiterima pronaći lokacije - zapuštene gradske zidove - koji će se pretvoriti u galerije ulične umjetnosti. Prvi među ‘muralima’, ove subote s početkom u 9 sati, postat će zidovi školskog igrališta Osnovne škole “Gripe”, na čije će iscrtavanje grafiti umjetnici potrošiti 282 limenke spreja.

- Namjera nam je festival organizirati dva ili čak četiri puta u godini, kako bi s izmjenama godišnjih doba različiti gradski kvartovi dobili oslikane prostore - najavio je pjevač Dragan Lukić-Luky te pozvao mlade splitske umjetnike da se i sami uključe i “urade nešto za grad koji vole”.

Festival će upotpuniti i drugi ‘umjetnici’ urbane kulture - breakedanceri, hip-hop izvođači i DJ-i, pa iako je najavljeno nekoliko gostujućih zagrebačkih skupina te splitski D’N’F, zapravo je riječ o događaju ‘otvorenog mikrofona’ na kojem svi imaju priliku pokazati se.

Ubuduće bi se, smatra Luky, na JAM festivalima mogli naći i ulični košarkaši, skejteri te ostali ‘ekstremni’ sportaši koji se obično vezuju uz uličnu kulturu. Bezumno šaranje sprejevima po spomenicima kulture osudio je tom prigodom Pero Rančić, grafitti umjetnik, odbacujući svaku povezanost takvog vandalizma s njihovim umjetničkim ‘potpisima’.

- Kasnimo u prepoznavanju umjetnosti  - kazao je Rančić, objašnjavajući zbog čega je trebalo proći čitavo desetljeće da bi splitski grafiteri nanovo dobili priliku za slobodno izražavanje.
