„Ni zbog jednoga od svojih snova ne žalim. Jedino žalim što nisam više sanjao”, poručuje ugledni državnik i mirotvorac Shimon Peres (1923. – 2016.) u svojoj autobiografiji "Nema mjesta za male snove – Hrabrost, imaginacija i stvaranje modernoga Izraela" koju je ovih dana objavila Školska knjiga.

Nadahnuto djelo jednog od najuglednijih i najpoštovanijih državnika svijeta, objavljeno u prijevodu Vedrana Pavlića te opremljeno predgovorom prof. dr. Dragana Primorca, pogovorom prof. dr. sc. Mirjane Kasapović i fotografijama iz privatnog i profesionalnog života Shimona Peresa, može se nabaviti u svim knjižarama i u webshopu Školske knjige.

U svojoj jedinoj autobiografiji Shimon Peres, dobitnik Nobelove nagrade za mir, političar i državnik golema iskustva, piše o najvažnijim odlukama koje je morao donijeti te se prisjeća trenutaka koji su oblikovali njegov život i položili temelje države Izraela. Izazovi s kojima se suočavao služe kao putokaz ljudima iz cijelog svijeta koji žele predvoditi i nadahnjivati – revolucionarnim inovatorima, neiskusnim poduzetnicima, mladim učenicima i svjetskim vođama.

Shimon Peres piše o svojemu doprinosu u izgradnji mlade države te svojoj ulozi u uspostavi izraelskoga nuklearnog programa, ali i o naporima da spasi Izrael od gospodarske propasti te o njegovu pretvaranju u startup naciju. Dakako, piše i o svojoj neumornoj potrazi za mirom.

„U ovome fascinantnom djelu Shimon Peres, univerzalna osobnost i iskreni promicatelj promjena, ne obraća se samo građanima Izraela nego i cijelome svijetu. Bivši predsjednici Sjedinjenih Američkih Država ne štede pohvalne riječi o Shimonu Peresu i njegovu autobiografskom djelu. „Ova knjiga prenosi cjeloživotnu vjeru mojega prijatelja u sposobnost da se uzdignemo iznad svojih rana, srdžbi i strahova”, zapisao je Bill Clinton. George H. W. Bush ističe Peresovu nepopustljivu odlučnost i principijelnost, urođenu ljudskost i iskrenu čestitost, a Barack Obama naziva ga divom naraštaja koji je utemeljio Izrael, neumornim zagovornikom mira i vječnim optimistom od kojega možemo puno učiti.

Jedan od najvećih izraelskih književnika, Amos Oz, preporučuje knjigu kao „pravu poslasticu za sve koje uzbuđuje povijest, politika, Izrael na Bliskom istoku, promjene, čudesni snovi i vizije”. Vrlo emotivno o Shimonu Peresu u predgovoru piše i prof. dr. sc. Dragan Primorac: „Sebe je smatrao filozofom. Ja sam ga smatrao mentorom i prijateljem. Neki su ga smatrali liderom, a neki političarom. U mojim je očima bio i ostao sanjar, no jedan od malobrojnih sanjara kojemu su se gotovo svi snovi ostvarili.”

Autorica pogovora prof. dr. sc. Mirjana Kasapović naziva posljednju Peresovu knjigu dragocjenim svjedočanstvom o politici i povijesti Izraela. Okom objektivne znanstvenice prati njegovu dugu političku karijeru tijekom koje je doživio ideološku evoluciju od političkog jastreba do političkoga goluba u odnosu prema palestinskom pitanju. Naposljetku zaključuje: „Peres je iskusan pisac koji je napisao desetak knjiga te mnogo stručnih i političkih analiza u časopisima i novinama. Razvio je lijep, jednostavan i čitljiv stil pisanja kojim dojmljivo opisuje i dočarava burne godine svojeg života i života svoje zemlje. Iz ove se knjige može mnogo saznati i u njezinu se čitanju može uživati.”

Razmatrajući središnje trenutke uspona Izraela, Shimon Peres istražuje što ljude čini velikim vođama, kako donositi teške odluke u okruženju nesigurnosti, kako se suočiti s izazovom pronalaženja ravnoteže između načela i politike te kako iskoristiti čudesnu moć imaginacije i spontane inovativnosti. Pritom nudi važna i univerzalna razmišljanja korisna mlađim naraštajima, onima koji žele preuzeti vodstvo u politici i poslovnom svijetu, a osobito onima koji žele biti u službi ostvarenja šireg cilja – da naš planet postane sigurnije, mirnije i pravednije mjesto.

Bivši predsjednici Sjedinjenih Američkih Država ne štede pohvalne riječi o Shimonu Peresu i njegovu autobiografskom djelu. „Ova knjiga prenosi cjeloživotnu vjeru mojega prijatelja u sposobnost da se uzdignemo iznad svojih rana, srdžbi i strahova”, zapisao je Bill Clinton. George H. W. Bush ističe Peresovu nepopustljivu odlučnost i principijelnost, urođenu ljudskost i iskrenu čestitost, a Barack Obama naziva ga divom naraštaja koji je utemeljio Izrael, neumornim zagovornikom mira i vječnim optimistom od kojega možemo puno učiti.

Jedan od najvećih izraelskih književnika, Amos Oz, preporučuje knjigu kao „pravu poslasticu za sve koje uzbuđuje povijest, politika, Izrael na Bliskom istoku, promjene, čudesni snovi i vizije”. Vrlo emotivno o Shimonu Peresu u predgovoru piše i prof. dr. sc. Dragan Primorac: „Sebe je smatrao filozofom. Ja sam ga smatrao mentorom i prijateljem. Neki su ga smatrali liderom, a neki političarom. U mojim je očima bio i ostao sanjar, no jedan od malobrojnih sanjara kojemu su se gotovo svi snovi ostvarili.”

Autorica pogovora prof. dr. sc. Mirjana Kasapović naziva posljednju Peresovu knjigu dragocjenim svjedočanstvom o politici i povijesti Izraela. Okom objektivne znanstvenice prati njegovu dugu političku karijeru tijekom koje je doživio ideološku evoluciju od političkog jastreba do političkoga goluba u odnosu prema palestinskom pitanju. Naposljetku zaključuje: „Peres je iskusan pisac koji je napisao desetak knjiga te mnogo stručnih i političkih analiza u časopisima i novinama. Razvio je lijep, jednostavan i čitljiv stil pisanja kojim dojmljivo opisuje i dočarava burne godine svojeg života i života svoje zemlje. Iz ove se knjige može mnogo saznati i u njezinu se čitanju može uživati.”

Razmatrajući središnje trenutke uspona Izraela, Shimon Peres istražuje što ljude čini velikim vođama, kako donositi teške odluke u okruženju nesigurnosti, kako se suočiti s izazovom pronalaženja ravnoteže između načela i politike te kako iskoristiti čudesnu moć imaginacije i spontane inovativnosti. Pritom nudi važna i univerzalna razmišljanja korisna mlađim naraštajima, onima koji žele preuzeti vodstvo u politici i poslovnom svijetu, a osobito onima koji žele biti u službi ostvarenja šireg cilja – da naš planet postane sigurnije, mirnije i pravednije mjesto.
